The Stables

chapter 15 - in the stables

Elrohir had left me alone that night, but to my surprise, he returned the next two nights in a row. He would sit on my bed and tell me about his day. And to my great disappointment, and somewhat amazement, not once had he tried to bed me while we had remained in Imladris.

This day, like any other, had gone by with me staying in my room. Lord Elrond would come daily to ask me some quick questions while examining both my child and me in order to insure that all was fine.

To think of *it* as a child was easier now. I was almost due to give birth, according to lord Elrond, and the being inside of me now moved less due to its size. I could now see the impression of a hand or a foot pressing against my stretched out skin.

I was sitting on a chair drinking hot tea and watching the first snowflakes fall from the sky. It was so pure and tranquil that I had to smile at the sight. I wished I could run out and roll myself in snow in the morning when the flakes would have settled on the ice-cold ground.

I heard Elrohir enter as he usually did, and I didn't even bother to turn around. I whispered to him from my position by the window, "Good evening Elrohir."

"Good evening," he answered. He walked over to me, and I turned my head to see white flakes slowly melting in his braids. "It's cold outside," he smiled.

"I can imagine."

"I can't stay long Legolas," he said quickly with a sad expression.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked right into his eyes. "What is amiss my love?"

"I, ehm... I have to attend a family meeting this evening," he said and gingerly looked away.

"Liar." I said in the same tone as he always did to me. I could see it in his eyes, and read it on his features. He was lying to me but why?

"Have you seen Haldir lately?" he asked, and I wondered if I would let him change topic this fast, but I told myself that I could always return to it and perhaps find out why he lied.

"No," I answered. "I haven't seen him since our arrival."

"Ooooh," Elrohir chuckled. "Does he have a beloved in Lorien?"

"No. " I raised a brow truly in confusion. "Why are you asking me this? Ten days ago you asked if I was his mate."

"That is true," Elrohir said and blushed. "Luckily you were not. " He smiled as he placed a chaste kiss on my cheek, the first kiss or real loving caress I had gotten from him since our departure from Lorien.

"So?" I said, and took his hand to placed its palm on my cheek where he had just kissed me.

"I have seen the way he and Erestor look at one another," Elrohir said giddily.

"Haldir and Erestor? The chief advisor?" I gasped.

"Yes silly," Elrohir said while looking intensely at his own thumb running over the outline of my upper lip. "But," he continued, "If it has not only been so, for today I saw them kiss in a corner of the stables."

"By the Valar!" I exclaimed. I blushed on Haldir's behalf.

"It was early, and I don't think they thought there would be others in the stables at that hour." Elrohir smiled impishly.

I blushed even more. "So what did you do?" I whispered with too much eagerness in my voice for my own taste.

Elrohir leaned in closer. "I stood still at the doorframe. I don't think they saw nor heard me," he whispered softly.

I let out a little purr, not even aware that this would excite me so, but one look at Elrohir's dilated pupils told me he felt the same. "And then?" I whispered.

"Then Erestor, he," Elrohir licked his lips, undoubtedly unaware of it. "He tied him with a rope in the booth where we usually wash the horses. There are two metal hooks for holding the horses reins."

I turned my head so Elrohir's lips were right in front of mine. "Yes," I bhed.hed.

"Then he blindfolded him and undressed him," Elrohir said just before he kissed me. I could feel the days without physical contact melt into his lips and tongue "Then he began to prepare Haldir to finally…" Elrohir panted.

I bit his lower lip and licked the tip of his little pink tongue that was to taste me again. "What did you do?" I purred

He let out a little mew and opened his eyes to look directly at me. "I thought of you," he admitted and blushed. "Of just how sensual you would look and sound behind that blindfold."

"Did you…" I stopped and let my hand run over his spine.

"Did I what?" he purred and arched his back.

"T-touch yourself?" I mumbled, completely baffled that I would even ask such a question. Perhaps it was born out of what I would do myself in the same situation, but I am not sure I would ever admit to it.

"No," he whispered, "I wanted to, but I didn't."

"Why not?" I whispered seductively before licked the base of his ear.

"Because I had no time," he breathed hotly. "I had to stop Glorfindel from entering the stables."

I was utterly surprised when he quickly pulled away from me suddenly, and he looked... did he look frightened? "Did I say something wrong?" I asked and blinked in confusion.

"By the Valar! Glorfindel, father… Aiya! The meeting. I will be late." He quickly scuffled to his fee, tugging his tunic down over the erection that was plenty visible in his leggings. "Oh no! I am sorry Legolas, but I really have to go. " He kissed me again before darting out the door like a Balrog was chasing him.

At first I had been completely speechless. Why had he run like that? Why had he looked that frightened?

I sighed and retuned my gaze to the snowflakes that now stuck to trees and bushes, but the same peace of mind didn't return to me. Neither did the excitement I had felt minutes ago. I only felt sad. I sighed heavily as I felt tears run down over my cheeks. I had no reason to cry; yet I had all the reasons in the world to cry. I placed my elbows in the windowsill and hid my head in my hands to sob like a child.

I missed my home, I missed the healer, and I missed EdwBut But most of all I missed my father.

"I am sorry ada. I am so, so sorry," I sobbed in my misery, wishing that these words would be lifted by the winds and carried to the ears that should hear them. I desperately wanted to return home, to once more sit in front of the grand fireplace while my father combed my hair and told me stories of the ancient world. "I want to go home, please ada all I want is to come home."
