The Fire Dance

Ch27

As the healer instructed him, Lindir hopped up onto the exam table,
then blinked surprised when he noticed that he was Still only eye level
to Orophins chest "You...you really are quite tall".

Orophin smiled as he took a step back, then leaned forward and placed
his hands on either side of the young minstrel, gripping the edge of
the table, his face now level with with the shocked ellon "How is
this...or I could just hunch myself, though I must admit, my back
protests that stance after a while".

Lindir slowly reached out his uninjured hand and gently pushed him back
"I will not have you uncomfortable. I do not mind looking up, I have to
with Lord Glorfindel daily...tho I think in all truth, that you are
even taller then he is".

Orophin chuckled as he assumed his natural posture "Before the vicious
attack on your hand by that evil string, the song you were playing was
rather nice...did you write it?"

Lindir, who is normally complemented twenty times a day and so
therefore usually shrugged off such comments, actually found himself
growing flushed before this tall warrior "Hannon le...aye, I wrote it"

"Orophin!!"

Lindir gasped as the tall elf instantly leapt over the other exam
table, placing it between him and the irate elf "Hal...Valar you...you
nearly drove me from my skin!"

Haldir narrowed his eyes and took only one step forward "Ooo...I dare
say, it is a gooood thing that you are already in the healing wing,
because you are going to need many many healers when I am through with
you!"

Orophin worried his brow, this was not just ranting, Haldir was in a
full out rage, and the middle brother knew that this was not something
he could just verbally calm him from "Haldir, my brother, wha...what
has you so enraged, what have I done".

"You sent Rumil out alone with the elder Peredhil! You know those
flowers he received? He sent them! I found a half burned note from him
in the fireplace! Rumil would Never had thought to burn it! He would
have tried to keep it hidden! You! You Must have instructed him to do
so!"

Lindir fidgeted with concern when the tall elfs face drained of all
color. The healer tending to his hand sighed, then reached over and
picked something up.

Before Haldir could truly respond to the scratch that was now on his
forearm, he fell hard to the floor, unconscious.

Orophin slowly peered over the table, then looked at the healer
"Wh...what did you do to him"

Sighing heavily as he finished wrapping Lindirs hand, the healer
shrugged "I have better things to do then patch up a sibling squabble,
I could see it in his eyes, he was definitely going to draw blood from
you in some way...so I used Lord Elronds ScratchThorn. Quite a
wonderful little invention of his I might add. You take a thorn, soak
it in a potent sleeping draft, then bind it to this quill like handle,
creating a nice little instant sleep poker. Now, I suggest that you
make yourself scarce Orophin. And you Lindir, stop using those strings,
they are obviously faulty...you have been here three times now this
week, I do Not want to hear that you were here for a fourth"

When they entered the hall, Orophin looked down at the fair minstrel
and smiled "Before my brother wakes, finds me again, and then sends me
to Mandos...would you care to join me for midday meal?"

~*~*~

Cirdan smiled as he opened his door "Thranduil? What a rare but
pleasant surprise, do come in"

Upon entering the chamber, Thranduil wrinkled his nose "You smell of
that odd plant that Gildor smokes on occasion"

Cirdan snorted and motioned for him to take a seat "Of course, where do
you think He gets it from. Now, what brings you to my chamber?"

The Mirkwood king swallowed his pride and took a deep breath "I...I
need your help. Saes, help me".

The ancient lord kept his dumfounded shock hidden well behind a
slightly arched brow "I must admit, I am taken aback by your coming to
Me for help, what could be so difficult that You would seek assistance"

Thranduil rolled his eyes as he sighed "Tis rather embarrassing
but...eh, warg balls! Cirdan, you like pain...sexual pain. Elrond
entered me just this last night for the first time and...and he is
unbelievably huge! When I pleasured him with my mouth, I knew he was
big but by the blessed Valar I...I actually Begged him to remove
himself. Even now, just thinking about it, I am close to weeping from
just Remembering the pain. I want Elrond to be able to have at me,
but...but..."

Cirdan held up his hand as he smiled "Elrohir is overly large as well,
I am eagerly awaiting for when he claims me"

"You jest! If he is Half the size Elrond is..." Thranduil then
shuddered and shook his head "Help me Cirdan, I need to learn to adjust
to him, have you any knowledge that may assist me?"

