Exploring Elves
Author Note: this chapter doesn't seem to want to load, so it won't be as long as I would have liked.

Lena blinked in disbelief at the reality that she was no longer looking out the window of her apartment, but the window of Travis' Rivendell bedroom. She could hardly believe that she had done it, willed herself here, all on her own. Since her first visit, she'd been trying to convince herslef it had been a dream, and now, here she was. Again, whatever had brought her here had taken liberties with her clothing as well. She wore a soft green dress with a darker green belt and brown leather boots. She hair was braided back from her face in a delicate design.
If she had to guess, she'd say it was early evening by the low light and the cool breeze that blew through the room. Who was she kidding? She knew nothing of the elves and their weather patterns. It could be three in the morning or mid afternoon. Either way, she decided that now was as good a time as any to explore the place. As she passed through the clearings and wooded paths, she wanted to pinch herself and make sure she was awake. Whenever someone would pass, she would duck into a shadowed area to avoid a confrontation that might wake her up or cause her un-needed trouble.
It was one such duck in that led her into a room which looked like a cross betweestudstudy and a gallery. The walls were covered with murals and relics filled every nook and cranny of the shadowy room. She stepped toward a table which held the shards of a sword. From the shadows behind her, a voice called, stopping her hand which hovered over a piece if the broken blade. "The shards of Narsil, the sword which cut the one ring from the enemy's hand." The husky voice of the future king of men commented. "And some here, might mistake you for an enemy, would be elf."
She approached him, to reassure herself that the man in the shadows was indeed Aragorn. "Estel," She called him be his elven name, "What would you know of a would be elf? living among them and speaking their language." With a laugh, he raised his hands in admitted defeat. He couldn't argue the truth in her statement, even if he did wonder how the girl knew his elven name. "Tell me, ranger, would you be one of those who might call me enemy?" Aragorn shook his head, rising from his shadowed bench to face her. "It is a fool who calls enemy to a friend of Elrond and Rivendell, but I would not put it above the twins to cause you unneeded troubles."
The twins.. She remembered too well her brief meetings with the twins, how Elrohir had tried to decieve her from the moment they met. Aragorn could fully sympathize, all of Rivendell had fallen prey to attempted tricks from the twins at one time or another. "Tell me, is there any way you tell them apart Aragorn?" He sighed, giving her the unfortunate answer. "Only knowledge gained after being around them for years." Lena fake grimaced at this. "Then I should be glad to never be able to tell them apart... they aren't here are they? the foolhardy elflings?"
"What foolhardy elflings would those be?" a voice called from a doorway into the study before Aragorn could mention that Elladan and Elrohir were hardly elflings even if they often acted far below their thousands of years.
