Ch 27~Beautiful Disaster

Chrissy was trying to get dressed when she heard a knock at the door, as it startled her, “Just a minute, please.”
She placed the dress over her body and walked over to the door. To her surprise it was Lord Elrond.
She asked, “Is there something the matter, Lord Elrond.”
He replied, “May I come in, Lady Chrissy?”
She extended her arm out, “Please come in, Lord Elrond” as she moved to let him in.
As he entered the room, he asked, “How are you feeling?”
Chrissy smiled, “I am quite fine! The wound is gone from my back…I have never felt better.”
Lord Elrond was relieved, “That is wonderful news.”
Then something unexpected happened, Chrissy felt faint for a moment and Lord Elrond sensed something strange.
He asked worried, “Are you all right, Lady Chrissy?”
Chrissy smiled as she lied through her teeth, “Yes, I think I’m just hungry that’s all.”
Lord Elrond walked over to gather a piece of fruit by her bedside table and handed it to her, “Please eat this, I am sure you are famished.”
Chrissy took the apple, “Thank you. I think I need to get my strength back,” She took a bite out of the apple and began eating it.
Then there was knock on the door as Chrissy walked quickly over to see that it was Arwen and let her inside her chambers.
Arwen asked concerned, “How is your back?”
Chrissy replied, “It has never been better as you can see,” she motioned at her movements.
Lord Elrond knew that he had other things to do as he excused himself out of her chambers.
He stated, “I see that you are well…,” he walked over and hugged Lady Chrissy as he exited the room.
Arwen knew she probably wanted to freshen up, “Chrissy, my handmaiden has a bath ready for you.”
Chrissy smiled, “Thank you, Arwen. I need a bath…”
Arwen had her handmaiden escort her to the bathing room but on the way there she saw someone unexpected.
Orlando was getting ready for a bath when he saw Lady Chrissy and it caused him to stop dead in his tracks.
There eyes met in the hall, Orlando spoke first, “Hello, Lady Chrissy.”
Chrissy was still angry with him but wondered if it was a mistake shutting him out, so she gave him a half smiled, “Hi, Prince Orlando,” as she mocked his title.
Orlando was happy to hear her say something, “How are you feeling?” he asked with concern.
Chrissy said in a cocky way, “As you can see, I am quite fine. Now if you will excuse me, I am going to take a bath.”
Orlando extended his arm out and said, “After you, Mi lady.”
Chrissy walked into the bathing area but turned as she saw him walking into the other bathing room, “Orlando,” she called out to him.
She knew that was not the smartest thing in the world but in her heart love was all she had for him.
Orlando was about to walk into the other bathing room as he heard his name being called. He turned around to hear what Lady Chrissy had to say to him.
She smiled at him, “Ona amin Coiasira,” (Give me time) then she turned and walked into the bathing room.
Orlando was surprised again by her Elven language skills and then he smiled as he knew there was hope for them. Then he turned into the bathing area.
Chrissy stripped down and got into the hot water as it felt good to the touch of her skin. But memories of Orlando flashed in her head and she began to get sad. It was a trying time for both of them and she was not ready to give in just yet.
Orlando had just gotten into the water when he too had memories swarming in his mind of Lady Chrissy. He wanted so badly to touch her and to kiss all the bad memories away. But he knew that it was not the time now and he keep trying.

