FLASHBACK (yes again)
"Dance with me ." The hoarse voice said to the shorter elf who was hidden behind the silver mask, like the rest of the elves who were required to wear it tonight, on this merry celebration of King Gil-Galad's birthday.
"Who are you stranger?"
The fearsome gray eyes scanned the features of the stranger standing before him, and he reluctantly took the hold of the hand the other elf offered and the small shock their bodies produced went through them, making them vulnerable at this lovely moment when the music played and their senses were taken by it.
"Someone you know, but you don't care to know about. Someone who is always close, but always manages to be far away. "
The lowered voice came from the taller elf and herald sighed wishing that this night he was held by someone else his heart yearned for and that the dance would swept them away from their feet.
This stranger was quite unnerving but at the same time he felt closer to him than he did ever to anyone else.
This masked stranger woke up some unknown feeling that was dreaded by the raven haired young elf, and he asked again, wanting to know the identity of this puzzled stranger.
"Can't you tell me your name. I do not dance with the strangers. Tell me, have I met you in the court somewhere."
Elrond acquired again but he knew that he would not find out who hid behind that mask and why this stranger was so unknown but yet so familiar to his soul.
"My name stands for nothing. Nor does my title this evening. This evening I just want to dance. No words should be necessary when our feet move, because you can surely sense that I would never hurt you. Do not fear of me, because if you fear the strangers somewhere deep inside, you fear only yourself. Come, move. Let's dance and be merry. The nights like these are not made for words."
The strangers voice was still unrecognizable and Elrond had thought that maybe this elf was from somewhere very far away.
But on the other hand elf had told him that he had knew him so Elrond allowed himself to be led in the vast gardens, and his mind rested at ease as his thoughts ventured somewhere else, somewhere where he really wanted to be this night. He wanted and yearned to be in arms of the cold warrior his heart desired, but he knew such relation could never be. His beloved was nowhere to be found.
Elrond despaired because tonight he didn't see his secret beloved amongst those masked elves and he wondered how the other one looked behind the coverings of the gold or silver mask.
He himself was wearing the mask that covered just his eyes but some of the other elves had carried the masks that covered a half of their faces so they wouldn't be recognized this night.
Like this stranger for instance. Elrond had called him stranger but he wasn't sure that he really was that. Something was rather familiar about the other elf and Elrond needed to find out.
But as soon as they were outside in the gardens, no questions were asked because Arthon led their bodies in the slow moves, as the music became sad and melody required silent moving of their feet on the ground.
Elrond was surprised as he found himself in this slow dance and with their bodies touching every now and then, provoking the sparks in both of them that remained hidden through the night.
END FLASHBACK
Haldir stood frozen as he entered the room quietly and he saw Arthon's longing expression lined on the otherwise serious face. Haldir wondered what thoughts the other one was so lost in, but he didn't interrupt the others musings, as he tried to discover what the other elf held in himself.
The expression on Arthon's face was the one, which some kind the happy memory provoked out and Haldir was puzzled as he discovered Lord in this kind of the state.
He moved himself between the shadows of the door as he examined Arthon once again and he came to conclusion that the other one was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't notice anything or anyone around him.
FLASHBACK
Arthon pulled the figure he held tightly against him and he slowly glanced upon the other's masked face and he saw the curious expression coming from his dance partner.
The flowers, a lots of them surrounded the sight in the garden those two danced upon and only light was produced by flickering lanterns, making that sight very enchanting for the ones eyes.
The dance went on for a few minutes and none of them needed words to know this endearing moment was special, but none of them confessed it that it was so.
This was something that word couldn't describe, two masked faces and small flickering light that made their robes shinier than any light could make it so. Both of them wore robes made of silk, although difference in colors were vie, te, they both looked elegant and noble.
The hold Arthon had on the other body was strong and Elrond felt uncomfortable under that fiery gaze and he knew he had saw those eyes somewhere else before, but he forgot when and where.
"This is wrong. I do not know you, we shouldn't be dancing like this." Elrond started speaking again but the stranger shushed him with the reasonable reply, and Elrond started to hear some familiar tone in the voice he just heard.
