This is for Alisha; think of it as a thank you, because, you may not think about it, but you've done a lot for me. So thanks.
Nicole: Okay! Okay! Slash it is. But only a bit, and still a while in coming. Hmmmmm... How does Elrohir/Legolas sound? ^.~

Aragorn, Heir of Isildur, and King of Men, grinned as he gently bounced his two year-old son on his lap. The whole of Middle-Earth cowaitwait, if it meant he could spend a precious few minutes with Eldarion a day. However, since his advisors did not quite agree with that view, Aragorn alternated between playing with his young son and reading the trade agreements that were already a week late.
Eldarion giggled and happily played with the little stuffed toy horse Eomer had given him during the last visit between Gondor and Rohan. Setting the child to wander about the carpeted study, Aragorn quickly signed several papers before scooping his laughing son up again and heading to the nursery where he knew Arwen to be with the new twin princesses.
As expected, Arwen was nursing one of the newborn girls in the chair by the window when Aragorn entered. The King gave his wife a gentle kiss after setting Eldarion down to play with the rather large amout of toys.
"How are you, my love?" Aragorn asked, peering into the small cradel that held his other daughter. He was pleased to see her sleeping soundly.
Arwen smiled, "Quite well, my Estel. And a letter from Gimi has arrived for you."
Picking up the indicated paper from a small table near the door, Aragorn gave his Queen a confused look. "Why was it not brought to my study?"
"Because, my dear," Arwen placed the child she was holding into the cradel with her sister and smiled; "the servant did not wish to disturb you. And it is so rare that we hear from Gimli that I would like to know what is said as well."
Aragorn smailed and opened the letter, his smile fading as he read. Arwen frowned and waited for Aragorn to tell her what had been written. A maid was called in and the royal couple stepped into the hallway.
"Gimli has written that Legolas did not meet him when they had planned."
Arwen frowned, "It is not unusual for Legolas to wander a day longer than promised in the depths of Fangorn, or on the fields of Rohan. Why should a few days trouble our dear Dwarf-friend?"
Aragorn shook his head, "Nay. Legolas did not arrive at all. And he was expected to arrive at least a day ago. Gimli has said that he will wait another week for, as he puts it, 'the adle-brained Elf', before he writes of his concerns again."
"You fear that something may have happened?"
"Legolas is a capable warrior, he would not be taken by what little Shadow is left," Aragorn said. "But he would not simply wander without sending word to at least Gimli."
Arwen smiled, "A warrior he is. I am certain he is fine. Perhaps Eomer would send word to his patrol to keep alert for our friend if there is no word in a few days?"
Aragorn nodded and folded the letter, certain that his friend was fine.
