Celeborn's POV
~*~*~*~*~
That night was one of the longest in all of my life. It is right up there with the night I held Celebrian after her attack. Elrond had managed to find what was wrong with Haldir. It was fixable and was not threatening to Haldir or the child. Still we have to wait for Haldir to wake up before we can be absolutely sure. Legolas and Elrohir refused to leave Haldir's bedside and I let them stay. After many endless hours Erestor and Glorfindel joined us. Smiling I told the four of them to leave and enjoy their bonding night. Legolas and Elrohir embraced me before they left with their mates. Yawning I lay down on the bed next to Haldir and I let myself drift off. Sometime after mid night I am jolted awake, I lay there and wonder what woke me. Sitting up I see someone leave the room rather quickly. Getting up I move fast and grab the intruder's arm as I open the door. The light from the hall fills the room and I can see who it is. Elladan.
"Elladan? What are doindoing here?" confused I release his arm.
He stares at my with a most peculiar expression on his face. For a minute I wonder if he will even answer me.
"Elladan?" prodding I try to get him to respond.
He stared at me for many long minutes before he turned his face away from mine. I could see shame and embarrassment on his handsome visage.
“I wanted to see if Haldir was ok.”
“Why sneak in? Why try and run? What’s going on?” confused I try and drag more information out of him
His nostrils flared as anger appeared on his face. Taken aback I could only stare at the pure hatred that was aimed at me.
“You don’t know? You are supposed to be the wise and all knowing Lord of Lorien!” anger fueled Elladan’s words. “You have Haldir! Legolas has Glorfindel and Erestor has Elrohir! I am alone and none of you care. Ever since the three of them got pregnant I have disappeared! It is not fair!”
Suddenly Elrond’s words come back to haunt me. Someone poisoned Haldir to make him sick. Would Elladan do such a thing? Fear and anger gripped me as I tightened my hold on his arms.
“Did you do this?” snarling I drag him to Haldir’s bedside. “He was poisoned! Was it you?” I knew I was being unfair but in light of his feelings and the evidence I had to know.

Elladan’s POV
~*~*~*~*~
I stare at my Grandfather in shock. He actually thinks I could poison Haldir?
“How could you suggest such a hideous thing??” shocked I back away from Celeborn.
All at once I can see shame, shock, and understanding flood his face. I know he did not mean it but it still hurt. Shaking my head I turned and fled as tears fell down my face. I did not watch where I was going and I collided with a hard body. Already unbalanced I topple to the floor and hit my head hard. Groaning I lay there as the ceiling spun, I vaguely felt someone calling my name.
“Elladan! Are you ok?”
Concentrating I sit up and see my foster brother kneeling next to me. He is white as a ghost and I wonder why until I feel something trickle down the back of my neck. A crippling pain rips through me and I cry out. I feel Estel gently laying me back on the floor and his hands come away smeared with blood. Ever the healer he immediately asses my condition and when he deems it safe he picks me up and carries me to the healing wing. I hiss when he cleans the open wound on the back of my head. His touch is tender and loving and I sigh as he applies herbs to the wound taking away the worst of the pain.
“Rest Elladan let your body heal. I will watch over you.” He whispers as he dresses the wound.

Esel’s POV (Aragorn)
~*~*~*~*~
I watch my brother fall into a healing sleep and I wonder why he was crying. After making sure he is ok I send a servant for my *Ada.* I hold Elladan’s hand for several minutes until I see both Elrond and Celeborn enter the room.
“Estel what happened?” they ask at once.
“Elladan was crying as he rushed out of a room I did not see him and we ran into each other. He fell and struck his head on the floor and the base of a statue. I have applied a salve to the wound and he is sleeping.” I explain as Elrond checks my work.
“Why was he so upset?” curious Elrond looked at me.
“That I do not know.” Sighing I sit next to my brother and take his hand in mine.
“It is my fault.”
Stunned we look over at Celeborn who was staring at the ground. I wonder what he could have said to make Elladan cry.