Chrissy washed her hair and lathered the soap on her body. Then she rinsed her hair and her body. But it was time to get out because loneliness was starting to sink into her mind. She got out of the tub, rinsed off and placed a robe around her body.
Then she returned back to her room where she got dressed again and to her surprise someone was knocking on the door.
It was Arwen, “I trust that my handmaiden took care of you and your needs,” as she walked inside of her Chambers.
Chrissy smiled, “Of course, Arwen. Your handmaiden was very attentive to my needs,” as they heard a knock on the door, “They both giggled as Arwen went to open the door, Chrissy said, “I must be popular today.”
Arwen laughed, “I guess so, my dear,” as she walked over to see Legolas and Jenny standing behind the door.
Chrissy said with happiness, “Well come on in, it’s a party.”
Arwen smiled, “I am glad to see you up, Jenny.”
Jenny replied, “I had to come and see Chrissy…Thank you Arwen, I am glad to see my self up too.”
Legolas knew that it was probably a good thing that he left because he had a meeting with Lord Elrond about a few things before dinner. So, he excused him self from the room.
Chrissy was in her new room with Jenny and Arwen. They all were talking for hours when dinner time had approached.
Then the same thing that happened when Lord Elrond was in the room to Chrissy as she got dizzy and began to fall over but Arwen ran over and pulled her up before she fell.
Holding on to Arwen, she quickly held on, “Thank you, Arwen. I felt so strange for a moment. I do not know why I got lightheaded all of a sudden.” She said.
Then Chrissy felt her stomach began to rumble and knew that must have been why she almost fainted.
As she held her stomach, “I am famished! May we go to dinner, now?” Chrissy asked.
Orlando finished up bathing and walked back to his chambers to get dressed for dinner. After he dressed, he walked out onto the balcony and stared out into the mountains.
Then, he had heard a knock at his door, “Come in,” Orlando asked.
It was Legolas and he heard his brother as he walked into his chambers, then onto the balcony.
Orlando turned around, “Legolas, this is quite a surprise. I thought you would be with Lady Jenny.”
Legolas smirked, “I would be, however, she was with Lady Chrissy and Arwen. I decided to leave and give them time.”
Orlando asked, “How is Lady Chrissy? I saw her briefly in the hallway a few hours ago.”
Legolas smiled, “Lady Chrissy is much better.”
Orlando was glad to hear the news, “Thank you for letting me know.”
Legolas the stated, “I am going to meet Lady Jenny for dinner. Will you be joining us?”
Orlando replied, “I will be there shortly. I need to be alone right now.”
Legolas hugged his brother and then left to go meet Lady Jenny. He felt terrible for Orlando right now. But he knew that somehow they would work it out.
Haldir had gone back to his chambers and to his surprise Lady Lanwe was sitting on the bed.
He stared at her for a moment, “What troubles you, Lady Lanwe?”
She smiled, “Nothing troubles me…except you.”
Haldir grinned, “Well, then…I can take care of that for you…”
Lanwe giggled, “Take me to bed and…”
Haldir hushed her lips, “Say no more” as he began to undress her.
Arwen and Jenny were also hungry as they headed off to the dinner hall. On the way down, they ran into Legolas and Jenny ran up to him.
She smiled, “Long time no see, luv!” Jenny stated.
With much happiness, “I see my darling, you’ve missed me.” Legolas said as he reached over to kiss Jenny.
Chrissy saw the way the two kissed and hugged. She began to feel a little jealous and she longed for Orlando. Except she could not let herself feel this way and she turned to Arwen to speak about what was on the menu tonight.
Arwen and Chrissy walked into the dining hall and sat down at the table for honored guests. Legolas and Jenny came in to join the crowded table of Elves.
The meal was very Elven like with fruits and different types of vegetables. Also, the meats were seasoned with some kind of spice and the goblets were filled with a sweet wine.
Jenny had gone over to speak with Lady Galadriel and she whispered something into her ear. They both smiled and giggled at whatever she had said to Lady Galadriel.
Legolas and Jenny had gotten up a few times to slow dance with the other couples. Chrissy smiled and put on a pretty face but deep down inside, she wished Orlando was here to dance with her on the dance floor.
After everyone ate, Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel stood up and ask something to Lady Chrissy that was not expected.
Lord Elrond asked, “Would you mind, singing for everyone Lady Chrissy?” as he smiled upon her.
Chrissy was petrified of singing in front of everyone and she gave Jenny a glare. She knew that Jenny was the one that told Lady Galadriel and Lord Elrond that she could sing.
Humbly she answered, “I will love to sing.” She gave her friend a smirk and then a wink, “If Jenny would come and play the piano while I sing?”
Jenny’s eyes got big and she knew what comes around goes around. She also knew that Chrissy did not fight fair sometimes.

Lady Galadriel asked, “Please sing a selection from your world. We all would love to hear a piece from your time,” The Lady of light thought it was a good idea as she glanced her way, “Yes, Lady Jenny, please play the piano for us.”
They both walked up to the staging area where there was a piano and Chrissy silently prayed that her voice would not crack or sound terrible as they began to play.
Jenny sat down and began to get comfortable with the very old Piano. She did not know what to play and began to play a familiar tune that Chrissy knew.
Before Chrissy started, a familiar face walked into the dining hall and her heart began to hurt. However, she had to put on a performance as they requested.
Nervously she greeted, “Good evening everyone, I want to sing a selection that is called Beautiful Disaster. I hope you enjoy it.” She stated.
Orlando walked in the dining hall and saw a beautiful face that made him stop in his tracks. He was so thankful that she was well again and that she was not in pain anymore, at least not on the outside.
Then he noticed that she was about to sing and sat down in the back of the room hear her sing.
Orlando’s thoughts, “By the Valar, she is beautiful and strong. I am so weak and afraid to move at this very moment. I have got to make her see that we belong together because if I do not, she may never know that I really love her.”
Chrissy’s thoughts, “Here goes nothing.”
Jenny started to play the song on the piano and Chrissy opened her mouth to sing the words.
As Jenny played the tune, she knew that it was about Orlando.

