This is work of fiction! I do not know the celebrity(ies) I am writing about, and I do not profit from these writings.
Could be better, could be worse
We get to know Vig better, Vince – finally – leaves and Dom realizes how much he misses Billy.
Disclaimer: All made up!
Author’s notes: Dedicated to my lovely real life Billy Tarlwen who hates Vince just as much as my fictional Billy… (luvs me Vince tho. *pout*)
“Hey!”
Mortensen looked up from his work at Dom who was sitting on a desk in front of him, Dom letting his legs swing freely in the air. Mortensen smiled. “Hey back. How are you feeling?”
Dom was playing with the ring on his right hand and cocked his head slightly. “Could be better,” he mumbled. “How many years do you think I would get for murdering a teacher?” Dom asked, looking at Mortensen.
Viggo’s eyes shot open almost comically as he stared at Dom, the words “Don’t do anything stupid!” seemingly echoing in the room. “What the hell are you planning to do?” Mortensen croaked with a hoarse voice.
Dom laughed. “Not you! My maths teacher. Stupid git always uses the most difficult examples for our exams…”
Mortensen exhaled with a small smile on his lips. “And I thought you were still angry with me.” He scratched his head. “No, really. How are you feeling? Still on the verge of tears?”
Dom shook his head. “Actually, no. I’ve cried for so long. There’s nothing left now…” He bit his lip and closed his eyes, inhaling deeply. “Is that normal?” he finally asked a little shakily.
Mortensen arched his eyebrows. “What? The cryin?”
Dom nodded softly.
“Yeah,” Mortensen replied. “You know, there are all these feelings you’ve ignored for so long and they are eating you up from the inside. That isn’t healthy. It’s like poison your body has to wash out…” Mortensen pushed back his chair and walked to Dom, sitting down next to the younger man. “I felt like that, too…”
Dom nodded, inhaling deeply before he started to speak in a shaky voice. “Why?” he asked, his hand moving to hold Mortensen’s wrist, letting his thumb caress the soft skin carefully.
“I was 25 and I thought that I had everything I could wish for in life, you know,” Mortensen said in a quiet voice. “Beautiful girlfriend…she was pregnant.” Mortensen smiled at the astonished look in Dom’s eyes. “I found out about my bisexual tendencies much later;” he explained. “Long story short, she was killed in a car accident.” Mortensen paused for a moment and then corrected himself. “They. They were killed. Christina and my unborn child…” He trailed off.
Dom stared at the older man. Mortensen’s voice suddenly sounded flat and tears were glistening in the corners of his eyes. Dom reached out to squeeze the other man’s shoulder with his hand. “What happened then?” he asked shyly.
Mortensen looked up, seeming surprisingly calm despite his tears. “I think you know what happened,” he simply replied and both men continued sitting in the classroom in silence, not realizing that they were still clinging to each other in support.

“I’ve got something for ya!”
Dom looked at Vincent in wonder. “Do you?”
“Yup!” Vince grinned, producing a little packet wrapped in a tissue from his pocket. “Here…” He offered Dom the packet.
“Thank you…” Dom whispered, unwrapping the gift carefully. He was holding a beautiful leather bracelet in his hands.
“Let me help you,” Vince breathed, taking the bracelet from Dom’s hands and putting it around Dom’s left wrist, tenderly pulling on the leather straps on its back. “I thought that maybe you don’t want everybody to know,” he smiled softly and kissed the palm of Dom’s hand. “And perhaps it will remind you a little of me,” Vince continued, his smile turning more smug. “Not that anybody could forget me…”
Dom was touched by the present. “Thank you,” he breathed shakily and lowered his head, sighing deeply when his lips met Vince’s in a soft kiss.
“You’re welcome,” Vince grinned and moved to get up. “But now I really have to leave.”
Dom nodded and stood up as well.
Vince arched his eyebrows. “Will you miss me?”
“How could one miss you not?” Dom laughed, leaning his head against the older man’s shoulder.
“I see, you’ve learned something,” Vince smirked and bent to lift his bags.
Suddenly Dom moved, pressing Vince against the wall, forcing the taller man’s head down to his level before he captured Vince’s lips in a passionate kiss, their tongues duelling for dominance. The need for air forced them apart after some moments, leaving them both breathless.
“Now that was a proper kiss goodbye!” Vince exclaimed, slumping back against the wall shakily.
Dom smiled. “Bye.” He leant in to let his lips brush Vince’s one last time before he pulled back and let Vince walk through the door.

When Sean came back home he found his son sitting on the sofa. Alone and reading. He arched his eyebrows. “Your friend has left, I guess?” he asked, sitting down next to Dom.
Dom looked up from his book. “Yeah, he had to go back home.”
Sean nodded, seemingly deep in thoughts. But then he reached out and turned Dom’s book so that he could read the label. “Jesus, son! When did you start reading?” He arched his brows. “The Lord of the Rings… Sounds like something Billy would read. By the way, where’s Billy? I haven’t seen him since you woke up in hospital. Shouldn’t he have visited this weekend?” Sean asked, propping his feet on the small table beside the sofa.
“It’s Billy’s book…” Dom said quietly, letting his thumb caress the yellowy paper of the pages. “He gave it to me to read it some months ago, but I never really had the time…”
//I miss him…//
Dom inhaled deeply. “And he was here, but we…kinda…had…” Dom struggled for the right words. “…a fight.”
Sean cocked his head in question. “A fight? What happened?”
Dom shook his head. “Nothing really.”
//Liar.//
“Just a little misunderstanding…”
Seeing Dom’s distress, Sean put his hand on his son’s shoulder, squeezing it tightly. “It’ll be alright. Billy loves you… You’ve been friends for what seems forever!!”
//If you knew…//
Dom’s shoulders shook. “But still I think I might have fucked up this time…”
//And I might lose him because of his love…//
Tbc…
