Amcar -THE END
Chapter 21 - Amcar
When Elrond finally arrived, I would have laughed if it were not for my pain. He was still dressed in a nightshirt, with his hair sticking out like he was a wild man.
He was speaking softly as he caressed my cheek to gain my attention. "Legolas?"
I nodded weakly and closed my eyes. This was quickly taking my strength, and I felt inside like something was trying to pull me apart.
"Your baby is ready to come now," he said and wiped off some sweat from my forehead. "But since you are not female, you are not gifted with a birth canal, so we will have to move you to the healing hut where we can take out the child."
I must have looked frightened, when in fact I was not. Honestly, I did not understand much of what he said; I just wanted the pain gone. Had it been called for, I would jump around on one leg crowing and batting my arms, anything to have it done.
"There, there," Elrond whispered, smiling reassuring before he turned to Elrohir who was running around like a headless chicken. Again I could have laughed, and I think I managed a smile as Elrond told him to be of use and fetch Haldir.
Elrond was holding my hand as I felt the pain rise again, and the urge to throw up returned. I had never in my life cared for the elven lord, but still he was by my side. "I am sorry" I whispered, feeling fatigued already
"Silly child, don't be." He spoke softly and again wiped my forehead free from sweat.
I could feel Elrond grow impatient no matter how hard he tried to hide it from me. I saw his gaze shift, the corner of his mouth twitch, and with each contraction I had his brows furrowed further until they almost met in the middle.
When Elrohir came barging in closely followed by Haldir, also dressed in his nightshirt and leggings, Elrond let out a sigh of relief.
"Oh," Haldir gasped as he watched me. Elrond apparently made him pick me up, so he and Elrohir could carry me across the courtyard.
As soon as Haldir lifted me gently, pain hit me like a hammer. I opened my eyes and glared at the worried silver haired elf, before I slapped him so it sang. "You! You did this to me!" I yelled.
If I had been more coherent I would have heard Haldir let out a sigh as a stone fell from his heart. "Hush now," he whispered and kissed my clammy brow as he began to walk. Elrohir insisted on holding my hand as Haldir walked over the courtyard in deep snow. For some reason they had decided to not argue, as they just both wanted to be close.
When we arrived Haldir laid me down in a bed. Elrohir was arguing with Elrond, about what I did not bother, but I just heard their voices in heated discussion.
All I sensed was Elrond, who sat down next to me, smiling a bit more nervously. "Here, chew this." He gently fed me some bitter roots. I complied and felt myself grow drowsy quickly.

When I woke again I felt my abdomen cramp and let out a pained yelp. I found Elrohir at my side quickly, handing me some hot tea. "Try to drink some of this," he said and smiled impishly.
I just drank and slumped down in the bed again, and was about to drift off to sleep when I heard something squeak softly. I quickly felt my abdomen. I hadn't even noticed until now that the large belly was gone. There was only a slight swelling.
The child! Of course I had forgotten about the child. I felt a pang of guilt that I could forget. "E-Elrohir" I whispered hoarsely.
"Yes my love," he said sweetly. He sat down next to me with a bundle of midnight blue fabric in his arms.
"Is… Is t-that?" I shuddered and rested my hand weakly on Elrohir's thigh.
"Yes," he said with a bright smile, and his eyes seemed to twinkle as he looked down in the fabric, before he slowly laid it down in my arms. "Meet Amcar," he said and smiled nervously.
"Amcar?" I looked up at Elrohir, feeling so surreal that I did not even know how to cope.
"You have been sleeping for three days, and so Haldir and I named your son." Elrohir said and rested back against the headboard on the bed.
"My son?" I whispered as I gently removed the midnight blue fabric to reveal a little face. Little silver curls and large blue eyes met me, and when Amcar made a facial expression so close to Haldir's ever pouting mouth, I began to cry and laugh at once. I felt so happy I did not know what to do. "My son, my morning-glory," I whispered tenderly. The child was very unimpressed with my emotional outburst and yawned.
Elrohir chuckled. "So do I call you nana or ada?"
I chuckled with him. "Nana would perhaps be the most appropriate."
And now I knew. Everything would be all right. All would solve it self, for now I had something to fight for myself, I had a family.

EPILOGE;
I had quickly adapted to my new role as a mother. And Elrohir had shown remarkable talents as a father, tending to both Amcar's and my every need.
Haldir was bragging as the proud father. Erestor seemed to overhear him, and at first I had thought that Erestor did not care for Haldir's child, but one day I had found him leaned over the crib cooing to my son. He excused himself as he blushed, telling me that he had just walked past my chambers and noticed the child awake. But I knew better.
Even Elladan had rejoiced with us, and as a birth gift given Amcar the best colt in the stables of Imladris for when he was older. Glorfindel was an entirely different story. He was head over heals in love with Amcar. The little silver haired being just had to whine and Glorfindel was by his side trying to make him happy again. Elladan teased Glorfindel, saying that he needed some children of his own. But the Elda refused. He said that when he had this little miracle, then who needed more.
Rumil and Orophin had travelled to Rivendell as soon as they heard the news, and were quite the energetic babysitters. I had to fight them and Glorfindel off when I thought it was time to have some time alone with my son.
All my fears had turned out to be unfounded. Everyone in Imladris had welcomed Amcar as their own, and for this I was more that grateful. We were loved and had a home - we belonged.
(Amcar = morning-glory)

well this is the last chapter, and I am aware that it ends quite sudden, but I was feeling to trapped of the first person view, and so yup I made a sequel, that is written the trad way, so I can explore some more of the other chars *Smiles sweetly* I am sorry this didn't end the way so many wanted. I will see if I can make it up to you - the sequel will be more humour based, and hopefully a little more on the angsty side too, but don't forget I am a fluff gal inside *lol* I like happy ends
