*~*~*~*~
His eyes opened very slowly, taking in the environment as his senses came back to him. He felt some blankets around him and he removed them as his body burned inside and his head felt like it was going to explode into the pieces.

He felt the soft brush of someone's hand on his face and he slowly turned his head to the left side, seeing his brother there by his side. He didn't know why he was alive and he cursed the force that brought him back to this life. He didn't want this life if he had to live it without his lover. Selfish as that thought might be he wanted it more than anything else on this world. He wanted that peaceful death. Or did he want that final release, he wasn't sure enough.

But there he was, still breathing, still opening his eyes and gazing at this world, seeing his loved ones again. His brother seemed relieved as he showed some signs of life and he smiled at that gentle face, giving his brother some assurance that he was going to be all right. But truthfully inside he wanted to fade that same moment, but he didn't know how. He felt his body had awoken and he had never felt that stronger than he did now.

Elrohir's eyes released the tears of happiness because his brother had woken up, and he had escaped the grip of death for now. He wanted to hug his other half of the soul but he didn't dare to touch his brother in the fear that his form might suddenly break apart. He remained at the distance, only brushing his brothers cheek and offering him wide smile.

"Elrohir, may I have some water. I am thirsty." Elladan assumed that he had a small fever because his throat felt dry. His body felt like it was on fire, but he managed to place his body into the siting position without any aid by his side.

"Of course. I shall fetch it for you." Elrohir was glad to hear his brother's voice again and he jumped quickly from the chair, fetching some water with the haste. He passed the glass to his brother and he wondered how Elladan had all this strength because after all he had fought for his life all those hours ago. He wondered if his fathers herbs were really that strong, that they even managed to pull Elladan from the death's threat. At times like these he was glad his father was professional healer.

"How do you feel, Elladan. Do you need me to get the father, because he just stepped outside half an hour ago. The human woman that took refuge here in Imladris is delivering her baby today and my father is assisting the other healers during the birth."
Elrohir felt a little panicky because he didn't know what to do if in any case Elladan's condition worsens, and every second counted for the one with fading heart.

"No, it is not necessary. He should assist that human woman in delivering a new life. I don't need anything right now, except for a little sleep. Can you bring me one more pillow from the other bed, Elrohir." Elladan said with barely audible voice and his brother brought the other pillow, depositing it behind Elladan's head.

Elladan opened his closed eyes and he saw scared, confused expression lining the others face. All the thoughts about the death abandoned him and for the first time he realized what his death would do to his own brother. In Elrohir's eyes he read unconditional love and he knew he didn't deserve it after all he had said to Elrohir. The ache Valandil's death brought to him was withering and he thought how was it possible for him to survive his lovers death. Did that bond he shared with Elrohir stopped him from fading away, or was it something else? Did he love Valandil or was that love just fake in his mind? He should feel heartbroken but something just told him to stray from the death's path. Yes, he had felt that he wanted to die when he woke up earlier but that thought just remained as the shadow in his mind and his body grew much stronger.

"Elrohir, would you care to join me here on the bed. I need your warmth, my brother." Elladan invited his twin to join him and he saw that Elrohir's face turned bright red. Embarrassed his brother felt and Elladan gave one of the reassuring smiles to his twin.

"Elrohir, I am all right. I won't break. Come brother, I need to tell you something." But Elrohir on the other hand was shocked to the core. He couldn't move nor speak as his brothevitevited him to his bed, to lay by his side.

"Elrohir..." His twin called for him and Elrohir finally gathered some strength to move from the chair. Elrohir insecurely sat on the bed and he deposited his body on the sheets, careful not to touch his twin, trying to give Elladan some personal space.

"Elrohir, come closer. What have I done, for you to retrieve from me so?" Elladan asked and Elrohir's voice that was filled with dismay answered him.

"You almost died on me brother. Don't you think that your little action deserves some kind of anger on my part."
Elrohir turned his head and he pierced his brother with his furious gaze. Elladan knew he deserved Elrohir's anger and he tried to mend this situation the best as he could.

"I am sorry about that, brother. I really am, but don't you think we should discuss that some other time. Stop fretting and come closer, I need to tell you something."

Elladan had lost his nerve, and his feverish body burned like a furnace, but only thing he wanted now was for his brother to be closer. Elrohir moved himself closer to his twin until their bodies touched and there was no space to be shared in between.

"I have to tell you this Elrohir. I know how foolish my mind was to convince itself that it was unbearably in love. It must be a drug speaking, it may be something else, but I persuaded myself I wanted to die, and my body wasn't ready yet. To tell you the truth gwador, I do not want to die, I don't want to leave you or Ada. How could I be so stupid to think otherwise." Elrohir didn't believe what he was hearing and he wanted to test his brother in case he lied to him. Which of course Elladan never did. Elladan wasn't good at telling fake tales and he always had a mind to tell the truth, but this time Elrohir was suspicious a bit.

