Introduction to the Woos

~ Yes, Fanfiction.net took this story down because of the rating. But it was not finished. There were, if I remember, three more chapters to go before it was completed. So I’m reposting this again to finish it. Anyway, on with the story…

Chapter 1: Introduction to the Woos

The horde of males will not stop. They never will. Every day, long lines of men, dwarves, wizards, other elves, and every various race file along the Mirkwood castle walls, waiting to enter the castle and approach the king. They all have one single goal in mind.

“Father, I do hope that you would find some way to stop these men, elves, dwarves, wizards, everyone from coming here and continuously asking for our baby sister’s hand in marriage!” Prince Kuellen sighed as his father turned down the last man of the day who wanted to marry Legolas.

King Thranduil sighed as well. “I know, my son,” he answered. “But no matter what I do, these people never seem to cease from appearing. Your baby sister is very beautiful, and no one will stop at getting her.”

“Yes, but I still do not see why they cannot wait!” Prince Naraden cried. “Legolas is far from reaching her majority. She still has practically more than 1,450 years until she does reach the age of consent.”

“Remember, Naraden, men do not live as long as we do,” King Thranduil said, smiling. “They are taking the advantage of the fact that Legolas is still very young. They would want her hand in marriage now while they still live.”

Thranduil and his two sons turned around when they heard the entry door of the throne room slowly open, and a blond head peered in. Thranduil relaxed, smiling, for he had thought it was another who wanted to ask him for his daughter’s hand. Instead, it was Legolas’s fair face that they saw. Her two brothers smiled. She was as beautiful as ever, they thought, and no doubt she will get fairer as she grows. No wonder everyone literally drools over her. Not only is she beautiful, but she is the most gentle being anyone has ever known. When she walks, she seems to float on the ground. When she speaks, her voice is so melodious, and even more when she sings. She would never want to hurt the smallest bug in Middle Earth. She is so nice that no one, not even her brothers who are sometimes mischievous, dared to pull a prank on her or tease her.

“Come in, my child,” Thranduil called along with a wave of his hand.

Legolas stepped into the throne room and closed the gigantic door behind her. As she approached the throne in which Thranduil sat with her two brothers standing by his side, she said, “I noticed that there is not a line outside the castle wall anymore, father. Have they all gone?”

“Yes, my daughter, they have,” Thranduil said, nodding.

“Thank Elbereth!” Legolas sighed. “I thought they will never leave! Surely I am getting tired of all these men and other races alike gathering at our kingdom! I have never known why they are even here.”

Thranduil exchanged a look with his two sons. They have never told Legolas why males from all over Middle Earth have come to Mirkwood. Thranduil had ordered his other sons to keep Legolas away from the throne room and the entrance of the castle. It was not until all the men have left before Thranduil allowed Legolas to roam the kingdom freely.

“Well...” Thranduil started to say.

Legolas chuckled, her blue eyes sparkling. “You have kept this a secret from me far too long, father. Tell me, what is their purpose in coming here in vast groups?”

Thranduil let out a long breath before answering. “Legolas... they are here for you.”

Silence. Then, “For me?”

“Yes, for you. They want your hand in marriage.”

More silence. And then a soft, “I see. And I assume you have turned them away?”

“Yes, I have. I still cannot believe they constantly return.”

Legolas nodded, deciding to ignore the problem. She did not want to let such thing disturb her from enjoying herself with her family. “Well, I came up here to inform you that supper is ready,” she said.

“Very good,” Thranduil nodded. “Naraden, Kuellen, you two go on ahead to the dining room. I shall join you all in a few moments; I still have some tasks to finish.”

“Yes, father,” Naraden and Kuellen chorused and followed Legolas out the throne room.

~ Well, that was just an introduction. Should I continue on? Anything I need to do to improve this? Do you like it? Do you?! DO YOU?!!!! He^2 I know, I know, you’re probably saying, wow, Legolas is a girl. But what the hell, it’s my story!
I know there have been too many stories on ff.net about Legolas being a girl, but I wanted to add my own twist to it. No, I did not intend for Legolas to be a Mary-Sue, as someone has mentioned to me before.
