Part 19

Part 19…

Having finished their meal Glorfindel took the remains and ventured a fair distance into the woods, burying them at the base of a small growth of bush. Returning to camp he found Erestor gone. In the growing darkness he quickly scanned in the direction of the river, finding no sign of him. A softly spoke “Glorfindel” from the right drew his attention. His gaze quickly encountered the dark outline of a figure leaning against a tree, embraced by the ominous shadow and the dying fire light casting an eerie sharpness to chin and cheekbones, dark eyes reflecting a flickering orange glow. One pale hand was outstretched, beckoning him closer, and he went without a thought, instinctively moving until he was enfolded by strong arms, the warmth of Erestors breath fanning across his cheek.

“I’m done thinking.” This was whispered in Glorfindels ear followed by a warm tongue being swiped along the ridge and up to the pointed tip. A non-descript noise was the reply before strong hands framed Erestors face and pulled him into sweet, almost chaste kiss. Pulling back he simply stared into the black depth of Erestors eyes that were shining with the sparking fire light. Skimming his thumb across a smooth cheek he watched as Erestor slowly blinked and leaned into the caress before opening dark eyes to once again meet the dark blue of Glorfindels gaze.

“Are you…”

“I’m sure.”

Smiling Glorfindel pressed his body more firmly against Erestor, the sound of bark rasping against cloth reaching his ears. Stretching his neck barely an inch he pressed his lips to Erestors, this time deepening the kiss to allow his tongue to rub suggestively against the advisors own. Using a light sucking he drew Erestors tongue into his own mouth and then followed it back again. Hands soon came into play and they both groaned. Dragging his mouth away from Glorfindels devouring lips Erestor tilted his head back to gaze up into the rustling tree tops and watched the leaves whisper in the gentle night wind, marveling at the pounding of his heart and the gasping pants being emitted by his lungs. Glorfindels head was rested high upon his chest, just below his left shoulder and the blonde seemed to be in much the same condition. A thought came unbidden to his mind and Erestor laughed airily, causing Glorfindel to raise his head in question.

“I was just wondering if that bed roll will be big enough for the two of us tonight or if we should just sleep on the grass.”

Chuckling softly Glorfindel nuzzled the side of Erestors neck, sucking at the soft skin. “I have no qualms about bearing your radiant splendor for the stars to gaze upon.”

So saying Glorfindel moved to undo Erestors tunic, the dark haired elf mimicking his actions.

Elrond awoke and frowned at the ceiling. What had roused him from slumber? Listening intently he heard a soft ‘scritch scratch’ and turned to follow the sound. Finding Lindir seated by a window, furiously writing by moonlight, surprised him. What on earth could have compelled the young minstrel to get up in the middle of the night to write with such fervor? Elrond watched as the quill moved across parchment in a wild surge of dexterity, he took in the frown of concentration on Lindirs brow and drew a horrible, heart wrenching conclusion. This shy gentle elf was leaving him, had lacked the nerve to tell him and was writing out a letter as way of explanatioMullMulling over his realization Elrond found himself more hurt by this turn of events than he had expected he would be in such a situation. Perhaps he had neglected Lindir in some wad cod could still correct his oversight. Sitting up he flung the covers back and made to get out of bed. His bare feet had just touched the cool stone floor when Lindir called out.

“I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to wake you. I was just struck by a song and I had to write it down this very moment least it slip away. If it’s alright I’d like to finish, I’m actually almost done; just another verse and I’ll be back to bed.”

With a grin Elrond crawled back under the covers, waiting patiently for Lindir to re-join him, which the younger elf did after a few more swipes of his quill. Leaving the parchment to dry on the table he slipped back into bed with his lover, murmuring a soft “sorry I woke you” before laying his head on the warm, strong shoulder.

“’Tis alright. Did I inspire you perchance?” A nod against his chest was the soundless response and Elronds grin widened, his teeth gleamed in the moonlit chamber and he tightened his arms around Lindirs shoulders in a quick hug. Holding his lover close he drifted off into the land of dreams once more.
