AN: *gasp* I know, it's not a 't' title, but we were all getting a little fed up with that weren't we? lets be honest.. anyway.. I couldn't think of a simple 't' word that fit.. that didn't require a definition.. and remember.. the beauty of my AU, is that I can do whatever I want in it.

Lena sat on the bed of her New York flat. She sat indian style, a pillow hugged to her chest. She used to love this place, she still did love it, but she loved Imladris as well. She'd just told her flat mate Stephanie everything, well.. not exactly everything. But she knew the basic need to know information. She of course had cheered to find out that Travis WAS in fact dating a boy, but her eyes still held a varitable disbelief for the tale Lena was spinning.
"I don't know what I should do Steph, I love New York. But I love it there, and I think I might love him.." Lena sobbed, unsure of what she was supposed to do. Steph rubbed Lena's back soothingly with her palm. "I've known you long enough, to know that if the "L" word is even an option, then you are a fool to be sitting here crying about him, when he's waiting for you to accept his proposal. Maybe you don't wanna marry him, but you can't give up on someone you think you love.."
"There you are.." at the relieved exclamation, both girls turned toward the door startled. Travis, their other flat mate stood in the doorway, wearing only breaches and a tunic which looked like it had been pulled on too hastily. But that wasn't the shocker, the shock was who stood next to him, the man who had spoken. In a similar state of undress, only breaches and a sword slung across his back, stood Faramir. It seemed that the man was beyond any further talking, as he was now staring at the features of the room, agasp for words. So a flat in the village wasn't exactly like the villages he was used to..
Stephanie rose from the bed and moved to the doorway, wrapping her arms around the friend she hadn't seen in so long. Travis gave her a quick peck on the lips, which drew Faramir from his absent revelry with a frown. "Shh," was Travis' response to his lover's forlorn look. "this is Stephanie, a good friend of ours. Like a sister." The last part soothed the frown from Faramir. "pleased to meet you." was his soft, barely audible reply. Travis worried that maybe this trip had been harder on Faramir than he was letting on. He for one had a quite upset stomach about all of this mess.
"Why are you here?" the words broke Lena's silence, as she rose from her bed. "why did you bring him here?" the words sounded more accusatory than they were meant to be, but Faramir took a step away from the doorway regardless. "We had to find you lena," Travis responded. "It's horrible, when no one could find you, Legolas assumed you had left because of him.." Lena's eyes held a vacency, that she didn't understand what he was saying. Hadn't Legolas told her? "Lena, Legolas was leaving for Mirkwood this afternoon, he decided to depart early, heartbroken when you couldn't be found."
Lena couldn't believe what they were saying. Apparently men assumed the worse of women, regardless of the time or place. Finally, she made her decision. "we have to stop him."
