The next morning Legolas was readying his pack and weapons when he heard the lady call out to him in his mind.

//Legolas come to me at the fountain of Galadriel. I need to speak with you my woodland prince.//

//Yes my lady.// Legolas picked up his things and headed off to the mirror of Galadriel. She was calling him there for a reason and he dare not delay. He was aware that she rarely let anyone look into the mirror. The last of which was Frodo.

Upon arriving the lady was seated on a stone bench facing the fountain.
She smiled up at him, stood and walked slowly up to the mirror of Galadriel. She said nothing until he joined her. He was hesitating to approach the famed mirror not really knowing what to expect.

Galadriel smiled. “Fear not Legolas the mirror will not bit you! But I do wish you to look. I have seen great things for you Legolas. Past and forth coming. But the choice is yours.”

“I will look my lady.” Legolas looked down as she poured crystal clear water from the near by spring into the basin of the fountain and waited for the images to come.

It was slow going at first but slowly the image of a beautiful young maiden took shape. She had long silver hair that hung past her slim hips in soft waves and deep green eyes. She was sitting in a clearing with children playing all around. She was smiling at one little boy that looked to be human. He has lost a ball of some sort. The elleth held it out for him to take.

Legolas could not help but smile at the scene that was playing out before him. The maiden looked to be at home with children all around her. He found himself wondering what she would look like with her own elflings playing all around her. But what shocked him was the elflings he pictured looked like him. Legolas sighed and looked up at the lady. Who had a knowing smile on her face.

“Is this the maiden we are to bring back with us?” Legolas asked looking down at the mirror.

“Yes that is Azariel.” Galadriel smiled then looked back into the mirror. The image was changing. She was sitting in a room with a lot of humans watching pictures moving across the screen of some sort. Galadriel and Legolas gasped then they saw the one ring.

A whorl of emotions ran through Legolas’s mind. The last image that they saw was one of the three Elvin rings. Two of the three had lost their inner light. But them one belonging to Elrond had taking on a strange new light. It was a dark and evil light.

“My lady! Lord Elrond! Where is his ring?”

“He gave it into the keeping of Arwen’s new born child. It hung from a chain around her neck.”

“No!” Legolas looked to the lady who was already in a trance trying to connect with Arwen. Legolas prayed she would be in time to save the child from permanent damage.

**************
Not long after the lady called all those who were to go into the future to gather in the royal talan. Where she and Gandolf whom had arrived daring the night, were looking through an ancient tome that contained there in a spill that would hopefully help them open a gateway to bring back Azariel.

Once they found the spill and cast it the travelers all crossed into the porthole that was standing off to the lady Galadriel’s left. The porthole was quite large with multi colored waves running through it. It almost looked like water.

Haldir was the last to go through the gateway. He was a little reluctant to step into the unknown but the life of an innocent was at stake. The life of Arwen’s newborn daughter. And that Haldir would not risk. He moved as quickly to get it over as soon as possible.

Galadriel sighed and turned and laid her head on Celeborn’s strong chest. She prayed to the valar that she had done the right thing in sending her son through that porthole. She and Celeborn and a few other guards were to stand and keep watch to make sure that nothing got through the porthole that wasn’t meant to.

***

Arwen was sitting in a soft chair next to her new daughter’s bed. She was sleeping soundly. She had not sleep much scene Elrohir and Elladan had left a week before. And Arwen could only guess that the twin’s absence was the cause. And at this point she was contemplating sending for them to return to Gondor with all possible hastate least then maybe the house would get some sleep.

Aragorn walking into the chamber brought her out of her thoughts. He was standing on the other side of the bed looking down at Azariel. She was sleeping with her little thumb in her mouth. Arwen smiled up at him and sighed contently.
