“Go… be with your brothers,” Elrond pushed the boy gently toward the door. He did not want Estel to see his friend in his current condition, out of control with anger.

Estel left the library with haste as he ran to the room that Elladan and Elrohir were.

“Estel?” Elrohir called as he noticed the boy and could hear his quickened breathing. “Estel what is wrong?”

Estel took a few breaths, stared at Elrohir, and said with shaky voice, “I… it is Legolas… he is losing his mind!”

“What? What do you mean that he is losing his mind?” Elrohir asked in puzzlement.

“Erestor appeared in the library and… and… he told Adar and I that… that,” Estel replied unable to find the words as he gasped for air.

“Breath brother, breath,” Elrohir encouraged him and waited to hear the full details of what was wrong with his friend.

Estel breathed again, and then noticed a chair in the room, and walked over to sit down in it.

After his breathing steadied, he added, “Erestor came to us and said that he needed Adar’s help, because Glorfy was being beaten by Legolas.”

“WHAT?” Elrohir almost yelled, startling Estel a bit.

“He is beating Glorfy,” Estel replied softly, though to the twin he looked pretty shaken.

“Where is Adar now?” Elrohir asked him.

“With Erestor,” Estel replied and then added, “He told me to stay with you and ‘Dan.” He glanced at the other twin and asked with fear and trepidation, “Is he all right?”

Elrohir turned his gaze from the boy and stared at his half and replied, “I simply do not know. I can barely feel him, though… I wish at least that he would talk to me, I miss hearing his voice.”

“Me too, ‘Ro,” Estel said as he went to hug him.

“Easy, brother,” Elrohir said to the boy with smile upon his face.

While in the kitchen…

Lord Elrond and Erestor came in haste to the kitchen. As they arrived, the sight was not pretty; Glorfindel’s face was covered in blood, bruises on both of his cheeks and his eyes, his clothes soaked with blood, while Legolas… Elrond could see the rage in the elfling’s face, as he continued to beat the elf lord.

Lord Elrond began to order the maids who stared in shock as the elfling continued to flail away. “Take Glorfindel away! Help me with him!”

The maids come to help their lord as they tried to hold Greenleaf’s hands from beating them as well, though it was hard to do as the elfling struggled in their grasp.

“Erestor!” Lord Elrond called to the advisor who reached the beaten lord to check his wounds.

Erestor glanced over the lord and Elrond continued, “Help me to sedate him.”

Elrond held the princeling firmly while Erestor fetched the herbs needed. He wrapped them in a cloth and gently pressed it to Legolas’ nose and mouth.

Elrond felt Legolas’ body relax gradually then go limp, his hands falling beside his body. Elrond sighed in relief.

They took the unconscious elfling to the healing wing, placing him in another room away from the twins, then hurried back to Glorfindel’s aid.

Glorfindel stared at the lord as pain engulfed his body; his eyes glaring accusingly at Elrond.

Lord Elrond lowered his head in a shame, knowing that the herbs he gave Legolas caused nothing but trouble. He thought briefly on Elladan’s condition and prayed Elrohir succeeded.

“Forgive me,” Elrond stated sincerely to Glorfindel.

“Words can not make anything better so you best heal me soon or I swear by the Valar that I will send a Balrog to hunt you,” Glorfindel warned as the pain grew in his body.

“Erestor, could you lay him on his bed? I will bring herbs, bandages, and fresh water.” Elrond asked his advisor.

Erestor stared at Lord Glorfindel and replied, “Only if you bring the right herbs and do not sedate him, I will do so.”

“You sedate Legolas?” Glorfindel asked Elrond in wondered.

Elrond and Erestor exchanged glances, Glorfindel realizing what it meant. “Why did you sedate him? He is only an elfling.”

“Why? Why? He beat you… he could kill you with his little fists even if he is an elfling.” Erestor replied, hoping that Glorfindel would understand.

“Take me to my room,” Glorfindel said to the advisor who nodded at him.

Elrond watched as Erestor escorted Glorfindel away from the chamber.

‘What have I done?’ Elrond thought as he walked to the healing room, back to the twins and Estel.
