Summary: Glorfindel comes to Erestor with a problem. Erestor must face the unknown to help his friend.
A/N: I tried to write absolutely plot-less sex. It didn’t work. At all.
They spent a large part of the night kissing, sometimes passionately, sometimes slowly. Erestor was understandably confused. Glorfindel was his friend, and his very best friend at that. However, nothing could ever prepare him for making out with his best friend…who was male. The kisses did not incite any passion within him. There was no lust. He simply kissed just as Glorfindel had asked of him.
Finally, Glorfindel had had his fill for the night and he parted from Erestor’s lips with a sigh. He kissed his cheek sweetly and met Erestor’s eyes. “You have no idea how much this meant to me, my friend.”
Erestor nodded and stared at his lap, feeling uncomfortable now that there was nothing to distract him. “I’m just glad to help.”
“Can I see you for lunch tomorrow?”
Erestor looked up at Glorfindel, confused. “I thought this was just for tonight.”
Glorfindel seemed to deflate, the happy smile melting from his face to be replaced by a disappointed look. “Never-never mind then.”
He stood to leave the room, but Erestor stood as well and put his hand on the warrior’s arm to keep him in place. “Glorfindel, I’d be happy to have lunch with you. I just-just don’t want you to think there will be something more to this. I don’t want to break your heart.”
Glorfindel halted in his tracks. He looked at the hand holding his arm. When Erestor finished speaking, he took the hand and held it between his own. He focused intensely on Erestor’s eyes as he spoke. “Would you allow me to court you?” Erestor’s eyes widened and he opened his mouth to protest but Glorfindel cut him off. “Just for pretend. I know it won’t be real, but I…I really need to love someone. I need this Erestor. Please.”
Erestor let out an exasperated breath. His friend was asking quite a lot from him. “I don’t know if I can do this.”
“You don’t have to do anything. Just let me love you. I promise not to do anything you don’t agree with. I swear. I’ll find a way to repay you some day, but please just do this for me. Let me court you, let me kiss you, and I will consider myself forever in your debt.”
Erestor considered this and nodded slightly. “I’ll do it, but Glorfindel-” he amended as Glorfindel began to practically bounce in place, “-don’t fall in love with me. I don’t think I could fall back. I don’t want to hurt you.”
Glorfindel nodded, too happy for words. He hugged Erestor jubilantly, swinging the smaller elf around the room. “Thank you, thank you, thank you. You have no idea what this means to me.”
Erestor was bounced to the door by the joyful Captain, and the blond left after kissing Erestor one last time.
When the door was shut, Erestor sat on the edge of his couch and thought about what he had gotten himself into. He wanted to be angry with Glorfindel for putting him into this position, but the look of happiness on his face was enough to make him think twice. He had not seen Glorfindel so happy for a very, very long time. It seemed as if a darkness had settled upon the old warrior and Erestor had not seen it until the sadness had been lifted and the true light of Glorfindel’s spirit has shown through.
*********************
The next day’s lunch hour was filled with laughter as Glorfindel held Erestor in his lap and tickled him senseless. Erestor had no idea how they had gotten into that particular position, and he was trying his hardest to escape. The dark haired elf could not recall how he had gotten into this position. They had started out with a calm conversation on hand-to-hand combat tactics, and now he had Glorfindel tickling him like mad. Erestor eventually collapsed onto the floor with Glorfindel beside him as they fought each other on the floor. It felt natural and…oddly comforting to rest his head on the warrior’s shoulder as their play and laughter slowly abated.
Glorfindel pulled the advisor to lay partially on him and inhaled the scent of his hair. “I haven’t laughed like that in years,” he admitted. “Thank you.”
Erestor’s hand idly wandered over Glorfindel’s chest to take hold of the hand that was not wrapped around him. He interlaced their fingers, and looked at their hands in amusement. “It’s good to laugh now and again,” the advisor commented. Glorfindel nodded and pulled Erestor closer. They lay that way for some minutes before a sense of duty intervened, and they both rose to attend to their perspective jobs. Glorfindel held Erestor’s hands in his own and kissed his lips gently before he left.
Erestor moved back to his desk and sat down slowly, a smile still alight on his face.

“Can we have dinner alone tonight?” asked Glorfindel as they walked to the dining hall after work that day.
Erestor stopped walking and turned to face his companion. “Alone?”
Glorfindel lowered his head and blushed sweetly. “I just wanted to spend some time with you.”
Erestor smiled in a bemused sort of way. “Glorfindel, you spend more time with me than any other in Imladris with the exception of Elrond.”
“I know, but this is different.” He raised his head to look pleadingly into Erestor’s eyes, the blush still upon his cheeks. “Please?”
Erestor sighed in exasperation, but the small smile on his face gave away his true feelings. “You will be the death of me.”
Glorfindel smiled.
**********************
The two sat on the couch in Erestor’s chambers, a fire burning merrily in front of them. Erestor lay reclined against Glorfindel as the warrior gently kissed the smaller elf. Erestor did as he was asked, relaxing against Glorfindel and kissing him back.
However, try as he might Erestor couldn’t loose himself to the kiss. He kept feeling small things to distract him as they kissed: his nose itched, Glorfindel’s elbow was digging into his stomach, his knee was cramping, and there was a piece of hair tickling his ear.
Well…he *was* distracted until Glorfindel deepened the intimacy.
It started out small, Glorfindel’s hand rubbed up and down his back as it had done many times. Now, however, it slid lower and cupped his behind possessively. Erestor gasped in shock and the blond took advantage, plunging his tongue deeply. Erestor shoved at Glorfindel’s chest and the larger elf departed from his lips with a longing sigh. The Slayer’s eyelids were half-closed in lust and his breath came in fast pants. Erestor marveled that his own breath came in short, excited bursts.
“I think you should go,” was Erestor’s breathy command as he stood to get away.
The warrior seemed to panic for moment and grabbed Erestor’s hands to hold him still. “Please, Erestor. I’m sorry I got carried away. Please don’t make me go.”
Erestor regarded him wearily for a moment, but the apologetic eyes weakened his resolve to make the other elf leave as quickly as possible. “Just-just don’t do it again.”
Glorfindel nodded energetically and pulled dark elf back into his arms. Erestor sighed as his head was cradled underneath Glorfindel’s chin. “Don’t fall in love with me. I don’t think I could stand to break your heart,” Erestor whispered nearly an hour later as he dosed lightly.
The seneschal smiled and kissed the advisor’s forehead. “I know,” he replied.
