CH 3

As the two females approached, Haldir’s face was surprised to see the young girls out of their borders.

“Lady Arwen and Lady Larien, what brings you beyond your borders?” Haldir asked the two girls.

“Well we sort of got in trouble today as we played a prank on Amras here. Now we are going to see what its like beyond the borders and be more appreciative of the lifestyle we were born into.” Arwen answered.

Haldir hugged Arwen, as it was much surprise to see the Eldest out of the presence of her mother. Those two were inseparable at times for the two loved to chat and talk about fashion and such.

Then he came upon the Female Elf he longed to be his wife but she did not want more than mere friendship from him.

Haldir hugged Larien and whispered in her ear, “I have missed you.” But it was short lived as Haldir breathed in the scent of Lilac’s. He pulled away as Arwen gave him a dirty look.

Arwen heard what he whispered into her sister’s ear and quickly changed the subject.

“Tell us Haldir, what brings you past your borders from the Golden Woods?” Arwen asked, as she knew her sister was uncomfortable around Haldir.

“I am helping patrol Rivendell for the reason you two are out in the woods beyond your borders of Rivendell to assist if anything should go wrong.” Haldir explained.

Amras stated, “Lets move on, we must get to our stations in the tops oe tre trees.”

All three went as he commanded as Haldir, Larien and Arwen caught up on old times. They talked about the Golden Woods and reminiscing of childhood memories.

That was short lived as Amras asked Haldir to set up camp and make tha that the guards were in place for the Orc’s party that they had seen a head.

Unhappy about what Amras had spoken about, she said, “I do not want to be around those nasty Orc’s.” Arwen was not very fond of those horrible things but knew how to defend herself in case of an attack.

Amras explained rather cold, “It may do you some good to experience life outside the palace my dear, out here it’s very different and being ready for such an attack, you must be ready. I will not let anything happen to you two, this I promise.” He knew that the girls were not used to being outside their peaceful home but he prayed that they would not have to be exposed to such Evil.

Nevertheless, as the day went on the two were putting into the reality what they had learned day by day of the use of swords. Also the use of the bow and arrow which Larien was very good at and her sister mirrored her skill set as well.

The night was growing upon them as Larien decided to take a walk towards the stream that was sparkling in the moon light. She had put her hood over her head so that no one would recognize her as she walked down to the stream.

Larien bent down and gazed at the stream as she was going to splash some water on her face. However, in the distance she heard a snapping of a tree limb and got curious. Upon hearing this noise, she went to investigate.

Following her gut she walked around the stream and through the path. She climbed in a tree for safety to see who was entering the camp. The cloaked being walked softly in the woods as he sensed another around but did not know whom it was, so he kept walking and would cut who ever or what ever it was that watched him.

Then her instincts kicked in and she put her training to the test. She jumped down from the tree and pushed the being down to the ground. They rolled around for a few moments and they stood up. Larien released her sword as so did the other person.

In the camp, Amras’s hearing, sensed someone was fighting he looked around to see the adventurous Larien was not around.

Larien kept up with the other person behind the cloaked hood as the two battled it out. Soon Larien tripped the person she was fighting and put the blade up to her predator’s neck. But soon followed many guards that seized both of the hooded Elves.

The cloaked person struggled a little before his cloak fell off his face. Amras d nod not believe that Prince Legolas of Mirkwood was the one that his guard attacked.