"I thought I would loose you when you fell from the horse as you encountered Valandil's' body. I thought your love for him would take you away from this Arda. Do you love him or was that just a glimpse of love you thought you shared. What was the point of fading away when you didn't care for that person enough? Are you trying to tell me that Valandil didn't win a place in your heart, gwador, and that he can be quickly forgotten in your head. Are you trul whl when you say that you want to live."
Elrohir questioned his brother and he wanted some answers right away. He didn't want to beat around the bushes as he did before this peril.

"I am confused when it comes to Valandil and our love. I need help because I am trying to figure out what happened to me those hours when I fell under despair. Do not judge me as foolish moron who was too cowardly inside to die for the sake of love. I am not ready tink ink about all of this, yet. I need to rest, now, and I seek some comfort from you brother. I would wish for you to stay by my side this night. I am so confused." Elrohir heard his brother's request and he nodded with his head. He still didn't understand his brother when it came to the matters of his heart, but eventually he would figure it all out. Was his brother too strong as he claimed to be, or was it just one of his brother's games to lure him into a tricky path? He was not foolish enough to believe everything his brother said, and he would look after him those nights when his brother would surely need him and he would ask for his fathers help during that time.

"Elladan aiya, you are burning." Elrohir noticed. "Why didn't you tell me you have a fever. I shall fetch my father this instant." Elrohir beckoned his body to move, but his brother's hand stopped him.

"Nay, Elrohir. I do not want any more potions. The only thing I need now is you. Do not leave me, gwador. I do not want to be alone." Elladan begged his brother and Elrohir couldn't fight the despair he heard in his brother's voice. He fell back to bed, hugging his twin in tight embrace, giving him some comfort he wanted so desperately.

"But, Elladan." Elrohir complained but his twin hushed him.
"I will be fine, Elrohir. I just need some sleep. That's all." Elladan repeated as his eyes closed and he ventured into a sleepy state. Elrohir saw his brother drifting into a dreamscape and he covered their bodies with blanket, so he could warm his sickly brother. He knew that he couldn't escape his brother's grip he had on him and he hoped his father won't be too long away, because he needed him to persuade Elladan to drink some of the potions that would chase a fever away. He felt his brother was becoming hotter every second and he sighed as the tears sprang from his eyes. Luckily a few seconds later, someone opened the door of their room and Elrohir sighed in relief as he welcomed expected person with a smile on his face.

"Telar, please move these swords away before someone trips over and cuts his head off with them. Kaila, move that thing to the storage room, right now. Do I have to do everything here by myself? Hurry up, people. It is almost time for us to take our posts." Stinah was yelling at his crew and his irritated mind was showing clearly on his face. He wanted everything to be he ohe one place before they take their posts, and he knew with those slow elves he would never finish that task.

Stinah heard the horse hoofs stopping before the cabins and he yelled at that direction, as his irritation was clearly turning to an anger. Semar was long gone and he took his place at the post and Stinah wished younger elf was here to help him clear all of this mess. And now those newcomers on the horse were making it harder for him to concentrate.

"Hey who are you? What are you doing here with those horses? These are not stables, you know. Who gave you permission to venture here." He moved toward the group of elves standing there and he gasped as he encountered all to familiar face amongst them.

"Haldir of Lorien. What in the name of all evil are you doing here. Who dared to send you here at these posts. Why are you not in Lothlorien?" Stinah yelled and Haldir arched his eyebrow as he saw his ex lover coming toward him. He smiled with arrogant streak on his face and Stinah growled at the other elf. How dared the other one to venture so freely to these grounds. If Stinah had a weapon in his hands he would have killed that ignorant bastard. He cursed Telar for removing those swords when he needed them the most.

"Oh, Stinah, my love. How nice to see you too. Unfortunately to say, I was sent here by my Lady on her biding and my visit doesn't have to do anything with you, lovely one. Elrohir was the one who gave me permission to venture to these posts and we had to announce our arrival, before we step into this realm. And also me and my group have a request to make too. May we feed our steeds before we travel any further? I heard you have some supplies of hay in one of these cabins."

"What? No way. Why does the Valar have to punish me? I don't have a time for this. All right, you may feed those ugly steeds and you have ten minutes to do so. Do not waste any time hanging around here, because I will be very angry if you do. The hay is in the cabin on the left side. Feed them with haste and disappear quickly, especially you Haldir of Lorien." Stinah turned his body and he fled away, leaving very confused group of elves behind, except for one person. Haldir was surprised by Stinah's charge of situation and he assumed that the other elf had chosen his calling as the border guard. All those years ago Stinah was known as the artist, wasting time writing words and painting pictures with colors so bright. Stinah changed his appearance to a more muscular one, and Haldir wondered why did Stinah change his calling to be more warrior like. They were lovers two hundred years ago but their differences finally pushed them apart. No, the differences were not the only factors that broke their relationship into the bitter pieces. It was Haldir's unfaithful heart that destroyed their love and arrogant guard had regretted those actions so many times. Lorien soldiers pulled the hay out from cabin and fed their horses very quickly, scared that the mad elf would yell at them again. They felt unwelcome here, but what they didn't know about mad elf was that his surprised enmity was only meant for a leader of their group.
