The realization strikes him like thunder. It was yesterday. Billy is lying in hospital. No one knows if he will survive. He is badly injured. Dom wanted to visit Billy; Orlando and Elijah tried to encourage him, but finally he said no and stayed at the hut. Now as he lies there on the wooden floor he hates himself. He sees the little bottle that fell out of his pocket. He takes it, stands up, puts his jacket on, goes to the car and drives to the hospital.
Arriving there 20 minutes later he straightly goes to room 258. In front of it he finds Orlando and Elijah sitting and waiting impatiently for results. Both smile as they see Dom.
"It's good you came, Dom. It could help him if he's surrounded by people who love him.", Orlando tells him.
The door of the room opens and the doctor comes out.
"He's asleep now, but you can go to him. He's still not out of danger. Was it you that he pushed aside?", the doctor addresses Dom.
He nods silently.
"That was a very brave action your friend took - and a very stupid one of yours. "
"Look, bugger off, mate - I know that! I don't have to be told it over and over again! I know I've disappointed him! I would give anything to be in his place right now!", shouts Dom at the doctor.
”Easy, mate! It’s already happened. I know you’re worried, but you can’t turn back time now.”, says Orlando.
“Now we’ve to be there for him. He can’t really see us, but I’m sure he feels our presence.”, adds Elijah.
Dom falls silent, rubbing his eyes until they’re red and sore. Orlando patting him on the back leads him into Billy’s room.
The first thing Dom sees are a lot of machines linked to the fragile body of Billy. One of them is making a sound as if it was breathing. Can't Billy breathe for himself anymore?
"Oh Christ, what have I done?", he asks himself loudly.
They sit down around Billy's bed.
"What do you mean?", asks Elijah.
Dom sighs deeply.
"I was drunk. We had an argument. I was a complete dick towards him. I wanted to go to the car, although I knew I was too drunk to drive. He pushed me aside..." He breaks off. "If I’d known that those were the last words I’d ever say to him, I wouldn’t have..."
Dom starts crying.
"What was the argument about?", asks Orlando.
Dom doesn’t look up.
"I don't wanna talk about it. It was just... nothing."

Orlando and Elijah are downstairs getting coffee. Dom is alone now. He breathes fast and short. Tears run incessantly down his cheeks.
"It's not fair...", he whispers. He looks over to Billy, lying there, motionless.
"You remember our first meeting, mate?", he asks into the silence, while wiping away his tears.
"When I entered the hall to meet the other guys, you were already there, talking to Sean. You smiled the moment you saw me. I know now, it must have happened then. When I began...
During the last month making the movie I realized my feelings for you were stronger than I’d imagined. And they were getting stronger every day."
Noises on the other side of the door make him jump. No, Orlando and Elijah aren't back yet.
"One day you were telling me about your girlfriend. You seemed so happy and content. That was the moment I started to realize, to understand, that we'll never be together. I had to hide my feelings for so long, Bills."
He takes out the little flask. Only one pill was left. He took it in his hand.
"I didn't take it since the...accident."
He throws the pill together with the flask into the dustbin.
"I promise I will make everything alright again. ... I'm sorry for what I've said and done to you. ... I can't stand seeing you like this!"
He closes his eyes tightly.
"Please, Billy, wake up... Wake up!"
Suddenly Dom senses that something’s not right; the monotone sound of the ECG machine is gone. Instead of it Dom can hear only one long high tone. A straight line on the monitor of the ECG.
"Billy...?"
Dom so quickly stands up that his chair falls over. He helplessly looks around and then cries out loud for help. Seconds later the doctor and two nurses come running in. The resuscitation process starts.
"Charged... Clear!"
Nothing happens.
"Charged... Clear!"
No sign of life.
'Come on, Billy, don’t leave me alone now..."'
"Charged...Clear!"
Billy’s body writhed and falls back. And he opens his eyes, wide in shock.
