SUMMARY: Casey wanted to be rid of her old life in Britain and start again in USA with the guys. But could she.

The sun was just peaking through the pine trees, it was still early, Elijah was still asleep in bed, Casey?, she hadn't slept a wink, to busy throwing things around her head about David, Elijah and what the fuck does she do now.
She decides to go to the jetty oe lae lake and take the little boat for a sail.
The air felt good, so clean and pure, it was refreshing as though she had just had a cold shower, every breath in was taking the bad air from her lungs and replaced it with new life. For once she could think clearly, Casey decided what to do:-

1/ Elijah would not get that close again.

2/ David can go whistle, I've had enough of his accusations and questions, I don't need it.

3/ I think I might move back to England.

Casey returned to the cabin, Elijah was still sound, she quietly packed everything that was hers, left the key on the table with a note saying, 'look after it for me, I love you, Goodbye.' she took one last look around the little cabin and shut the door.

Problem 1 solved.

She drove up the drive to her house only to be greeted by David sitting on the doorstep and Annie and Orlando sitting on the grass.
"Where have you been?" David said.
"Out!" Casey retaliated and pushed pass him.
"Not the best greeting for your loved one David," said Orlamdo.
David flashed him a quick look and followed her indoors.
"I've been worried sick about you, with the mood you were in yesturday anything could have happened."
"I was fine, I just needed some space."
"Why? why do you need space?"
"I needed to think, I couldn't do it with you around." she said.
"You needed space away from me!"
"Yes, everytime I turn around you're there, I can't move without you looking at me, asking me, accusing me for everything, you're in my face all the time David, you're suffocating me, I've had enough, I can't handle it anymore, in fact I don't want to handle it anymore. I want you out of my life for good." Casey yelled
He just stared at her.
"You can't mean that!" he said finally.
"I mean every word," she said defiantly, staring at him straight in the eyes."Now please leave me alone."
He gathered his things and left as she requested.

Problem 2 solved.

"How are you Casey?" said Orlando. "I hope you don't mind but I phoned Elijah, he said something about wanting to talk to you and he's on his way here."
"You fucking idiot!" She snapped at him,"why did you do that?"
"I thought you'd be in need of a good friend," he retorted.
"Yeah, well I dont need any 'GOOD' friends, in fact I don't need anyone,I want to be left alone!" Casey grabbed the keys to Old Bill, her purse and went to the barn. she started the engine pulled out into the yard, closed the barn doors, climbed back in, looked out the window at Annie and said.
"Lock up for me and keep an eye on the place,d wid with that she drove off.

Elijah pulled up the drive.
"Where is she? How is she?" he asked Annie.
"She's gone, had a go at everyone and took off, what happened between you two last night?"
"We made wonderful things all night long and when I woke this morning she was gone she's taken all her things from the cabin and left the key on the table, what's up with her?" he replied.
"That explains it, that's why she fucked David off."
"What do you mean?"
"She's told David to get out of her life for good," she said watching Elijah, "you don't get it do you, she's still very much in love with you and she's running scared because of it."
"Oh shit. Where is she now?" he asked
"I.ve no idea, I don't even know how long she's gone for, she'll call us when she's ready. Anyway I've got to lock up and secure the place." Annie said.
"Do you want to come over to my place?" Elijah asked.
"Okay, we'll follow you shortly."

Elijah drove and thought, 'why did the silly cow have to be in love with me, I can't take her now, I love Viggo, committed to him, I can't do that to him, but then again, I've never stopped loving that girl, she's in my soul, I need to sort this out, Viggo-Casey, Casey-Viggo, which one?
He got home, Viggo wasn't there. Orlando and Annie arrived as promised.
They were in the living room talking,
"What do I do abousey?sey?" Lij said
"What do you want to do?" Orlando replied.
"I've no idea, I love them both, why can't life be simple?" Elijah pondered
"It would be to boring if it was. Sorry mate. But I think you need to sort this one out yourself, no-one can tell you what to do, it's got to be your choice." Orlasaidsaid softly.
"What's got to be his choice?" They didn't hear Viggo come in and he was stood in the doorway leaning on the frame with his arms folded across his chest.
"I'll tell you later," Elijah said. "How did the filming go?"
"It was fine, although Casey had a row with one of the costume people, she was in hell of a mood today, still she did give me a lift home." He said.
"Where is she now?" Elijah jumped up.
"She's gone, why?" Viggo answered looking at him questionably.
"Just wondered." he said sinking back into his seat.
Annie eyed Elijah for a while and then said,
"I think I know where she might be, would you mind driving me?" Elijah nodded, got up and grabbed his keys
"I won't be long babe," she said kissing Orlando on the lips.
Viggo grabbed Elijah by the arm as he walked past "What's going on?"
"Nothing much, I'll tell you later." he replied.
"You're lying!" Viggo glared and walked off.

"I thought you needed to get out of there for a while,"
"Thanks Annie, but I'll have to sort it out later with Viggo,"
"But at least you'll be ready and hopefully you'll know what you're doing by then.
They drove in silence except for the few directions that Annie was giving.

