Chapter Two
Chapter two
Pleasr review please!
“Let go of me” said Tamara whilst breaking free of Haldirs grasp and promptly falling face down onto the forest floor.
Haldir leaned against a tree and openly enjoyed the predicament Tamara was in.
“If you want any help you only have to ask” sneered Haldir.
She knew that she would rather lie there till the end of time than ask this creature for any sort of help and so she just resigned herself to lying there until he tired of her and left her in peace!
Of course Haldir was an Elf so he was perfectly content to stand and watch the forest for a while until this absurd human eventually came to her senses and asked for help.
Tamara knew that she was being foolish but she did not know what else to do. It was as she was lying there that a feeling of total despair swept through her entire being and caused her to start to weep.
Haldir sensed her despair and immediately regreted his earlier treatment of her. He was quickly at her side and without realising what he was doing he gently cradled her in his arms, until the crying started to slow.
“Would you like to tell me what is wrong” asked Haldir
“What would you care” retorted Tamara “i am sure it would be of no interest to you anyway” and started to weep once again.
Haldir continued to cradle her towards him and silently berated himself for enjoying the close proximity of the human, this was most definitely not the time to be thinking like that.
“You may find it helps to talk” urged Haldir gently.
And so it was that Tamara slowly started to tell Haldir about the impending wedding her family had arranged for her. Haldir listened to her story with a growing mix of anger and sadness. To be forced into this sort of decision was unheard of to the Elves, however these were humans and they were prone to being cruel with their own.
It was with a start that Tamara realised how dark it was growing “I have to go they will be looking for me” said Tamara with a hint of reluctance as she had enjoyed being held by the Elf.
Haldir helped Tamara to her feet and slowly they began to make their way out of the forest. It was with great reluctance that Haldir brought them both out of the forest as he could not help but feel that he was leading her to her doom. hey hey left the safety of the forest Haldirs keen eyes noticed several figures heading towards them, as they drew closer Tamara identified them as her parents. Haldir noted that she failed to identify another male who was there, he assumed this was the man she was to marry.
