Erestor smiled as he looked at Haldir's and Glorfindel's battering and he wondered how long their conversation would last and who would win that discussion.
He was glad to see Haldir again and they spend those two days just talking when Haldir visited their room. Haldir had sometimes purposely teased them about their bond and Glorfindel was always on defensive side about it.
He was delighted to feel his husband becoming well and he had never left his side these few days, except when he needed to bathe or to go to bathroom. He laughed at the Haldir's joke and Glorfindel just shook his head, liking the way Haldir cheered up this room.
He admitted that being alone with Erestor would be uncomfortable and he was glad Haldir spared his time to spent it with them.
The conversation had became very interesting with Haldir telling one of his jests and Glorfindel's laughter filled the room together with his husbands.
But their fun had ended when they encountered Elrond rushing into the room and closing the door behind him with the haste, catching his breath while he tried to say something to them.
Erestor raised his eyebrows in question and he wondered why did Elrond barged into the room without knocking. Elrond looked very pale than usual and Glorfindel was the first one to ask what was amiss.
"Elrond, what is wrong mellon-niou lou look like you had been chased by the ghost, just now."
Glorfindel asked and Haldir laughed at that remark, suspecting that Elrond's unease was somehow related to Arthon. As it was, he was right. Elrond looked for the place to hide because he was just informed that Arthon had crossed his borders and that he should be here in about an hour.
Elrond didn't expect for the other one to arrive so early and he was now nervous and his strength had left him since the messenger delivered that information to him.
He didn't want to deal with the older elf now and he wanted to escape, and to skip those coming formal greetings. He didn't know who to send to take his place and the only person that came to his mind was Erestor. He knew that the other couldn't be away from Glorfindel for long but still he would ask of Erestor to take his place, while he would escape to his study to think.
"Arthon. Arthon is arriving in an hour. That is what is amiss." Elrond stuttered and Erestor smiled at his friend, understanding Elrond's situation. He was glad he was going to see his cousin again but he knew for a fact that Arthon was indeed though elf to deal with. He even scared Elrond sometimes and that said something about his father's side of family.
His cousins and siblings were always cold and he was the only one that possessed a kind mind, and he never raised himself above any standards. Haldir told him about Arthon's and Elrond's upcoming marriage and he wondered if his Lord would survive that bond.
After all Arthon's last wife left him and he suspected Elrond would abandon their marriage after a while too. Unless if he tried to change Arthon but knowing his cousin he reckoned that can never be done.
In the past Elrond was taken by Arthon and he had even lost his young heart to him but Elrond's dreams had never came true about them being together. Arthon hated half-elves and he despised the elves that mixed their blood with mortals.
Arthon was a skilled warrior and that was his calling but he never granted any words of gratitude to his army or to anyone serving him. Erestor was once close with his cousin when they were children but when Arthon turned his ripe age of hundred, his heart changed into the cold stone.
It might be from the abuse his father bestowed upon him but after Arthon stepped into adulthood, Erestor knew that Arthon had changed very much. Erestor gld atd at Glorfindel and he received the curios glare coming from his husband.
He knew that Glorfindel wondered what he was thinking about, but he just ignored the Elda's questioning looks for a while. Now his friend was in need and he needed to give him some strength to face his past once again.
"Elrond, why are you so nervous. Please take a seat. Are you all right." Erestor responded, and he came back from his thoughts while he got up and he pulled Elrond to the chair beside the bed."
"Erestor, I have a favor to ask of you. I know you and Glorfindel need to be together all the time but this favor will separate you two just for a few minutes. I need to ask of you if you could greet your cousin when he arrives. I would do it myself, but I need some time alone to rest and think. I cannot face this now. Please, please would you do this for me."
Elrond was begging for his friend to understand where he was coming from and Erestor just nodded with his head as he saw his friends desperate expression on his face.
Glorfindel stared at this sight and he wondered why did Elrond look so lost. He knew that his husband knew something about Elrond's state of mind and he knew he had to investigate this later. Why did Elrond ask Erestor to greet his old tutor? Was he scared of him now that he was meant to marry that old fool?
That might be it but he wasn't sure because he was in the dark right now. He decided not to get involved into this right now and he would let Erestor handle this. He was tired himself and he wanted to get some sleep before the night arrives and those new nightmares come to haunt him again.
"I shall do it, but I will let chief librarian arrange the rooms for him. I cannot leave Glorfindel for too long but I will great my cousin and I will make apologies on your behalf. You may go and rest now, Elrond, because after tomorrow my cousin will be in your hands." Erestor smiled as he saw Elrond's eyes widen and he just tapped his friend on the shoulder with comforting gesture.
"How can I repay you for this, mellon. I shall indeed go and get some sleep and I will be back in the morning to check on you two." He turned to Glorfindel." How do you fare, mellon-nin? Is there anything you need from me right now?" Elrond asked with the soft voice and Glorfindel just shook his head.
"Nay, I am fine. I have all the care I need on this world. Go rest, Elrond. You look more sickly than me in this moment." He smiled and Erestor met Glorfindel's gaze, smiling at his husbands understanding attitude. He knew that Glorfindel wanted to know why Elrond was so uneasy at that moment and he silently thanked him for not asking too many questions about it.