The ancient lord looked at Thranduils pleading eyes, remembering back
to when this mighty king used to sit on his lap as an elfling to listen
to his tales. Smiling as he stood, Cirdan walked over to a large chest
close by "First, you need to have Elrond make a mild numbing oil. You
will then mix that oil with the one I am about to give you. Now, as far
as adjusting? Why don't you come over here Thran, I think I may have
something that will help".

~*~*~

Glorfindel sighed as he watched his fellows spar, feeling lonely and
lost, he returned to the barracks. The guards gave him curious looks,
normally Glorfindel would be in his office, not out in the main area
with them and one of the warriors sat down beside him "Missing your
mate?"

The seneschal sighed as a smile crept over his face "Aye, tis our first
time parted for any true length of time since the dance"

The entire barracks kept quiet as they ate their midday meal until
another spoke up "Tell us Captain, saes, what is it like with a...I
mean, he is a...err..."

"Paper stoker?"

"Aye Captain"

Glorfindel sat tall and chuckled "Oddly enough, he is rather strong!
Carrying those books around all day does wonders. I have actually
entertained having the lot of you do so to bulk up some!"

The entire room chuckled, then fell silent when they realized he was
serious "I jest not, Erestor is quite...impressive"

Only moments after his comment, the door to the barracks opened and
Erestor peered in. Knowing his fear, everyone kept still and Huradel
smiled kindly as he waved for him to enter "Saes master Erestor, enter,
you are welcome here...fear not"

Glorfindel stood when he noticed the large basket in his loves hands
"Ooo, you brought me food?"

Erestor cautiously stepped inside and lightly trembled "Aye, I thought
you may wish to share midday meal. Have you eaten?"

The seneschal took the basket as he shook his head "Nay, and you are
here just in time to dispel doubt in some unbelieving fellows of mine",
then whispered "Tell me, are you dressed under your robes?"

After Erestor nodded, Glorfindel again, whispered in his ear. The
adviser quickly pulled back with a look of shock on his face "You can
not be serious, I only just gained the courage to enter here"

Glorfindel gave a light pout and batted his eyes "Saes?"

Erestor let out a heavy defeated sigh "Fine, but you stay by my side"

The seneschal smiled form ear to ear "Of course my dark husband", then
pointed to one of his fellows "You, come over here and try to
withstrain Erestor from behind"

With much apprehension, the warrior slowly approached "Master Erestor,
it is well known this fear you hold toward warriors, I will not place
my hands on you until I have your consent"

The assembled warriors blinked in shock when Erestor removed his robe,
reviling his well muscled form beneath his leggings and underlay "I
give you permission to attempt to withstrain me"

Moments later, the seasoned warrior was laying on the ground grunting
in pain and Glorfindel smirked as he stepped forward "As I said,
perhaps I should have some of you helping in the library, stocking its
shelves and such"

Feeling a little more at ease, Erestor lightly smiled as the warriors
laughed, then began to pull Glorfindel to the door "You will have to do
without My mate for a few, tul Findel, let us eat"

~*~*~

After they ate, Lindir left Orophin in the dining hall, asking that he
wait there. When he finally returned, he requested that the tall
warrior follow him "So you say that you have procured a place that I
may hide for a while?"

When they arrived at a large wooden door, Lindir looked up and smiled
"This is the one place that you will truly be safe until your brother
calms", then turned and knocked on the door.

When it opened, the elleth inside smiled at the minstrel, then blinked
in shock at the tall lithe warrior "Valar Lin, you did not say that I
would be hiding a tree!"

Keeping his eyes on the elleth, Lindir blindly reached back and placed
his hand on Orophins chest as he worried his brow "Saes Miradel, help
this warrior...for me"

Miradel looked at Lindirs hand on the warriors chest and lightly smiled
"Alright, I will do this for you...but you owe me three new songs to be
played at the next gathering in the Hall of Falls"

Smiling, the minstrel nodded "Agreed"

When he finally entered the chamber, Orophin swallowed hard when it hit
him where he had heard this elleths name before, then startled when the
door shut behind him and the sound of the lock was plainly heard.
Slowly turning around to face the elleth that he was now completely
alone with, he respectfully bowed "Hannon le lady Mi...Miradel for your
kindness in letting me hide here".
