Part 24
Part 24…
Erestor sighed as he tightened the fastening of his pack, watching as Glorfindel tied the now much treasured bedroll to the bottom of his own bag and wished that they did not have to return to Imladris. Their solitary week in the wild was over. The last few days had passed by in blur, the days being filled with quiet conversations as the two elves had learned about each other. And the nights… his smile turned wicked as his gaze lingered on the swell of a well muscled buttock… well the nights had been filled with soft touches, whispered words, ardent kisses and passion beyond his wildest dreams. Abandoning his pack for the moment he stood and went to Glorfindels side, placing a soft kiss on the smooth cheek. Wrapping his arms around the trim waist he tucked his head against the blondes’ neck and breathed in the sweet smell of soil and fresh grass that was mingled with Glorfindels own, distinctive scent.
“I don’t want to go.” Erestor felt arms wrapped about his own waist as Glorfindel hugged him back. “Neither do I love, neither do I.”
They held each other for several more moments before, with a soft puff of air that conveyed his displeasure, Glorfindel pulled back. Rubbing his knuckles across Erestors jaw he tuned to call for Palia, knowing that they had to start their journey home soon or else they would not reach Imladris until after dark. Erestor watched him go, for some reason an immeasurable sadness enveloping him. Turning he went to the remains of the camp fire and set to scattering the ash, remaining logs and rocks about on the ground, eliminating as much of the site as possible. Hearing Glorfindel return, accompanied by the steady clop of horse’s hooves, he reluctantly assembled his weaponry and slung his pack across his back. He waited until Glorfindel had done likewise and then watched the agile elf mount Palia. Taking the hand that was extended down to him Erestor swung up beside his lover. Feeling Glorfindel urge Palia into motion he allowed his gaze to sweep once more over what he had come to think of as ‘their little glade’ before resting his head against one broad shoulder and let Glorfindel guide them home.

Lindir peered over the balcony railing, watching as Elrond stood, alone in the court yard, waiting for his two most trusted friends to cross the bridge and join him. The young elf had been pleasantly surprised when Elrond had taken care of him the morning after his slight, oh alright, excessive overindulgence, and he had had several more surprise through out the remainder of the week. Elrond had suted ted that Lindir move a few of his more personal items into his chambers and now three robes, two pairs of leggings, one tunic, and a hair brush, all which belonged to the minstrel, could be found in appropriate places in the elf Lords suite. The two lovers had taken to spending almost all their spare moments together, from the evening directly following dinner to the morning prior to leaving for their respective duties. Lindir had to admitt het he was enjoying their evening conversations beside the hearth almost as much as he was enjoying the mornings when he helped Elrond bath and dress, the half elf repaying his assistance in kind. He was a little worried that things would change from the pattern that they had settled into by the return of Lord’s Glorfindel and Erestor, for it was common knowledge that Elrond would usually spend his evenings in the company of one or the other. With a wistful look he watched the three Lords greet each other before turning to slip back inside the house.
Elrond waited until his two friends had dismounted before formally welcoming them home. Almost hesitantly, as though afraid to hear the answer to his question, he asked, “So, have you reconciled your differences?”
The two elves looked at each other and a silent understanding seemed to pass between them before Erestor turned back to Elrond. “Yes, I do believe we have reached an understanding.”
A snort could be heard from Glorfindel before the blonde added his own opinion. “Yes things have been settled between us and we a more than prepared to behave in a manner that is more appropriate to our new... affinity for each other.”
“Good, I am glad. Now I shall allow you to retire to your rooms as I am certain you are rather tired from your trip and would enjoy a hot bath, a decent meal and a comfortable bed.”
Again Glorfindel and Erestor exchanged looks before nodding deferentially to their Lord and moving off towards their rooms. Elrond watch them go, wondering what he had missed, then shrugged it aside, he had a lover waiting for him and he wasn’t planning on delaying his rendezvous to speculate over something as trite as a look. Humming softly to himself he moved towards his own room ais wis waiting lover.