"How can this be wrong. We are not doing anything indecent. We are just dancing, Elrond"
"How do you know my name. Who are you?" Elrond acquired again and he moved his arm to remove the other's mask but the stranger prevented him from doing that.
They stopped their dance and they stared at each other as if trying to find some peace of puzzle in that sudden exploration.
"You will found who I am, but all in a good time. Do not be rash, my good friend. You will find out soon that I am not so unfamiliar to you."
END FLASHBACK
The flash of the shadow pulled Arthon from his thoughts and he raised his head to meet eyes of the intruder standing at the door.
He sneered as he encountered the brave Marchwarden standing there in the corner of the room and he started speaking to the other elf, careful to pick the words that wouldn't offend already prickly Marchwarden.
"Well, Haldir. What are you doing here so soon?" Arthon asked the other elf in his usual cold tone and Haldir's gaze turned from curios one to the furious one.
'"Where is Elrond. What had you done to him?" Haldir asked in concern, but the laughter he received as the response was irritating him the most.
"Ssnarsnarling at me pea-brain. I have done nothing to my future husband, as unbelievable as it is to hear.
For your information he is the bedroom discussing our upcoming marriage with his sons. I recall he explained that before you left this room."
Haldir's temper almost left him but he recalled his Lady's words telling him to remain calm before this trying Lord.
"All right, I forgot. But you must admit leaving him with you was like leaving him with the room packed with WarTrutTruthfully even the Wargs are sometimes manageable than your temper."
Haldir chuckled as the other one frowned but Arthon's attention was now fully drawn to the paper Haldir held in his hand.
"What is that document, you hold in your hand Haldir." Arthon recognized that kind of document because he had held it once before, when he was divorcing his wife.
It was a document started by her parents and it was sent for him to be sighed.
He assumed that this was Crianrian's and Elrond's divorce document and the reply he waited for was now meaningless.
"It is none of you affair, Arthon. I shall sit here and wait for Elrond if you don't mind." Haldir hid that document deep inside his tunic and he sat down giving the arrogant Lord one icy glare.
"Then I shall not ask again." Arthon just said that as he leaned back on the chair and he deeply yawned, hoping that Elrond would finish talking to his children, so he would finally le dle down his tired body on the bed.
"It is unusual for you to give up so soon, Arthon. The elves usually speak of you as the fighter, curious spy who always manages to find out the secret business of the others."
Haldir looked at the other elf as he was resting in the chair, but Arthon just looked at the ceiling as the shadows of leaves from the nearby trees danced upon it.
"Time changes some, and so it has made change in me. I do not want to mend in this secbusibusiness because it is of private nature and I do not go beyond borders to poke into something that does not interest me."
The reply was simple and Haldir was satisfied with it, leaving this room again in the silence as they waited for Elrond to finish his task. Haldir felt nervous being here alone with this arrogant Lord, but he kept any questions and words to himself, because he didn't want to socialize so freely with someone who was colder than a block of an iceberg.
~*~*~*~*
Huor was hurting right now because his wound started acting up when Semar brushed it accidentally while he got up from the bed, as he fled from that kiss Huor bestowed upon him.
He wasn't sure what to do in that matter and he sighed collecting enough of his strength and ignoring the pain as he left the bed, searching for the salve Semar used on his wound before.
luc luckily found it on the nearby table and he picked it up with the haste, returning quickly to the bed, because he started to feel a little lightheaded.
He didn't know where Semar fled to and he would have followed if he had some strength to spare, but in this condition he didn't dare to leave his room.
He knew he wanted the other elf back so badly but his carelessness had chased Semar away and he was angry at himself for doing that.
He untied the bandages from the wound and he applied the salve a bit clumsily and he hissed because he didn't apply it so gently as Semar did so many times before.
He just wanted to stop hurting and any amount of applied salve would help him to bear this bothering pain.
Semar peeked into the room as he collected himself outside and he saw the other one clenching his teeth as he tired to tend to his wound.
He tried to figure out what to do, and he asked himself if he should aid the other elf who so carelessly attempted to apply the salve to his wound.
His feet carried him inside, because he felt a pity for the one who was hurting so much and he came to the corner of the bed, laughing at the other's lame task of healing himself.
