Decisions ... Choices
A/N: So...no reviews, is it bad, is it good? Should I continue this?

Chapter two: Decisions … Choices
With a smile, Alena stood and turned to her good friend Breanna, “I would’ve been here sooner…but I was…occupied”
Breanna laughed, “So I heard…Quite the catch, the Mirkwood Prince, to be king…”
Alena blushed and nodded, “I’m truly honoured he would even hold the smallest interest in me”
Breanna raised an eyebrow, “Honoured? My word! You should be thrilled and excited…I would be. Tell me, why is it you aren’t filled with immense happiness when speaking of the relationship you share?”
Breanna watched as Alena’s gaze travelled around the garden, up into the trees, almost checking as if to see if there was no one lurking that could hear…It was then that a realization came to her, “It’s our arrogant marchwarden, isn’t it? You think you should be with him?”
Alena looked away, a blush of shame covering her cheeks, “NO! I mean…No…no it’s not that. Haldir can’t love anyone, I doubt he’s capable of loving anyone but himself but…Legolas, he’s just not…He’s great…and I love him, but he’s not…”
Breanna nodded her head in understanding, “He’s not Haldir”
A sigh of frustration fell from Alena’s lips, “It isn’t about that arrogant elf! I love Legolas, I do, he’s just not…not passionate… He’s very sweet, but, truly that’s all he is…sweet, and in love with me”
“He’s not passionate like Haldir is, you mean”
He’s not passionate like Haldir is
The words ran through her head as she sat at the dinner table, Breanna to her left…Haldir near opposite of her. She couldn’t help herself as her eyes travelled over his posture, images of him making love to her plaguing her mind, causing her to blush.
When she noticed the marchwarden was watching her, too…Alena quickly looked away to converse with Breanna over some pointless subject…just to occupy herself.
This worked, until she was stirred from her conversation by a hand on her shoulder and a deep voice whispering into her ear, “I’ll escort you home this evening, find me when you wish to leave” Alena didn’t need to see his face to know who the voice belonged to and it took all her strength not to shiver or whimper at hearing it…
Breanna let out a soft giggle, whispering to her friend, “Try and make sure …decide…”
Alena nodded, “I’ll…try”
And so, a few hours later, Alena stood, approaching Haldir with a light blush, grateful to find him alone rather than surrounded by his men as so often was the case, “I…I’m ready to leave” She was greeted with a nod, “Let us go then, my lady”
Alena hated to admit it, but she loved the feel of him as her arm hooked with his, loved his scent…They walked in silence and somehow Alena was disappointed when they arrived at her Talan.
Haldir released is grip and she turned to him, “Thank you for escorting me home Haldir, I appreciate you doing that”
A smile graced his lips and he took her hand in his, kissing it lightly, “It was my pleasure, my sun”
Slightly uncomfortable with it, she pulled her hand back. No, she didn’t dislike it, what worried her was how much she liked it. Curtseying, Alena smiled, thanking him again for accompanying her before she turned to her door and opened it, about to step inside when she heard Haldir speak, “Will you not invite me in my sun?”
Alena turned back to him, “I don’t think that would be very appropriate”
Haldir smiled, “You never cared about propriety before…I want but to speak with you kitten. That is all”
Alena considered it, thinking about Breanna’s words ““Try and make sure …decide…” and right then, that was what Alena decided she should do, “Alright, do come in Haldir”
And yet, somehow, Alena doubted if it was the smartest thing to do.