They stopped as they entered the road, there was Old Bill laid on its side tangled up with a tree, the windscreen smashed and no immediate sign of Casey.
Horror etched on Annies face.
"CASEY!" she shouted running out of the car, nearly getting run over by the approaching ambulance, she could see Casey slumped in the truck, with blood splattered all over her face and neck.
She was just about to bolt over when Elijah caught her arm and said "Let the rescue guys do their work." she turned to look at Elijah who had gone pale himself and burst into tears.
"I know Annie." he said hugging her, she sat on the verge while Elijah went to move the car out of the way of the tooting fire engine.
Then he rang home.
"We've found her," he told Viggo, "and it's not a pretty sight."
"What's happened?" Viggo asked
Elijah explained the scene in great detail.
"I'll call you when I know what hospital they're taking her to."
He went to Annie and sat beside her and held her close.
There was a paramedic who had climbed in and was tending to Casey. A policeman came over to them. "From what I gather, she's got severe injuries and she's unconscious, by the look of that front wheel she's had a nasty blow out, skidded round the corner, flipped on her side and hit the tree. Are you relatives?"
"I live with her, we were looking for her and found her like this." Ansaidsaid not taking her eyes off the truck the whole time. The policeman walked away.
The firemen and paramedics worked to get her out for at least an hour,as they put her in the ambulance she looked deathly white, Annie climbed in with her. The police s to to Elijah for a while and they arranged to have the truck returned to Caseys place when they had finished investigating the whole scene.

He rang to tell Viggo and Orlando that he would meet them at General Maine.
He found Annie sitting outside of E.R. Viggo and Orlando joined shortly afterwards, they sat in silence and waited.
A doctor approached them.
"How is she Doc?" Orlando asked.
"Well the injuries were'nt as bad as we first thought, she's sustained a break to the left leg, her left arm is broken in two places, cuts and bruises, all those we have sorted, but she has a head injury that we're not sure about until we do more tests."
"Is she ok though?" Asked Viggo.
"At the moment she's in a coma, so it's to early to tell, but we'll know more after the tests."
"Can we see her?" Viggo asked again
"Sure follow me, but be prepared for a lot of machines and tubes, I have to warn you so it hopefully it won't be to much of a shock when you see her."
They followed him into a side room Casey laid on the bed, tubes were coming out of her mouth, drips in her arms and machines monitoring everywhere.

The lake was calme boe boat still, a rope went from behind the boat to nowhere. On the shores of the lake stood the gang, just looking, Casey's looking at them, she trys to speak, but no words pass her lips.
A man appeared in the boat with her, he was dressed in white.
"Grand-dad!"
"This is not your destiny, it's not your time, you haven't finished the work that is bound to you, you must go back, when it is your time I will be there to greet you, in the meantime I will just be watching over you. Now return to your life." and with that he was gone and she was left alone. The gang were gone from the lakeside and everything went black, the pain returned to her head hurt, she could hear familiar voices,
"Call the doctor, she's coming round at last!"
"Where am I?" She murmured "What's going on? why does my head hurt?"
"It's ok." Annie said.
"Annie, is that you? I can't see, what's going on? OUCH!"
Easy, I'm giving you something for the pain, your sight will come back soon, it's quite normal after a long comthe the doctor added
"Coma! but I've only been asleep for a few hours, I think." Casey said, confused.
"I'm sorry to tell you but you've been in a coma for six weeks nearly."
"Six weeks!" she said trying to sit up,but she couldn't move a muscle, "I can't move, I want to sit up, I want to get..." Casey said panicking
Easy Casey, it's ok, you've got plaster on your left arm and leg, you're ok." Orlando said soothingly.
"What's the last thing you remember?" the doctor asked.
"I was driving Old Bill, there was a bang and ..."
"You had a blowout and smashed Old Bill into a tree." Annie added.
Not Old Bill she thought. "Is there much damage?"
"Not anymore, we sorted the insurance guys for you and the truck's been fixed."
About 10 minutes later the nurse came in,
"Sorry but I think she needs some rest now,"
Annie gave Casey a hug and so did Orlando.
"I'll give Elijah the good news," and turning to the nurse he said "when can we come again?"
"Come back tomorrow, she'll probably be stronger by then."
They waved and were gone.

"She's awake Lij!" Annie shouted jumping out the car, "and she's gonna be ok, we're going back tomorrow, wanna come?"
"Try and stop me, Elijah said beaming.

Casey was determined to get out of bed today, she felt she had been in this room to long she pushed the buzzer.
"Can I get out of bed, I to to stretch some forgotten muscles." she asked the nurse.
"I'll fetch the doctor and see what he says"
The doctor entered, "I hear your ready to get out of bed, I think we can arrange that, oh and your xrays show that your arm and leg has healed enough to have those casts removed, so we'll do that first shall we?"

Oh wow! I can't believe how good that feels, I'm sat in a chair, no casts, no drips and I feel very much alive, Casey thought. Annie will be pleased. I wonder if they'll bring that bloke with them again, what's his name again? I can't remember, but I think it begins with an E, Annie reckons I should know him, but I would have remembered someone as good looking as him. Wouldn't I?

Elijah was coming with them again today.
"It must be really hard on Lij, with her not remembering him, poor guy" Annie said.
"Well the doctor did say that if she was thinking of anything tragic or upsetting at the accident the brain tends to block it, but you never know, it might come back, and if it don't, well we could always play cupid, it'll be easy now that Viggo's not on the scene anymore." Orlando said.
"We'll leave it a while, besides we might not have to do anything." Annie said.

"I think you can go home tomorrow, you've recovered well, but I want you to take it easy, have you got anyone at home who can look after you for a while?" the doctor asked Casey.
"Annie will be there and no doubt numerous others will be in and out all the time," she said with a big smile, "Can't I go today, I feel really good and I'm fully mobile again thanks to these crutches.?"
The doctor looked at her hospital notes and then at Casey, he smiled, "ok, but be very careful and take it easy, alright."
"Oh I could kiss you doc, thank you for everything."
"You're very welcome. I'll need to see you in a month, so I'll make an outpatient appoinment for you. Take good care. bye for now." and he was gone.
"You look happy," the nurse said.
"You don't know by half, could you bring me the phone please, I need to arrange a few things."
