Birth and Death (Extended!!)
(10 months after the last chapter.)
Glorfindel rode next to the elflings as several guards rode behind them. They were on their way to Imladris to see the twin's baby sister, Arwen. Celeborn and Galadriel had left Lorien and the elflings in the care of Glorfindel so they could stay on longer. Glorfindel accepeted this honor with much humility and gratitude. Sadly tragedy had struck only three months ago. Orcs attacked Mairkwood and had drug off the Queen. They found her body several days later she had been tortured and violated. Thranduil had been so lost in his grief that Legolas stayed on longer. He had been unconsolsable when he had been told of his mother's death. Only Haldir and Glorfindel had been able to get through to him. He was doing better but he rarely talked or smiled. They had been riding nigh on for three days and were almost at the gates. They reached the river that marked the beginnings of Elrond's lands. Several elves guarded this point and saw Glorfindel. Smiling they came out of hiding and led the way to Imladris where Elrond stood waiting. Elladan and Elrohir jumped off their horses and hugged their father tighty. Legolas dismounted and stood quietly holding Glrofindel's hand. Haldir, Rumil, and Orophin dismounted and looked around for their parents. Elrond smiled and told them their parents were with his wife. Looking disappointed Rumil started to cry and Haldir and Orophin wrapped their arms around their brother.
"I beg your pardon milord but ever since he overheard the news about the Queen he has been most distraught. I believe it brings back...unplesant memories." Haldir said softly looking at Elrond.
Elrond nodded and looked over at Legolas and Glorfindel. "Come." he said. "I will take you all to the study where Celeborn, Galadriel, and my wife shall be."
They quietly followed the elf lord to a small informal study where they sat waiting. Soon the doors opened again and the other adults entered. Haldir, Rumil, and Orophin threw themselves at their parents. Elladan and Elrohir stood by their father and watched their mother warily. For she held a small squirming bundle in her arms.
"Come and meet your sister my sons." Celebrian said smiling as her sons inched their way over.
They looked down at her and watched her warily as though she would do something to them. Celebrian smiled as Arwen woke and started crying, the twleptlept back and looked at the child fearfuly. Elrond chuckled lightly and touched his sons hair in a gentle caress to calm them. Elrohir had had enough however and he fled for the safety of his rooms, Elladan soon followed. It had been decided that Haldir. Rumil, and Orophin would sleep in a room across from their parents. Legolas's father would be here soon and he would sleep in thng'ng's room. Almost as if on cue a servent entered bowing.
"Milord....King Thranduil has arrived." she said.
"Please show him here." Elrond instructed.
The servent nodded and left. Legolas had sat up in Glorfindel's lap at the mention of hhis father. A few minutes later and a haggred looking Thranduil entered only to be bowled over as Legolas tossed himself at his father. Thranduil held his son close as he closed his eyes and cried.

Thranduil stood watching his son sleep for a while before he slipped out in search of Glorfindel. His son had been full of talk about the Balrog slayer. Thranduil saw the golden haired elf go into a room and Thranduil hoped it was not his lovers room. Sighing Thranduil knocked on the door.

Glorfindel sighed upon entering his room sighing he collapsed in a chair. Moments later a knock was heard at his door. Sighing he stood and awnsered it. Thranduil stood there looking quite uncomfortable.
Thranduil stood in front of the Elda and sighed. "I wish to thank you for looking after my son. You are the only one he has opened up to."
Glorfindel smiled. "Legolas is a erfuerful elfling. It was no problem. I am sorry about your wife. I do understand what your going through."
"But you lost everything. Your city, parents, and siblings. I lost a wife. My pain cannot compare to yours." Thranduil sighed.
"Loss is loss. Dosen't matter how great or small it is." Glorfindel said sagely.
Thranduil nodded and smiled.
