Chapter fourteen Recover
Th
The elf paced and looked at the desk, where he’s written all his letters. Never again would he write another. Never again d hed he allow anyone to see his vulnerability. Elladan pretended to love him out of pity, he was sure of it.
He had locked his door and smiled. He would not leave his room alive. Without food his body would soon die.
He frowned when houghought of the possibility of Elladan visiting him before he died. He could not allow that to happen.
Determination shone from his eyes as he opened the chest and retrieved a small, sharp dagger. /What to do? Cut my throat or my wrists?/
He didn’t dare place it at his throat, it would create an enormous bloody mess and he felt sorry for the elves that would have to clean his blood. No, his wrists would be better; at least then his clothes and sheets would absorb most of his blood.
He placed the dagger at his left wrist and was about to move it when his hand was stilled. Angrily he twirled around. Who would dare disturb him now? He stared into the concerned eyes of a powerful elf. `I cannot allow you to do this, Ereineldo. You are running from your salvation.`
Ereineldo jumped back and his eyes stared at the intruder, who laughed warmly. `Ai, forgive me. My name is Lorien.`
Again the elf jumped backwards, creating more distance between himself and the Vala. “Leave me alone!”
Lorien shook his head. `I cannot. I will not stand by and watch you destroy yourself, Elladan and Imladris.`
Ereineldo glared. “Elladan does not love me!”
Lorien smiled. “Meraro ellen.”
He cocked his head slightly. “If you really want to enter my brother’s halls, you will have to fight me first.”
Ereineldo narrowed his eyes. “So be it. You will not stop me.” He wanted to turn and grab a weapon but he saw nothing. /Where are we?/
Lorien laughed. `Your body is laying on the floor, awaiting to be rescued, and your fëa is here, nowhere.`
Ereineldo realised he no longer had to talk to be heard. `Why is it so dark?`
Lorien smiled. `Because you are dark inside. This place is a representation of your inner self. I must say it is even gloomier than I anticipated.`
Ereineldo growled. `You are tricking me. How can I fight you without weapons?`
Again Lorien smiled. `I did not say anything about weapons. But fight me you must.` His smile widened. `And I intend to win.`
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ereineldo’s eyes filled with tears as he remembered the words he had thrown at the Vala, who had only come to aid him. `It is all right; do not trouble yourself over that. Work towards the future instead.`
Ereineldo nodded.
He realised he had returned to his body the instant he had lost the fight and light had erupted around the two fighting figures.
It had been a fierce battle and he had feared losing his sanity when he heard the Vala speak with familiar voices. He had heard him address him with the cook’s voice, telling him to stop wallowing in his self-pity. Another time he had heard Elrohir or Elrond, begging him to stop hurting Elladan. But the most painful was hearing Elladan’s voice.
He opened his eyes and stared into emptiness. /Lorien, why is my body hurting so much?/ He did not receive an answer and sighed. He felt alone again.
/Elladan, where’s Elladan. I have to tell him./
He looked up and was shocked to see Erestor slumped in a chair. He looked around and gasped when he saw Elladan and Elrohir slumped against their father. They looked worried and extremely tired. But Elladan’s face carried love, pain and anger as well and Ereineldo knew he had placed it there.
About to leave the bed he saw the door open and Glorfindel stepped inside. The blond did not see him and immediately approached Erestor and Ereineldo remained silent, not moving his eyes from Elladan.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Erestor yawned and stirred but woke up when Glorfindel shook him. His eyes gained their alertness and he looked questioningly at the blond who closed the distance to whisper.
“Letters from ‘Lóriën and Mirkwood have arrived. We think they are to express their worries or condolences. Should we give them?”
Erestor shook his head. “Nay. Elrond and I should read them first. Elladan is too fragile now.” He stopped and closed his eyes. “On the other hand, he needs to be prepared.”
Glorfindel narrowed his eyes, stood up and crossed his arms before his chest. “What are you saying, Counsellor?” His voice was clipped in anger.
Erestor sighed and looked at him with worry. “We have to face the truth sooner or later. He’s not returning. If he were he would have by now.” Glorfindel opened his mouth to object but Erestor shook his head. “Nay, Glorfindel, I am not cold or heartless. I wish it as much as you and the Peredhil, but we cannot ignore the dooming future. And we must prepare accordingly, we must be ready to support them.”
He jumped when he heard a growl and his eyes widened when he saw a flash of dark hair before being flung from his chair. “He will return! He will! I’ll go to Mandos and back before I give him up!”
Elladan would have charged again had not Elrond gotten hold of him. “Calm down, Elladan. Erestor did not mean…” Elladan glared at him and Elrond swallowed the rest. “He did not mean for me to hear.”
Elrohir blinked and approached his twin. “Adan? What are you talking about? You said he doesn’t love you.”
All elves simultaneously turned upon hearing a gasp from the bed. All eyes widened when they saw the ailing elf sit upright in bed, staring at them in disbelief. None dared move, fearing the image to be an illusion to fade as they moved but one step.
Ereineldo’s eyes were locked with Elladan’s and his love was visible for all to read. He clumsily stepped out of bed and yelped when he felt the world spinning.
This was all Elladan needed. He flew forward and caught him in time, sagging to the floor with his love in his arms. He rested his head on the thin chest and cried his happy tears.
Ereineldo rested his own head on Elladan’s and allowed his own to fall as well. One arm pulled the twin as close as he could while the other caressed the beautiful hair. “Melin ten, Elladan, an oi. An oi.”
Glorfindel smiled when Elrohir leaned against him in happiness and he locked eyes with Elrond. Their eyes never left the two elves on the floor.
