Afraid of spiders, love? (25.1./25)
Beginning of the happily ever after...
Notes: This is only the first half of the last chapter. The beginning of the end so to say.... This is the nice/cute part. The hot one is waiting to be typed....
Dom clasped Billy’s hand, walking down the street hand in hand with his friend. Boyfriend, Dom corrected himself, turning his head slightly to see the last rays of sunlight cast their light on Billy’s profile.
Billy had noticed Dom’s look. “What?” he asked, smiling.
“Nothing,” Dom answered, a smile enlightening his face again after such a long time. “Just remembering what a lucky man I am...”
Instead of an answer, Billy wrapped his arms tightly around Dom’s waist, pulling the ohter man against him for a sweet kiss on soft lips.
“Hmm... Tastes like more...” Dom grinned against Billy’s lips. “Later,” he reminded himself and pulled back from Billy, walking through the porch of one of the houses next to them. “Here it is,” he said to Billy, still smiling, and rang the doorbell.
“It’s a nice house!” Billy looked up and turned around on his heels. “Your mum has chosen a beautiful place to live at...”
Before Dom could answer the door flew open and Elijah appeared behind it. “Dom!” he exclaimed happily and wrapped his arms around his older brother’s waist, pressing his face against Dom’s stomach as he couldn’t reach higher. Laughing Dom ruffled Elijah’s hair when he heard a small sad voice muffled by his own body speak. “Where have you benn, Dom? I’ve missed you!”
Dom shared a little smile with Billy before he got on his knees to be on Elijah’s eyelevel. “I’ve been very ill, Lij,” he explained tenderly. “But I’m much better now. Everything’s alright...”
Elijah nodded earnestly, pretending to be more grown up than the 10-year-old boy he was. But then he frowned and looked down to where Dom was kneeling. “Did they make you eat that horrible medicine mum always makes me eat when I’m ill, too?”
Dom stared at his little brother who was being totally serious and felt hysterical laughter rise up in his throat, but he swallowed it, wiping away the tears that had formed in his eyes with the back of his hand. “No,” he said, his voice soundin a little choked. “I didn’t have to eat the medicine.”
“ok.” Lij started to jump up and down excitedly. “Dom! I’ll show you my new room!”
Smiling Dom stood up, grasping Billy’s hand tightly in his as he followed his younger brother into the house, Elijah watching him closely.
“Dominic!” Monica, Dom’s mother, greeted her son heartily. “How are you feeling?” she asked carefully.
“Better,” Dom replied with a big, happy smile on his face, glancing at Billy whose hand he was still holding securely in his.
“Dom!” Elijah was standing on top of the stairway, shouting down his brother’s name to gain his attention. “Come to see my room! It’s really cool!”
Dom cocked his eyebrows apologetically at his mother and follwed his younger brother into his room. He finally came to stand in the middle of the room, but there was no trace of Elijah.
“Where’s Lij?” Billy asked, having entered the room afetr Dom.
“Don’t know.” Dom shrugged his shoulders. “Perhaps he...”
“Broarr!!” Dom was interrupted bby a loud growling scream and Billy let out a girlish squeal, jumping behind Dom’s back.
“Jesus, Billy!” Dom laughed when a grinning Lij appeared from under a pile of blankets and pillows, holding a fluffy dinosaur in his hands.
“Look! I’ve made a cave for my T-Rex,” he told Dom and Billy proudly, pointing at the blankets on the floor.
“Yes, great, Lij!” Dom was still laughing when he faced Billy who was looking quite pale. “Good to know that you’ll always protect me if ever a big, dangerous fluffy dinosaur should attack me, oh my manly boyfriend!”
“That’s not funny!” Billy pouted, an embarassed blush creeping up his cheeks.
“Don’t be angry, princess!” Dom grinned and kissed the back of Billy’s hand. “Don’t fear, I can take care of dangerous toys and even spiders if you shoould fear them, too, quite well myself!”
“Haha,” Billy snorted. “It’s really a cool room,” he adressed Elijah, pointing at some model-cars on a shelf. “I used to collect those, too, when I was your age.”
Dom nodded and cocked his head into the direction of the door. “Hey, let’s go, guys... I think mum is waiting for us downstairs...”
“Are you afraid that he will run away from you?” Elijah asked Billy when they were walking down the stairs.
Billy stared at him with wide eyes, perplexed. “What?”
Elijah pointed at their joined hands. “When mum keeps holding my hand like that she’s afraid that I might run away and do something stupid!” he explained.
“I don’t think he’ll dare to run away ever again,” Billy replied afetr a while, looking deeply into Dom’s eyes, not wanting to miss their warm gaze ever again. “Much less he’ll dare to do something stupid...”
