Chapter 135
The Fire Dance
Ch135
After lighting a few of the garden torches, Glorfindel turned around
and waggled his finger "I said tul Taurath"
The young Avarian warrior took a pained step closer "My lord...I"
"Am I going to have to come over there and carry you in?"
"Nay my lord 'tis just...I...I never harmed that healer, truly"
Glorfindel arched his brow "Did I ask that? Nay. Now sit down on that
bench there while I light these candles"
Taurath took a deep breath as he sat down, then stilled as the great
slayer approached with the holder that held three candles "Hold still now"
The seneschal sighed as he wiped away the blood "And how did you
manage such a cut? My ion did not give you this did he?"
"Nay my lord, Aglar did"
"Aglar?"
"Aye, he obviously wished for me to go to the healing wing"
Glorfindel lightly chuckled as he shook his head "Well, you know the
Valar, they have a reason for every action. Either he wished for you
to run into Thoniel, or he wished for us to meet...or both"
After he thread the needle, then cleaned the cut, Glorfindel pinched
the flesh together then pierced the skin "So tell me Taurath, how old
are you?"
"Tssss...haoh...I...I am 246"
"Mmm...hold still there or this will be crooked"
"Tssstss ah"
Having placed the chair he was sitting on between Taurath's legs,
Glorfindel spied a little bit of ink "You ink yourself?"
Reaching his trembling hand over, the young warrior pushed his
loincloth back into place "Aye"
"Oh come now Taur, you need not hide your art from my eyes...we are
both warriors"
"But you are not Ow!"
Glorfindel slowly pulled the thread through the flesh "Sorry, you were
saying?"
"You are not my mate"
"Ah, so your art is only for your mate to see ay?"
"Aye my lord"
The golden warrior aligned the needle, then lightly pressed "Has Gwee
seen your art?"
Taurath's eyes shot up "Saes my lord, I broke no rule!"
Glorfindel arched his brow as he again, pierced the skin and slowly
pulled the thread through....
*Growl* "That is not what I asked"
"Ah! Ow ow ow tssss...my lord saes have mercy!"
"Has...my...ion...seen...your...art!"
"Aye! Aye he has!"
"You said you only show your art to your mate"
"Aye my lord!"
Glorfindel sat back and crossed his arms, the stitching forgotten for
a moment "So you already consider Gwee your mate"
Taurath swallowed hard "Saes my lord Glorfindel...do not torture me
anymore, I have not harmed Gwee"
"Torture? You consider THIS torture? Oh you are young! Nay Taurath,
this is not torture...this is my trying to stitch your leg with little
light...torture would be my dragging you to some secluded chamber
somewhere and beating you to an inch of your life...after I ruined
your flesh beyond healing with knives"
Taurath blinked, the look of fear clear in his features "Do you...do you
have any such plans for me my lord?"
Glorfindel leaned close "Well that depends on how truthfully you
answer Every single question I ask"
"Ask away my lord, I am listening"
"Good. Now, how is it you know healer Thoniel, what happened"
Taurath took a deep breath, then nodded "He and his companion
trespassed into our territory, therefore he and the other were bound
and gagged until our elder arrived"
"You did not harm them?"
"Nay my lord, we only bound and gagged them...then hung them upside
down from a tree"
Glorfindel tilted his head "Upside down?"
"Aye, it disorientates the captive. Then when the elder arrived in the
morning, we let them down, gave them their horses and sent them away"
The seneschal nodded, then tilted his head "What was this comment that
Thoniel made about seeing a bonded pair in passion...roughly biting
and such?"
Taurath nervously licked his lips "We Avari can be rather
uh...passionate elves. Biting and clawing are normal...along with
growling and...and...saes my lord, do not look at me like that"
Glorfindel narrowed his eyes as he reached for the needle, then
continued his stitching "Have you told Gwee about this little Avarian
trait?"
"Well nay. Why would I my lord, such a thing would not even come into
play for quite some time and Tssssssss ouch, aiyah!"
The golden warrior pulled out his blade, then cut the thread "Done"
Ripping a piece of his tunic away, Glorfindel wrapped it around the
wound "Why would someone who is 246 try and court someone who is only 37"
"Bec...because when my eyes first saw him, my heart ached and I could
not breathe, we Avari look upon age a little differently than your
kin. Some bond as early as 40 my lord...though they must be mature
enough, like the twins Vel and Ron. Our elder looked into their minds
and found the truth of their love, therefore it was encouraged. Had
they not been mature enough, only education would have occurred and
their bonding would have been held off till they were older"
Glorfindel slowed his breathing, then closed his eyes "I was not born
able to bare life Taurath, Mandos caused this ability and took it away
when Torfindel entered this world. So you are messing with the Only
elfling I will ever have"
Taurath winced as he sat straight, then sighed heavily "I can not help
that I lost my heart to Gwee, all I know is that I did and would Never
harm the one I have wished for my whole life, saes believe me my lord"
"The one you wished for? What do you mean"
Taurath slumped "Ever since I was an elfling, I have dreamed of
finding someone like Gwee...dark and pale, blue eyed and fiery...I had
waited for one like this to be born among my kin, though none were" the
young warrior then shrugged "The thought never crossed my mind that
the one I hoped for would be an outlander"
"I see"
"Are things...are things bad between us now my lord?"
Glorfindel shook his head "Nay Taurath they are not. Oddly enough, I
like you...and still trust you. Though should you cause my ion pain by
even as much as Lightly biting and, or claw at him, your privates will
become my personal property...am I heard"
"Clearly my lord"
Glorfindel then smirked "And those are My words penneth, I can not
even express the type of pain you would encounter if it were my mate
Erestor who got a hold of you"
"Understood my lord"
The seneschal then stood "Can you make it back to your chamber?"
"Aye my lord"
"Good, then go and get some sleep, for I will be giving you a tour of
the outer border later in the afternoon"
Taurath furrowed his brow "I thought Prince Elladan was going to do this"
"Well now I am, and before we leave, I will be taking you back to the
healing wing for your leg to be checked. Worry not, Thoniel does not
work during the day. I will have Elrond do this...as well as another test"
"Another test my lord?"
"Aye, you are from a very ancient race of elves, I want you checked
for something"
Taurath frowned "What"
"Do not worry about it Taur, just humor me"
"Aye my lord, whatever you wish"
~*~*~
Once Taurath had left the garden, Glorfindel crossed his arms and
shook his head "Oh Mandos...I know you can hear me you...*Sigh*...I
need to speak with you"
A few moments later, the Valar of the dead appeared "What do you want
Now Findel?"
The golden warrior inclined his head respectfully, then sighed "When
you held Gwee, you took a liking to him right away. Then you showed as
a youngling to befriend him...then told us that Vel and Ron had two
paths before them, one that would end in the death of one, and the
other they had set out on. You then made the comment that you wanted
this second path to unfold"
Mandos arched his brow "Get to the point Glorfindel"
"The path you wanted for Vel and Ron, led them to the Avari,
ultimately bringing Taurath into Gwee's path. Was this planned?"
The Valar of the dead smirked, then vanished without saying a word