At some point the healer in Elrond took over and he stepped forward, kneeling next to them. Ereineldo smiled warmly and locked his eyes. The depth stunned Elrond, who instantly realised the elf was back and no longer fading. “Some food and rest and your body will follow.”
Ereineldo nodded. “Can we make it a little less hot in here?”
Elrond nodded but didn’t move to put it out. He smiled and turned. “Glorfindel, Elrohir, why don’t you escort them to some guestrooms?”
Glorfindel smiled in understanding and nodded. Elrohir looked angry so Elrond smiled at him and explained. “Just until we’ve prepared rooms for them.”
Ereineldo smiled gratefully. “Thank you, Elrond. I have no desire to return to my old room. Too many dark memories linger there for me.”
Elladan looked up and was all happiness, though questions lay in his eyes.
Ereineldo smiled. “I will tell everything later. When I don’t feel so ragged.” He claimed Elladan’s lips, who eagerly yielded and moaned his happiness.
“I’m not letting you go again, melamin.”
Ereineldo smiled warmly. “Good, for you are stuck with me for all eternity.” He sighed happily. “Lorien saved me, but you are my salvation, Elladan. Don’t abandon me.”
Elladan shook his head and placed a promising kiss on his lips.

Elrohir fidgeted with his clothes as he waited for the seneschal to return from the barracks. He jumped up happily when he finally heard the footfalls coming down the corridor. He closed his eyes, sighed and steadied himself.
Glorfindel smiled warmly when he entered the room. “I’m sorry it took a little longer, Elrohir. everybody was curious.”
Elrohir smiled and waited for the blond to embrace him. He rested his head on the strong shoulder. “Thank you for your support.”
Glorfindel smiled and tightened his embrace. “No need to thank me, Elrohir. How are you doing?” He was afraid Elrohir might suffer some late pains.
But the twin smiled at him. “I am fine, Glorfindel. Thanks to you.”
He leaned in closer and claimed the lips. “Will you hold me tonight?”
Glorfindel nodded. “Don’t I always?”
Elrohir blushed. “Aye, but I meant…” He trailed off but saw understanding dawn on the blond. He held his breath as he waited for the answer.
Glorfindel shook his head. “I’ll hold you, but I don’t think you are ready for this yet.”
Elrohir looked at him rejected, yet lovingly. He realised Glorfindel rejected because of his love for him, and nothing else.
He placed a hand on the lovely cheek, smiling when the seneschal leaned into the touch. “For weeks my mind has been filled with fear and death. Please take it away? Replace it with love and light. Please? I need this.”
Glorfindel locked their eyes and Elrohir opened his, showing the blond he did want this and was extremely serious. He had to convince the blond he was ready to take this step.
Glorfindel smiled and nodded. “All right. What do you want?” He saw the twin blush and instantly read the answer the grey orbs. He smiled and kissed his love. “Do you have any oil we can use? I do have to ride a horse tomorrow morn.”
Elrohir nodded and hastily went to the bathroom to get it.
In the privacy of his bathroom he jumped and grinned madly. He would get his dearest wish. Tonight they would finally become one. He grabbed a large container of scented oil and ran back inside, stopping dead when he saw Glorfindel sitting on the bed naked, waiting for him to join him.
His eyes roamed over the perfect body and he reddened a little when the blond stood and turned round.
Glorfindel smiled and reached for him, silently asking him to come closer. “Like what you see?”
Elrohir nodded, his eyes still roaming the blond’s body.
Glorfindel was already hard and Elrohir’s eyes made him tremble in anticipation. The look in those darkening eyes promised excitement, showed desire, love, appreciation and needful greed. Never before had anyone looked at him like that.
Elrohir didn’t want tote ate any time and started tugging on his clothes but for some reason his hands were extremely uncooperative, making him extremely clumsy and he blushed when he felt Glorfindel’s hand still his own. About to look apologetically at the blond he smiled when Glorfindel started undressing him.
Every speck of flesh revealed was lavished with kisses as Glorfindel slowly removed the clothes from Elrohir’s body. The blond moved to stand behind him and slowly guided him onto the bed. The twin cocked his head to allow better access when the seneschal brushed away his hair and lapped at the exposed throat.
He licked the delicately shaped ear and smiled. “None has ever taken me before, melethten, so be gentle.”
Elrohir moaned when he was placed on the bed and his body shivered in lust when Glorfindel crawled under him, the container in his hands. The blue orbs shone with love, lust, devotion and trust and Elrohir hungrily claimed the lips and pressed closer, needing to feel his lover against him.
Glorfindel smiled, knowing Elrohir would turn out to be an extremely dominant lover. He would like that very much. He had no desire to be the only one to instigate lovemaking.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lorien smiled as he watched the two hold each other tight. He was glad things now finally looked up for both of them. He looked straight at the sleeping Peredhel and the happiness riding of the sleeping elf warmed his heart. “His is a precious love, Elladan. Given fully with heart and soul. Guard them well.”
In response the sleeping twin tightened the embrace, which was both possessive and protective, cherishing and loving the other. Ereineldo pressed closer and purred his contend in his sleep. He would never leave Elladan again.
Lorien had no more reason to linger but he wanted to make sure everyone was all right and transported himself to Elrond’s room, instantly making himself scarce when he visualised whilst they were in the throws of passion. /Logical. He needs to let go./ But he did not need nor wanted to watch it.
Deciding Elrond and Erestor were all right he had one more Peredhel to check and went to Elrohir’s rooms, groaning and shaking his head when he once more nearly interrupted. Though he did wonder why the blond was receiving. Hadn’t he once vowed never to be on the bottom?
Lorien shrugged. That promise was made to Ecthelion and therefore no longer valid.
He went back to his own realm and let the elves be. Things were well.
