Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh!" he whispered. "Yes, Piglet?" "Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw. "I just wanted to be sure of you."

But he could not stop the hate from lacing his tone as he replied, "Since you are not taking the time to help Legolas, then Glorfindel and I will be the ones to try and fix this problem." He knew what he said and how he said it would be painful for Elrond, but he didn't care. Having said all he came to say he turned on his heels and made his way to Legolas' room, quickly shutting the door behind him.

Elrond found himself staring after his advisor, shame written all across his features.

Elrond did not have the heart any more to walk back to the library, so he returned to the room, as he felt that he needed his sons' company.

When he opened the door, he was surprised to see Elrohir and Estel smiling.

Elrond hurried over, his heart beating faster and harder as he reached the bed, and saw Elladan awake with a weak smile upon his face.

"Elladan..." Elrond did not know what more he could say, his heart still pounding in his chest as he stared at his eldest son.

"'dar..." Elladan said weakly. He was thirsty and his parched throat prevented him from pronouncing the words fully.

"I will bring you some water and food, ion-nin." Elrond said to his son, and then he turned to his younger children and said to them, "Talk to him, let him know how much you love him and have missed him... while I will bring him water and food."

Elrohir and Estel nodded to him, and then, turned their attention back to their brother.

Elrond left the room smiling, heading for the kitchen where he set to finding something for his son to eat and drink so that he could regain some of the strength he had lost.

As Elrond left the kitchen, with a tray in his hands, he almost dropped said tray, and all his hard work would have fallen like nothing.

His eyes fell upon Legolas who came with Erestor. Elrond was beyond furious as he saw them, and he didn't think before he spoke.

"What are you doing here? You should be in bed!" he snapped at the princeling.

Erestor glared at his lord, while he moved his hand over the princeling's shoulder, squeezing, to let Legolas know that he wasn't alone.

"Stop that, my lord." Erestor said, his eyes pleading with Elrond.

"Elladan is awake, and I do not wish to see him near him, he has caused enough trouble already!"

Legolas flinched at the words, but only one word escaped his lips, "Elladan..."

"Do not move!" Elrond warned Legoals, as he did not want him to be in the same room as his sons.

Legolas' gaze flickered between Erestor and Elrond, not knowing why the lord did not want him to be with his friends, not knowing what he had apparently done wrong.

But the prince did dare to move, and by moving past Elrond he caused the tray in the lord's hand to fall to the floor, though he didn't stop even though he heard it clatter to the floor, all he wanted to do was to find his friends. It was Elrond's harsh words that caused him to stop.

Elrond looked at the floor and saw all his hard work that he had done to help Elladan, and his rage boiled over, he was angry before but now he was pissed.

"You Mordor Orc!"

Legolas stopped, swallowing back the tears that threatened to fall, not wanting the lord to see him as weak as he really was. He looked over at Elrond, blinked back more tears, and then he ran off, fleeing towards the air, and the nature that called to him from outside. He would seek comfort in the trees, and then maybe he would find some of those herbs that made him feel better physically.

Erestor knew that he should follow Legolaas, but first he felt that he should give Elrond a taste of his own medicine. "And what are you, my lord? What is it that makes you? You are the one that brings this into your home, you are the Mordor Orc." He snapped. When he saw the look Elrond gave him he added, his voice cold, "You better hope and pray to the Valar that I find him in one piece, not doing anything we will all be sorry for, because of your foolish attitude, or you know what will happen shall the king hear of it."

And with that, Erestor ran outside, seeking Legolas, calling out for him, trying to let him know that he was not alone, even as he inwardly cursed Elrond.

End of Chapter 22.
