Clover: Second Leaf

Riley slipped off of Billy and curled up next to him as they both catch their breath. They had been together for almost three weeks now, and she was slowly but surly opening up to him more and more.
Billy rolled over catching her in his arms.
“So, what do you want to do today? We have until 2:00 and then after 3:00.” He asked, nuzzling against her.
“Don’t you have to meet up with your friends? I thought they were coming for a visit?” She breathed out.
“That’s right…Dom and ‘Lijah are coming to see me, aren’t they? Well then, I can only think of one thing to do before they arrive.” He said kissing her hair.
“J-just a moment Billy, let me catch myself.”
Billy laughed a little and continued to kiss down her hairline, over the side of her face and moving to her mouth until he catches her lower lip gently in his teeth chewing playfully.
“Come on my Clover, please don’t deny me of you…”
She whimpered as he tugged at her lip.
“Please…” He begged again.
“Al-alright.” She gave in as he rolled atop her and moved his lips up to explore her mouth with this tongue. She positioned her legs around his hips as her rocked against her. One hand held her hips steady while the other tangled his fingers with hers. Their lips parted as Billy let his body take over and they slipped into sweet ecstasy.

The phone rang and Billy lifted his head from the warm nook of Riley’s neck and searches blindly for it with his hand. He found it and picked up the receiver
“He-hello? …Oh ‘Lijah, hello. …Yes I did just wake up, what do you need? …Where to meet? Ummm…” He thought a moment then feels Riley’s fingers trail up his back and grasp his shoulder. “There’s a restaurant called The Black Rose near that shopping plaza you and Dom like, just sit at the bar and I’ll meet you guys there. …Alright, good bye.”
He hung up the phone and returned to the warm spot by her neck.
“Who was that? Your friends?” Riley asked in a tired tone.
“Aye, I’m going to meet them at you friend’s restaurant.” He said half muffled by her hair.
“Oh, okay.” She looks over at the clock: 1:23. “I need to get up now and get ready to go.” Riley said, shifting under him a bit.
Billy groaned in objection.
“Come on now.” She continued, trying to slip out from under him.
Billy rolled onto his back, holding her on top of his stomach.
She stared down at him as he held her in place. “Now what?”
“Give us a kiss before you leave.” Billy said smiling.
Riley sighed and leaned down to lick his lips. Billy brought himself up to meet her lips and kissed her intensely, massaging her scalp with his free hand.
She pulled away from him slowly. “Can I go now?”
“I guess, if you must.” He said releasing her hip as she climbed out of bed and disappeared into the bathroom. Billy lied back and fell back to sleep to the sound of the running water.

Elijah and Dominic wait at the bar for Billy, it was 2:45 and he is running late.
“Maybe we should call him again?” Elijah asked Dom.
“No, we’ll wait until 3:00.” Dom said twirling his cherry lollipop in his vodka then sticking it back into his mouth.
Elijah kept looking toward the pianist who was playing Sunlit Garden on the small center stage.
“I think I’ve seen her before…”
Dom looked at her and chuckled. “Maybe in your dreams mate. She’s your type to the extreme, isn’t she? Doesn’t look Scottish though…”
Elijah stared hard at her “Reilei? Rielle? Riley? Riley. That’s her name. I remember her now, I used to be madly in love with her music in my early teens.”
“You used to know her?” Dom asked, interested now.
“Not personally, she was a Japanese Idol and her music is just so… poignant and… beautiful…” Elijah trailed off, lost in thought from running into his teenage idol crush.
Three o’clock came and Riley stopped and quietly exited. Elijah and Dom were in a lively conversation with the bartender as she amazed them with her skill and technique. Suddenly Elijah noticed the music had stopped and that Riley was gone. Just as he did, Billy came through the doors out of breath.
Dom waved him over to them. “What took ya Billy?”
Billy sat next to them, his hair still wet. “I fell asleep and woke up realizing I was late so I jumped in the shower and rushed down here.”
“Well we’re here, so let’s begin the festivities!” Elijah exclaimed. “But first I have to use the washroom.”
“’Lijah…” Dom sighed.
“In the back on the right.” Billy said pointing to the hall.
“Thanks.” Elijah said leaving the bar.

