Going to Imladris
When the morning came Rumil escorted Glorfindel to the capital of
Lorien. Elrond and Erestor were pleased to see that their friend was
ok. However Orophin and Haldir were less pleased when they learned of
Rumil's involvment.
"What were you thinking? You could have died!" Haldir screamed at his
brother.
"What would you care? Besides I couldn't let an innocent elf die! He
was alone and outnumbered!" Rumil spat angrily.
"How dare you imply that I don't love you!" Haldir snapped.
"You don't! You showed me as much last night when Elrond and Erestor
arrived! You and Orophin didn't even say hello to me. You ignored me
and went right to your lover!" Rumil sneered at his brother.
"Rumil! You know that visits from them are few and far between!"
Orophin jumped in defending Haldir.
"Yes I know! And at those times you forget that I exist! I hate you
both! You don't love me! I'd be better off dead!" Rumil shouted before
he turned and ran away.
Unbeknowst to them Glorfindel had heard and seen it all. He followed
Rumil to a small stream where the elf sat crying.
"Are you all right mellon?" Glorfindel asked quietly.
Rumil shook his head sadly and launched himself at the elda.
"Take me away from here! Saes!" Rumil sobbed.
Glorfindel rubbed the elf's back before agreeing. "Stay here I will be
back in one hour.
Rumil nodded and sat under a tree to wait. Glorfindel went back to the
capitol where he found Galadriel and Elrond waiting for him. Two
horses were saddled and ready. Galadriel smiled at him.
"Treat him well." was all she said.
Glorfindel nodded and took the horses reigns.
Elrond smiled. "We will have a talk with Haldir and Orophin. Good bye
mellon."
Glorfindel smiled and bade them goodbye and he went to retreive Rumil.

Glorfindel went back to the tree and found Rumil. They mounted their
horses and set out for Imladris. When they reached the border they saw
Orophin and Haldir waiting for them.
"Where are you going?" Haldir demanded of his brother.
"None of you business." Rumil spat.
"I am your commanding officer! You cannot leave this wood without my
approval!" Haldir screamed.
"Yes he can!" Glorfindel interjected. "Lady Galadriel knows he is
leaving now let us pass!"
Orophin and Haldir glowered at him but they didn't move.
"Stand aside." Glorfindel drew himself upright and stared at them.
"Rumil please don't leave." Orophin begged.
Rumil said nothing he simply rode past them and Glorfindel followed.
Haldir and Orophin watched them go sadly.

They rode for two days straight until the reached the border of
Imladris. They dismounted and walked their horses. They were stopped
by the twins. Rumil hadn't seen them since they were elflings.
Smiling Rumil followed them to the last homely house.

Rumil sighed as he got into the steaming bath water. The water was
hot enough to soothe his exhausted muscles and mind. He knew he loved
Glorfindel...he prolly always had. He had first met the elf when he
was a child. Glorfindel had come to Lorien to teach him, his
brothers, the twins and Legolas. He was so young at the time. He
could remember him and Legolas following him around Lorien. They had
such a huge case of hero worship! Sighing he got out, dried off and
dressed as a knock sounded on his door. He bade who ever it was to
enter. The door opened and the twins walked in smiling. Rumil
shrewedly noted the anger in their eyes.
"Glorfindel told you why I am here?" he asked tiredly as he sat on
the bed and tried to comb his hair.
Elrohir took the comb from him, he brushed and braided the guardian's
hair.
"Yes." Elladan said as he sat next to Rumil and embraced him.
Rumil hugged him back and held one arm out to Elrohir. They held the
guardian until he fell asleep. Gently they laid him down and covered
him with a blanket.
"Did we ever apologize for being so cruel to him as an elfling?"
Elladann asked his twin.
"Yeah once of twice." Elrohir smiled and they left the room.

Glorfindel was in the study when the twins entered.
"Where is Rumil?" he asked concerned.
"Sleeping." they awnsered together.
Glorfindel nodded. "He needs it."
"Should we..." Elrohir began
"....go to Lorien and kick his brother's asses?" Elladan finshed
angrily.
Glorfindel smiled and shook his head no. "Nay. He needs to be away
from them for awhile. I am hoping you two will help me keep him
entertained...And listen should he need it?"
Elladan and Elrohir nodded and embraced their old tutor. "He is our
brother...." they said together again and they trailed off.
Glorfindel smiled as he remembered the pact the six of them
made. "Perhaps you two could ride to Mirkwood and invite Legolas
here?"
Elladan and Elrohir perked up and nodded excited and they left to
fetch the prince.
Glorfindel tunred back to the fire and reflected on his love for the
guardian.