"And I suppose you find this funny, Semar."
Huor growled through his teeth but he felt the pain going away as the salve started working and he sighed in relief because he didn't have to deal with it for a while.
"No, just amusing. Do you need some assistance in placing the new bandages to your wound."
Semar sneered but the other one just nodded as he relaxed himself a bit, trying so hard to chase away the rest of the pain he felt."
"I would be so thankful if you did that Semar. After all, my pretty one, this was all your fault"
"My fault...why was it my fault."
Semar requested but the soft knock on the door stopped him and he met his friends face at the door step, with smug expression on his face.
"Stinah, you are back." Semar kindly smiled at his friend and he felt a little uncomfortable under his knowing friends gaze. He knew Stinah very well to discover that the other one was teasing him with his so knowing looks and he hated being read as the open book.
"Yes, the borders finally have no use of me, dear. Hello Huor, how fare you. I heard about your wound and I wish you a quick recovery from that affliction."
He gave a fake smile to Hour and the other one returned the same expression to Stinah, knowing all those nice greetings they uttered toward each other they never meant.
They weren't friends nor foes, but neither they shared the space in a peace and usually they provoked the fights with each other whenever they met.
"Thank you, Stinah." Huor just glared at the other elf, not believing that the he was so rude barging in like this.
"May I borrow Semar from you for just a second? I have the other affairs to tend to in a few minutes and our talk won't be long."
Sh sah said raising his brow little in a challenge and Huor just glared at him, nodding with his head as he red. ed.
"Yes, but just for a second. I need his help here and do not make this conversation of yours too long."
Huor warned and he gritted his teeth as his inner anger started working on the outside.
Semar got out and he started to close the door behind him but Stinah stubbornly held them open.
He whispered something to the younger elf and Huor wiggled in the bed trying to hear what was it that Stinah said to Semar.
"But we cannot do it now. Our plan cannot start now. He is hurt."
Semar replied but the other elf shushed him as he placed the finger on his lower lip.
"Nay we will not start the intimate peace of our plan right now, but you must tell him that we are together. We have to start our plan right now because I am determined now than ever ee yee you two work it out. I just came here to remind you of our plan, and I have to hurry back because I have some issues to clear with my ex-lover."
"You have seen Haldir again. Haven't you." Semar asked his friend and by the gaze he received he knew that the other one had met Haldir again.
"Yes, I have. But I will tell you all about him later. You see you are not the onle whe who wants to change his beloved. I am also on the mission and this plan of our per perfect weapon which will make THEM our perfect players of this game we are about to play."
Stinah whispered in the lower voice and he nodded as he saw Semar's confusing expression.
"You mean, you want him back in your life."
Semar asked not believing what he was hearing and Stinah confirmed those questions by nodding with his head again.
"Yes, I know it is foolish. But he is the only one I feel complete with. Unbelievingly, I had admitted something I knew for a long time."
Stinah smiled at his friend and he brushed his face with slim fingers, feeling some commotion inside the room.
He glanced inside and he saw Huor almost boiling from the anger because he felt so left out from this secret conversation.
Hour couldn't hear from the bed what those two were about, because the pain he reed fed from being wounded had corrupted his sense of hearing for a while.
Huor felt that strange wave of possessiveness go throughout him when he saw Stinah caressing Semar's face and he wanted to get up and wring both of their necks.
"We have to keep this short because I think if I touch you one more time your patient over there will explode. If you need me I am at Haldir's rooms. Do not ask how I got to be there because Valar knows, I cannot clearly recall it myself. Be brave and do yourt oft of this plan."
Stinah lowered his face to the other's cheek and he kissed it gently. Huor grumbled something under his breath and Stinah gave him a wicked grin, glowing in his first victory this plan brought, which was this provoking streak of suppressed jealousy coming from Huor. Semar just shook his head when he saw his friend's attitude, and he felt little embarrassed as Stinah kissed him, but he knew he had to endure this kind of fake affection if this plan was to work.
Stinah disappeared around the corner after that and Semar reluctantly entered Huor's room waiting for those coming exploring questions, which Huor was surely dying to ask.
