Farmers Market
“Uh well…I am not quite sure.” Sean lied smiling at Viggo whose face was absolutely priceless.
Tabby’s eyes snapped up to Viggo’s for a few seconds seeing the panic there she knew that Sean did indeed know exactly what it meant but he wasn’t sharing and neither was Viggo. That is ok. She thouthe the Internet is a wealth of research information.
“Oh…well whenever you feel ready, Viggo, I would love to know what it .” T.” Tabby said trying not to smile.
“Yeah…it’s just not finished yet…still have some ideas I want to round out before I share it.” Viggo lied.
Sean looked away from either of them out the window and said, “Would you look at that!” Indicating the sunrise and damned thankful for it.
Tabby announced that if she was going into town she needo doo do something with her hair and bounced off out of the kitchen.
Viggo smiled at her and had to resist the urge to tell her not to pin it up.
After she left Sean leaned against the counter and tapped the journal. “Jesus, Viggo, I thought I was going to turn blood red reading that…what the hell possessed you to leave this lying around?”
“I had it in my brain when I woke up…I came down here and jotted it down before I went out to the barn and then forgot about it while I was makireakreakfast. Thank you for lying to her…I would have had to crawl under the dishwasher had you actually translated it for her.” Viggo admitted.
Sean laughed. “You shared your bed with her again but nothing happened right?”
“Nothing but having to take a cold shower again this morning.” Viggo replied closing the dishwasher door.
Sean laughed. “Well if that was what was running through your mind I see why you needed the shower. That is the most erotic thing I have ever seen you write in any language. At least you had the good sense to do it in one she can’t read.”
Viggo nodded, “I almost started it in Spanish and remembered she speaks it so I went with Danish.”
“Tell her how you feel before she has to leave.” Sean advised and went back to his room.
Viggo stood in the kitchen a few more minutes. Today…perhaps he would get around to telling her. That is if he had a private moment with her.
Viggo ran upstairs to change clothes…he hadn’t thought about going into town until he talked to Orlando, but if he was going he wasn’t going looking like a bum. Especially with Tabby wearing such a lovely dress.
He knocked on the door and Tabby said, “Come in.”
He found her typing at her laptop in the corner. “Writing bug again?” He asked.
“Sending some pages to the publisher.” She lied…she was searching the net for the answer to what, Jeg elsker dig meant. But apparently she wasn’t quite right on the spelling because she wasn’t finding it.
He looked at her a few moments, she had put her hair up in some sort of bu top top of her head…she probably thinks it’s practical except for the curls that are being unruly and falling down her neck. Viggo suppressed a smile at that. He grabbed nice jeans and a button up shirt out of the closet and walked into the bathroom to change. When he came back she was shutting down her computer.
“All done?” He asked throwing his other clothes on the chair by the bed.
“Aye…you changed?” She asked eyeing his different look. He had changed into a nicer pair of jeans and a denim button up shirt. It looked rather nice on him. He sat on the bed putting on his socks and shoes.
“Yeah didn’t want to look like a bum going to the market. We stars have a reputation ya know.” He teased. She laughed knowing full well he did not think of himself that way.
“I have a hard time thinking of you or even Sean as typical Hollywood…. now Orlando that boy is another story.” She samilimiling.
“Are you reao goo go?” He asked.
“Sure.” She said grabbing her purse from under the desk.
They went downstairs to find Sean and Orlando on the porch both with backpacks. “You guys heading out?”
“Yep. Have fun at the market.” Orlando said smiling.
On the drive over Viggo told Tabby about the various people who lived in the few homes they passed. He seemed to know practically everyone in the area, much the same as she did back in Kilfenora.
the they arrived in town there were tents set up at the end of Main Street. “Farmers market…they hold it every Sunday and Monday.” Viggo told her.
They parked in front of the B&B and went inside there first. Kate was at the counter and smiled cheerfully.
“Hi you two!” She said coming around the counter and hugging Tabby and then Viggo. Then she leaned back and looked at him, “How are you doing?” She asked seriously.
“I am fine, really.” Viggo said softly smiling at her.
“Good…so what brings you here?” She asked.
Tabby went about telling her how she would love to find out more about making soap and candles for one of her books. Kate excitedly told her that she could show her tomorrow. She asked Viggo if it would be all right to come by and use his kitchen. He said fine as long as they didn’t blow anything up. The two women laughed and then Kate said. “Oh if you are going to the market can you pick up these things? We will need them tomorrow.” Kate said scribbling out a short list.
Tabby took the list and then they said their goodbyes and walked down to the market.
“What’s on the list?” Viggo asked leaning over trying to look at it in Tabby’s hand.
“Uh flowers and a few fresh herbs mostly.” She laughed.
undsunds good.” Viggo said smiling and taking her hand in his. Tabby felt warmth crawl up her arm from her hand at the connection. It felt good.
Once under the tents Viggo went around picking out the items he wanted while Tabby browsed and got the items on Kate’s list. They met back in front of a stand with berries as Viggo was picking some out.
“These look really good.” She said.
“Yeah. Mr. Mitchell grows them in his greenhouse this time of year…love the mt het here…people travel from as far as Pocatello and even Boise to buy fresh fruit and vegetables here.” Viggo said as he picked up a raspberry and held it in front of Tabby’s face. “Try one.”
She let him place it on her tongue as he did so his fingers brushed across her lips and then she bit into the berry. It was exquisite…very sweet and very fresh. She grinned at Viggo and he smiled back. “Good huh?”
“Aye…quite. What are you going to make with them?” She asked curiously.
“Rødgrød med fløde, it’s a Danish dessert, basically a thick berry soup with cream. I figured that it would go really well with some of your brownies.” He explained.
“Yum…yes I think you are right.” She said smiling again. She walked ahead of him over to the counter to pay for her flowers and he watched her. Here she was this tiny Irish fireball in a pretty floral dress with a little green sweater and red curls and tendrils floating about her face in the wind. She had both arms weighed down with flowers and she was the most stunning woman he had ever seen. Then a thought struck him. Mine. I want her to stay and to be a part of my life, for good.
He walked over and paid for the food after she finished her purchase and then they walked back to the Land Rover. “You need a hand with those?” He asked.
“No I have them. Aren’t they lovely?” She asked sniffing at the fresh flowers.
“Not half as lovely as you are, mo chroí.” He said hoping that would make her blush, and it did.
“Are you flirting with me?” She asked as he opened her door.
“Yes.” He said simply and smiled. Then she leaned up on her tiptoes careful not to crush her flowers anssedssed him lightly on the lips. Viggo had to use every ounce of control to not grab her and crush her and the flowers and food against him.
“We better get home.” He said stepping back and opening her door for her.
The drive back she asked about Henry and Viggo told stories about his son to her…and about how much he loved and missed him.
