Ch16



Legolas slowly crept through the tree line by the river, then softly
heard the tree next to him whisper "...daro..."

The prince instantly stilled, placed his hand against the nearest tree
and smiled. Looking at the faint tracks before him he sighed as he
thought 'Taught by Glorfindel or not, he is still an adan...tho I must
admit, his tracks are faint, and the trap well hid'

Legolas then patted the tree "Hannon le melon, but I saw the trap" then
reached over, untied the rope, wrapped it up and chuckled into the wind
as he smirked "Now I have rope" then disappeared into the foliage.

Aragorn crouched down inside the center of a large dense bush and
thought 'Alright, traps are set, I am well covered, left no tracks, HA!
Find me Now master wood elf...and even if you Do find me...you must
catch me!'

Not two minutes later though, two arrows hit the ground one foot from
the bush and Aragorn gasped "Warg piss!" and bolted from the shrub.

As he ran, another arrow sailed past his ear and sunk into the tree
before him causing him to turn right, then another, making him turn
left...Aragorn grumbled as he sped up 'I should have said No weapons!'

Legolas leapt from branch to branch and then heard "Ahhgh!!"

The prince dropped gracefully to the ground, tilted his head and took
aim at his prey "Do you yield wet man?"

Aragorn frowned as he slowly swung from side to side, upside-down by
his foot that was attached to a branch high in the tree, then began to
chuckle "I surrender"

Legolas lowered his bow and tilted his head as he lightly plucked at
the rangers hair "You know...you are at my mercy. Perhaps I should
braid your hair while you are in this position...when you become
upright, it would look rather cute I would think"

Aragorns eyes went wide "You would not dare..."

The prince waggled his finger and arched his brow "Ah, ah, ah,
Ayagoon...do not dare me for I have already won this challenge"

The young ranger huffed, tried to push back up his tunic that was
sliding to his neck and crossed his arms "Win?...you did not win, you
cheated"

Legolas cocked his head and smiled "I most certainly did not, you
stated there were no rules...so therefore, I won, after all, who is
upside-down, hanging from a tree? Perhaps the blood had rushed to
quickly to your head, you do look rather flushed. Tell me wet man, can
you eat our picnic upside-down?"

Aragorn sighed and smiled "Alright, alright you won, let me down now"

Once released, Aragorn stumbled around for a moment trying to regain
his balance and finally just sat down. Legolas chuckled, reached into a
nearby bush and retrieved a basket "I found this while tracking you, I
take it you tried to hid it?"

The young man rolled his eyes "Nai, tul Legolas, sit with me and we
shall eat, then I want to take you somewhere and show you something"

Legolas sat down and smiled "And what is it you wish to show me?"

Aragorn reached out and caressed his cheek "Tis a surprise"

The princes smiled slowly faded and he took a deep breath "Saes
Ayagoon, no more surprises, especially out here...I...I do not wish to
be surprised, just tell me"

Aragorn concerned his brow, then smiled kindly "I know of a cave close
by that I think you may like"

Legolas cringed as he took a drink of lemon water "What is with you
edain and caves"

The young man blinked and moved close to comfort him "We need not go
there Legolas, I just thought you may like it, tis a very beautiful
area and..."

Legolas held up his hand and nodded "Alright Ayagoon, if you wish to
show me this cave, and it is That important, we shall go there. though
I need to tell you some things before we go alright?"

Aragorn wrapped his arm around his waist and smiled "Tell me anything
you wish melanin, I am all ears"

The prince leaned away and arched his brow "You are not all ears...they
are small, round and funny looking"

The young ranger rolled his eyes "It was a figure of speach...'I am all
ears'...it means I will listen to whatever you wish to say...and they
are Not funny looking"

Legolas leaned against Aragorn and smiled "Alright my wet man, if you
say so...tho I do think they are rather small"

Aragorn chuckled and shook his head "This coming from an elf...of
course they look small to you!"

As they ate in silence, Legolas tried to figure out how he was going to
tell him, and inwardly sighed as Aragorn silently held him close 'This
is not going to be easy'