Elijah exited the men’s room and bumped into a small woman with a lot of brown curly hair.
“Oh excuse me! …Riley? Riley Maden?”
Riley looked up at him confused. “Do I know you?”
“Elijah! Elijah Wood! Nice to meet you! I was a big fan of yours and still am!” He said holding out his hand.
She wearily took his hand and shook it gently. “Nice to meet you.”
“Do you live around here? Maybe we could get together and swap stories? I mean, I’ll be here for a little while.”
“Yes, but maybe some other time. I’m meeting someone.”
Elijah looked very distressed. “A boyfriend?”
“Yes, and I think he’s here now. Nice meeting you, Elijah.” She said leaving him in the hallway.
“Nice meeting you too…” Elijah leaned against the wall and knocked his head back against the wall. “Man…”
Elijah returns to their spot at the bar to find Billy sitting next to a woman whom he and Dom were talking to contentedly.
“Ah, Elijah! I want you to meet my girlfriend, Riley.”
“Hello again.” She said half smiling at him.
“Are you stalking me or something?” Elijah asked raising a playful eyebrow.
“You know each other?” Billy asked.
“We met in the hallway a few minutes ago.” Elijah said.
“Well then, she should join in the festivities as well!” Dom said raising his glass.
“I’m kind of tired, maybe tomorrow.” Elijah said leaving them.
“Hey…! Hey! ‘Lijah! What’s wrong?!” Dom called after him as he left.
Billy frowned. “Maybe we should go after him.”
“Naw, give him some time alone. You know how he gets.”

Elijah walked around town until he found the hotel he and Dominic were staying at. He went upstairs into his room and locked the door. Lying on the bed, he stared at the ceiling and engulfed himself in thought.

The next morning Elijah decided to go apologize to Billy for leaving them so early last night. He opened his door and walked past Dominic’s room where he slept halfway on the bed with a woman, whom was fully in the bed. Looking in closer, Elijah found that it was the bartender from The Black Rose. He shook his head and left for Billy’s.
Ringing the doorbell he heard slow footsteps to the door. It opened and Riley stood in the door with wet hair wearing only a bathrobe.
“Elijah? What is it?”
“I wanted to talk to Billy, is he here?” He asked, a bit upset to find her there.
“Sure, hold on I’ll get him. Come on inside.” She disappeared into the bedroom and came back with Billy, yawning and running his fingers through his muddled hair.
“Morning ‘Lijah, what’s wrong?”
Elijah watched Riley go into the kitchen. “I’m sorry I left you guys so early.”
“It’s alright. I didn’t think it would be that big of a deal, I mean you always get stressed out in front of women. Sorry I forgot mate.”
“No Billy, you don’t know. I…” He watched to make sure Riley couldn’t hear. “In a way I love Riley, have since I first heard her music. I know that she’s an idol and a lot of guys must’ve had crushes on her but I really wanted to know her and get a chance to love her, you know?”
Billy thought a moment then chuckled. “She’s an idol? I didn’t know that.”
Elijah looked at him in a perplexed manner. “She’s the mysterious virgin idol Riley… Also known as the four-leaved clover.”
“Hmmm, that explains the look she gave me when I first asked her name…she is kind of mysterious once, but once you get to know her she’s not. And not everyone is a virgin forever.”
Elijah’s eyes grew wider. “What?! You mean… you and her…?!”
Billy laughed at his expression. “What did you think we do all night? Play chess?”
Elijah became angry from him laughing at him. “It’s not funny! I think you’ve ruined my image of her for life now!” He got up and walked toward the door.
“Elijah, wait…”
Riley returned with tea on a tray. “You aren’t staying Elijah? I made tea.”
He stopped and gulped down his anger, then turns with a false smile. “I, I have to go and wake up Dom…thanks anyway.”
He left and shut the door behind him.

Outside the door Elijah lingered a moment. ‘It feels strange being on the fan’s side of emotions for once…’