"Haldir," Elrond turned to Marchwarden and Haldir smugly grinned as he met Elrond's gaze.
"Can you follow me, my friend. I need to talk to you in my study. Would you two mind if I steal him for a while." Erestor and Glorfindel both said they wouldn't and Haldir got up from the bed.
"Of course, mellon. I shall go with you." They went out of the room and Glorfindel stared at the Erestor waiting for the other one to start talking. But Erestor was lost in his thoughts and he realized that he couldn't waste any more time if he wanted to greet his cousin on time.
He went into the other room where his two robes lay, because he requested them earlier from the servants as he wanted to change his clothes for the time he stayed here. Glorfindel's gaze followed his husband as the dark haired elf took away into the other room without even saying one word to him.
He waited and waited and after five minutes Erestor came out dressed in his brown robe. He started to brush his hair in front of Glorfindel and the other elf scowled as he felt ignored and isolated from all of this situation.
"Husband." He started." Could you be so kind and let me know what is going on with Elrond. He seemed to me like a scared elfling just now. What are you all hiding that I don't know?"
Erestor almost choked as he heard the word Glorfindel just called him by, and he repeated that word just to make sure he didn't misheard it.
"Husband? You just called me husband. Glorfindel?" He opened his mouth in a shock but Glorfindel just waved it off. He wanted for Erestor to start speaking about Elrond and Arthon and he didn't want to explain why that word had slipped his mouth when he called Erestor husbhusband.
"Stop repeating me. I called you that because that is what you are to me now. Why? Is that so shocking when you hear it coming form me? Now stop fretting and start spilling everything out. My curiosity can't take your silence anymore."
Erestor smiled at his bonded and he almost spilled one tear of happiness as he heard Glorfindel's' acknowledgment of their marriage.
He never hoped that Glorfindel would accept their marriage so fast but he was happy it had happened. He felt Glorfindel's probing look on him and he pulled himself from his thoughts, starting to explain to Glorfindel about Elrond's fear of Arthon.

Semar changed Huor's bandages on his stomach and he released the sigh of relief as he saw that the wound did not get infected. He shifted as he felt that uncomfortable gaze coming from Hour again and he started speaking, irritated by the others probing glances.
"What?" Semar hissed." Why do you look at me so? Do I have something on my face." He rolled his eyes as the other grinned and naughtily retorted to Semar's question.
"ot yot yet. I was just imagining how would your eyes look in the throes of passion. That is all." Other elf said gently and Semar blushed as the other expressed his thoughts so bluntly.
"Is that right"Huor nodded." Because I was thinking of you the same way." Semar said teasingly and Huor looked at him in disbelief as he asked of him if that response was true.
"Really?" Huor asked suspecting that the other would chide him again for his blunt ways.
"No, you idiot. I was thinking how your eyes would look when I poked them out and fed them to Wargs. I would never think of you in any passionate way. You disgust me." Semar said that and he flinched at the insults he just released and he wanted to apologize to Huor but his pride wouldn't let him.
"Watch what you are saying, beauty. You are in my rooms and I have the power to kick you out." Huor warned him and Semar's anger didn't go down, instead it came in new waves for no reason.
"Do not call me beauty, you filthy peace of orcs dunk. When will you realize I don't have interest in you that way?" Semar yelled and Huor just grinned as he saw that beautiful face drowning in anger and he suddenly wanted to kiss those pouty lips. He knew that he wouldn't dare to do something like that but he was tempted nonetheless.
"And when will you realize that most of the times I only jest with you and you always take the things so seriously." Huor said in honesty and he knew that he had won this one when he saw a guilt coming from those eyes as Semar regretted his earlier reaction.
"Oh, I didn't know that." Semar lowered his head and he looked at Huor again trying to figure out what kind of sick humor was Huor making just now. He didn't know that the other one jested like that. It seemed like it was a Huor's life mission to irritate him like this, making him angry and releasing that sudden urge to kill the other elf. Or did the other just harbor the death wish, who knew what crazy Hour's mind held inside.
"Next time warn me when you joke like that." Semar said seriously and Huor broke into the laughter, as Semar felt embarrassed for cursing Huor those last few minutes.
"Do not laugh at me." Semar felt offended and Huor just shook his head, taking his time to recover from the pain his laughter brought to his stomach.
"I am not laughing at you. You are so grumpy, Semar. You sometimes remind me of the pregnant she-elf, who's always attacking people under the charge of the hormones. Relax, little one. I mean no harm if I tease you a little. You are so serious for your age."
Huor said that in gentle voice and Semar's gaze softened as he realized for the first time that Huor's bragging ways sometimes didn't mean any harm. He had always been on the war line with Huor and he just now remembered that the most of the fights with Huor were his own fault and he had provoked them in some way.
Was it because his heart had harbored some kind of great feeling toward the other one and it had a need to protect itself by forming this tough shell that refused Huor every time they met. He didn't know why he acted so defensibly.
He knew he cared for Huor but he would never admit that to his confused heart and he desperately wanted to cover those damned feelings. Semar didn't want for other one to know that he had feelings for him, but Huor had got him to admit that to him when they ended up fighting last time.
He knew that he would never again say anything like that to him and he would made sure that the words from his head would never slip unnoticed again.
