Refuge and Salvation
The fringes of the night sky were just beginning to brighten when
Glorfindel awoke. Slowly he opened his azure eyes, letting the sweet
fog of sleep dissolve into the gathering light. The warm body of the
March Warden lay spooned against his, a waterfall of pale silver hair
cascading over the seneschal's arm to tangle with his own.
With a deep inhalation of breath, Glorfindel drew the still sleeping
body of Haldir closer to his chest, taking in the essence that was the
Lorien Elf, a sensual perfume of warm fertile earth and greening moss
filled the seneschal's waking senses leading him to nuzzle the smooth
curve of Haldir's neck and shoulder. Glorfindel closed his eyes
savoring the closeness of their bodies. It had been too long since he
had awoke with another in his arms and he wished to savor the moment.
Haldir shifted to his back, but did not wake. Glorfindel drew his arm
gently from beneath the fragrant curtain of the Lorien Elf's hair,
propping himself upon one arm. The seneschal's eyes drank in the
vision of the exquisite Elf beside him, his flawless pale beauty made
more perfect in peaceful repose.
Glorfindel stretched his elegant neck loosening the muscles that had
been so expertly played. He had given his body and heart free reign the the night and both felt much lighter for having done so
Glorfindel sighed and smoothed the back of a slender hand along the
seductive curve of the March Warden's jaw, how had not seen the
beautiful soul of this proud warrior before? Layers of bravado and
arrogance had hidden this precious jewel from the world, but he had
allowed the seneschal behind the barrier and Glorfindel was taken in
by its honest brilliance.
Glorfindel lay his head gently upon Haldir's chest, the March Warden's
strong heartbeat thrumming in his ears. Morning had come to soon.
Haldir stirred lightly, the feel of the seneschal's silken hair
brushing across his bare skin with a pleasant tickle, rousing him from
the depths of his dreamless slumber.
Glorfindel.. . .
Haldir could not help but smile as he wound his arms around the golden
Elf. The fact that he was still beside him meant more than Haldir
could express, for he rarely slept with a lover and they with him.
Gently, he ran his fingers through Glorfindel's flaxen hair and sighed
contentedly, the heat from the other's body filling him with a
pleasantly warm glow. He felt lighter somehow, as if the heavy yoke
of reutioution had been lifted from his shoulders and he knew the Elf
beside him was the reason for this.
A curious euphoria fluttered anew from deep inside him where only
emptiness and pain had dwelt for so long and although he chose not to
name it or give it voice, he had knowledge of its intent.
"Ah, Glorfindel," Haldir breathed, marveling at the way the Elf's
name sounded upon his lips, savoring the feel of it. "Good morning,
meleth."
Glorfindel smiled lazily , his hand resting comfortably on the March
Warden's hip. Raising his golden head , the seneschal shifted,
folding his arms across Haldir's chest and resting his chin, so he
could look into the Lorien Elf's eyes. " 'Quel aur, Haldir. . .I
hope I did not wake you."
Haldir stretched, feeling the pleasant soreness within his body.
Glorfindel was a magnificent lover indeed. . .
"Aye, you woke me, but it is a wonderful way to be awakened," Haldir
said.
Gods, could the Galadhrim have possibly been any more disgustingly
endearing with his words? He smirked to himself. No matter. He
would enjoy the moment for what it was and not seek to control it.
Glorfindel smiled. A hint of the proud Galadhrim's charm underscored
the March Warden's reply. Rolling onto his side, Glorfindel pillowed
his head on his palm once more trailing his hand across Haldir's
taught stomach. "Indeed, meleth, for I have not enjoyed such a
pleasant sunrise in ages."
Haldir shivered slightly at the seneschal's delicate touch as he
turned his gaze to the cerulean eyes, their depth far greater than
that of any river, far clearer than the perfection of the morning
sky's blue brilliance. Never had he seen such flawless beauty of
heart and spirit combined with the physical attributes of elegant
splendor. Hechedched a hand towards Glorfindel's face and traced the
chiseled curve of his jaw with the back of one hand gently, marveling
at the softness of the pale flesh.
Had Glorfindel always held such graceful repose? Haldir sighed in
rapturous delight, feeling far too impassioned for his own good and
not caring.
Although it had been merely hours, Haldir felt as if he would gladly
lay down his life to spare the seneschal of any pain or fear and would
beg Mandos Himself for His mercy if only to have this Elf by his side.
Glorfindel closed his eyes savoring the March Warden's touch. He had
only been close to the Galadhrim a day and already his flesh burned
at the mere brush of fingers.
The seneschal opened his blue eyes, the rising sun paling their hue to
a pale ice. " The light will upon us soon, meleth-nin, come......"
Glorfindel leaned forward and captured Haldir's full lips in his own "
let us enjoy the cool of the river, and the privacy of the early
dawn."