He drowns in his dreams
an exquisite extreme I know
he’s damned as he seems
more heaven than a heart could hold
and if I tried to save him
my whole world would cave in
It just ain’t right
Lord, it just ain’t right
oh and I don’t know
I don’t know what he is after
But he’s so beautiful
Jenny looked over and saw Orlando sitting at the back table. He was looking intensively as Chrissy told a story about him and very intrigued by her friend. Somehow she knew that the two would reconcile soon.
Such a beautiful disaster
And, if I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful?
Or just a beautiful disaster

Legolas gazed upon Lady Chrissy as she sang so beautifully. She was very refined in her singing skills and could hold an audience with her beautiful melody. He did not know that Jenny could play the Piano and thought that this was a surprise to know something about her that was not revealed to him.

He’s magic and myth
As strong as what I believe
A tragedy with
More damage than a soul should see
but do I try to change him
So hard not to blame him
Hold me tight
Baby, Hold me tight
Oh, when I don’t know
don’t know what he is after
But he is so beautiful, He such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful? Or just a beautiful disaster
I’m longing for love and the logical
But he’s only happy hysterical
I’m searching for some kind of miracle
Waiting for so long
Waiting for so long
He’s soft to the touch
But frayed at the ends he breaks
He’s never enough
And still he’s more than I can take

(The piano is playing with a short pause and Chrissy looks right at Orlando with tears streaming down her face)

Chrissy’s thoughts, “I have never met someone so devoted to me and yet love’s me for me. However, he has so much angry and unwilling to forgive. How can I ever be with him? God, I am so torn but I love him”

Orlando’s thoughts, “Her glace, the way she sings and yet can humble herself enough to shed tears in front of a large crowd of strangers. She loves me, what a gift to me and yet I can not give her what she needs right now, forgiveness and peace. Which path will I take? Losing her or swallowing my pride?”

Orlando wanted nothing more than to make her understand that he would doing anything to change what had happened today.

And I don’t know
don’t know what he is after
But he is so beautiful, He such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful? Or just a beautiful disaster
He’s beautiful, Lord he is so beautiful
He is beautiful

Jenny stood up and bowed while every one was clapping. She glanced over at Legolas to see him cheering for them. Then she noticed Orlando as his eyes never left Chrissy.
Even Lord Elrond and Lady Galadriel was applauding at the beautiful melody that there guests performed.
Chrissy wiped her eyes as she regained her composer from that song she just sung. It was so hard for her to sing because Orlando was in the crowd.
Lady Galadriel noticed throughout the song how she gazed upon Prince Orlando, fondly. She knew that Lady Chrissy cared a great deal for him and would end up forgiving him in time.
Lady Galadriel stood up as she changed the focus on her and Lord Elrond while Chrissy got herself together. They were making a toast to there new guests. Also, they toasted for having Prince Legolas and Prince Orlando with them.
Chrissy walked out into the cool night air, on to the balcony, sat down and regained herself. That song took a toll on her emotions and it almost lost it when Orlando came walking through that door.
Orlando had seen her escape onto the balcony as he heard the way she cried and walked to see if he could sooth her tears. He sat down next to his maiden and put his arm around her shoulder.
Chrissy was involved in her thoughts when she felt someone’s arm come around her neck. She popped opened her eyes to find Orlando sitting next to her trying to relieve her sadness.

Softly she asked, “Why did this have to happen? It hurts so much to know that I love you but I can not let you go. I need time to sort through all of this…” Tears streamed down her already stained face.

Orlando could not speak for a minute, “I would give anything to go back in time to take away that moment where I disregarded your plea and shoved you out of the way. I cannot tell how much pain I am in for hurting you the way I did. I love you and knowing that I could lose you…would cause me to fade,” he pulled her close to him.
Chrissy searched his soul and almost got lost in those chocolate brown eyes. Somehow she could not trust him and maybe in time she would be able to but as for now, she could not.
She moved out of his embrace, “Orlando, shut your mouth! I cannot take it…..your sweet words….that sexy smile...I cannot give you want you…not yet… I am sorry, Orlando.”
She could not fall into his arms like a sick, lost puppy. This was not her style at all and for a beautiful man to take that from her was just was not going to happen.
Then Chrissy got sick to her stomach and felt like she could hurl any moment. She ran over to the ledge and began to throw up over the side as her stomach was in knots. She started to feel weak as she grasped the sides of the balcony. The whole outside began to spin and the world seemed like it was ending.
Orlando rushed over to her side as she began to sway back and forth. He did not know what was wrong with her and she clasped in his arms.
The Prince walked in hurriedly into the ball and the attention was all on him as he rushed over to Lord Elrond.