Haldir kissed the golden Elf once again with lingering tenderness.
"Yes," he said, for the touch of Glorfindel's mouth pressed to his
own stole more than simply his breath.
The swirling leaves of his soul's inner garden rustled and swayed to
the rhythm of his heart's desire as he took Glorfindel's hand in his
own and walked with him, naked, towards the river's inviting waters.
Glorfindel spoke a silent greeting to the water as he led Haldir into
the cooling current. The river sang back its reply, a mere whisper and
sigh upon the breeze, but acceptance non the less. The flowing water
slowed to an undulating caress as it pulled the lovers into its cool
embrace , lapping at sensitive thighs and stroking sleep warmed flesh
with velvet fingers.
Glorfindel released Haldir's hand and disappeared beneath the darkened
surface, his golden hair trailing through the black water like a tail
of a shooting star, only to surface moments later a few feet beyond
water running in rivulets down his chest and abdomen. The seneschal
held out his hand...." Tula meleth" (come, love).
Haldir could not help but stare at the ancient beauty before him, his
tongue darting out to unconsciously wet his lips as the seneschal's
inviting gaze drew him in. He slid suddenly beneath to water's cool
embrace and sank deep into its depths, resurfacing behind Glorfindel
and slipping his arms around the other's slender waist, nuzzling his
chin with the tip of his nose.
"Ah, meleth nin. . . your beauty renders me helpless against the
thirst for your touch," Haldir purred, unable to keep his hands from
skimming the cool flesh of Glorfindel's chest, creeping slowly
downward. "I crave you like the forest craves rain."
Glorfindel leaned back into Haldir's embrace, spreading his legs
slightly to balance against the swaying current. The firm evidence of
the March Warden's arousal pressed invitingly against his sensitive
backside, creating a sweet tingling friction with each swell of the
water.
With a soft moan of pleasure, the seneschal rolled his head back to
lay on the March Warden's shoulder, surrendering completely to the
Lorien Elf's sensual touch.
Tiny streams of water ran in trickling rivulets from the seneschal's
wet hair, tracing paths across his high forehead and down the tip of
his aquiline nose , dropping to run off his firm chin to dance in
crystal shimmers down his exposed throat. Glorfindel shifted his head
slightly to divert the tickling droplets, but managed only to worsen
the annoyance.
A sharp intake of breath was his only warning as the tiny trickles
wrinkled the seneschal's nose and erupted in a violent , and
expressive sneeze, the force causing Glorfindel to shudder and lose
his balance.
Haldir jumped in surprise, positively startled by the sound, but his
reflexes did not fail him and he caught the seneschal in his embrace,
staggering between the weight of the golden Elf and the river's
current.
He could not suppress a small laugh at the sight of the usually
graceful Elf being undone in such a manner by something so simple,
although he knew not exactly what it was that he had just done!
"Gods, Glorfindel. . .what in the name of Elbereth was that?" Haldir
asked, still cradling the seneschal firmly against him, lest he repeat
the strange action and topple them both.
Glorfindel's breath came in ragged gasps as he tried to steady
himself against Haldir's body, the tingling sensation from the sneeze
coiling him like a spring. The heat began to rise in his chest and
spread rapidly to his throat squeezing his heart into a pounding
gallop. Firming his legs he spun quickly in the March Warden's
embrace, pulling the wide eyed elf hard against his body.
Between heaves of his chest Glorfindel breathed huskily into Haldir's
ear.
"I know not what that exquisite rush of air was meleth, but I do
believe If you don't take oon oon I shall explode right here and now."
The seneschal grabbed Haldir by both cheeks and plundered his mouth
drawing the March Warden's tongue into his own with unbridled
passion.
Haldir crushed the golden Elf against him and deepened the kiss, his
tongue tangling with that of the seneschal as he stroked and caressed
the firm flesh of his supple hips.
The way the beautiful elf had practically tumbled into his arms from
the force of that odd action had sent his desire soaring to a rigid
peak. He bent the Elf close to the water, covering his lips with
sensual kisses.
"Never have I met one to quicken my longing to such ferocity," Haldir
panted in between thrusts of his hot tongue. "I must have you,
lirimaer. . .now. . ."
He traced the delicate curve of the seneschal's throat with the tip of
his tongue. "Aniron. . . Glorfindel. . ." he purred.
The water lapped up at the seneschal's neck as he skimmed close the
waters edge, held tightly in the March Warden's embrace. The slick of
his wet skin allowing the Elf's hands to slide erotically across his
back. The soft purr of Haldir's request in his ear sent a shiver
through Glorfindel's body and he pulled himself upright still wrapped
in strong arms.
Though the water was very cooperative, the seneschal doubted that it
would allow for a comfortable coupling without alot of .....strain.
Grabbing the March Warden's hand Glorfindel took for the shoreline
at a run ' Khila amin, rwalaer *" (come, my lusty one!)
Reaching the sandy embankment the seneschal slowed and dropped the
March Warden' s hand before proceeding to a copse of tall grass.
Looking seductively over his shoulder, the seneschal raised his brow
in invitation, dropping out of site into the green foliage.
Haldir leapt like an elfling into the patch of grass, landing
gracefully beside the naked seneschal and climbing atop of him. It
had been far too long since he engaged in such childishly delightful
activity and he relished it, pulling a long stem of grass from the
earthen floor and tickling the underside of Glorfindel's chin
playfully with its feathered tip.
"What shall I do with you, meleth? Here, the great Haldir of Lorien
rolls with an ancient warrior in the grass as if he is smitten
maiden!" Haldir laughed, placing the stem behind Glorfindel's pointed
ear and leaving it there. "My, how pretty you are now!" he teased.
Glorfindel smiled up at Haldir, the March Warden's playful mirth a
balm to his soul. Reaching up to tuck damp tendrils of pale hair
behind a delicate ear, the seneschal curved the corners of his lips
seductively. " Mighty Haldir, love me before this ancient Elf gets any
older!"
Cupping a slender hand behind the Marardearden's head, the golden elf
pulled their bodies together, claiming the Lorien's mouth in a kiss
that left nothing to be discussed.
Haldir's heart felt as if would surely melt with the tender sweetness
of the seneschal's pliantly soft lips and he drank of the heady elixir
of the other's mouth unhis his senses were laden with a drunken haze
of passion and for a brief moment, Haldir crushed Glorfindel against
him, a sudden wash of fear overtaking him as his heart pounded within
his chest, his entire being consumed with the golden Elf and all that
he represented to him.
Lost in the mix of euphoria and apprehension, Haldir closed his eyes
and for the first time in what had been perhaps centuries, he prayed
silently for Mandos to lend an ear the will of his soul, knowing not
if the Ancient God actually heard his plea, but knowing only that it
had been made. He thought of the blanket of yellow flowers upon the
earth and suddenly his mind fused with the image and a rush of
understanding flooded his senses as if Mandos himself had infused him
with the knowledge. Never could he bear the thought of Glorfindel. .
.his beautiful, strong, and indefinably kind golden Lord, going back
to that place, cold and alone to rest forever amongst the uncaring
foliage. With all that he was, Haldir silently suffered the love he
strained against so desperately and begged Mandos to spare Glorfindel
the despair of ever returning.
He pulled away from Glorfindel momentarily and stared into the clear
depths of his wizened eyes, hoping that his gaze would portray that
which his lips could not bear to say, trembling with fear and doubt
but determined to chance it all simply with one look.
Glorfindel stared up into a pool of blue so intense with emotion that
it threatened tear itself from its prison and crash upon his heart
with reckless abandon. The March Warden of Lorien lay naked before him
, his very soul exposed, the floodgates of desire, and the barriers
all removed allowing nothing but pure emotion to flow.
The seneschal's body trembled at the vulnerable honesty of the
offering. The March Warden offered his love unconditionally, heart and
soul, a love that would reach beyond death, a love that would spare
him the loneliness of a eternity on the shore.
All he had to do was open his heart and let him in. Glorfindel closed
his eyes reaching down deep into his own pain and suffering. He had
denied love a chance to live in his heart by the fear of being hurt.
He had let inaction wall him up inside a fortress of stone, a cold
dark place where he lived alone and safe.
The seneschal opened his eyes locking them into the pleading blue
above him. With an arc of his sword Glorfindel, Knight of the Golden
Flower, shattered the wall that imprisoned his heart, and allowed the
light of Lorien to flood him completely.
Reaching up a trembling hand he spoke the words his heart released
with ease....." Amin mela lle, Haldir o Lorien."
Haldir felt his breath rush from his lungs in a wrenching gasp as the
strength fled from his arms and his spirit seemed to breathe a life of
its own, imparting itself from his body and spiraling into Glorfindel,
forever joining them in the most sacred of unions. As the seneschal
drew breath, he took within himself Haldir's very essence and Haldir
did the same of the golden Lord's inner being, his soul thrumming with
the vibrancy of the other's love for him until he felt as if his heart
would surely burst from the intensity of the exchange that bound them.
A warm light of incandescent ochroid emanated from Glorfindel's
entire body and joined with the silvery shimmer of Haldir, fusing the
energies into a melding brilliance until Haldir could stand it no
longer.
He collapsed upon Glorfindel's chest with a strangled sob of release
and jubilation, the warmth of the form beneath him slowly grounding
him into reality once more as tears spilled unheeded down his pale
cheeks to mingle with the damp golden strands of Glorfindel's lustrous
mane.
"Amin mela lle, Glorfindel," he choked. "Amin mela lle."
Glorfindel awoke. Slowly he opened his azure eyes, letting the sweet
