CH 13

Blue-green angry eyes were staring at Arwen, “What are you doing with Larien outside, Arwen?” Lady Idril spoke, questioning Arwen for her behavior.

A flash of terror ran across Arwen’s face and she did not know what to say to her mother. Larien saw this and knew that she did not want her sister getting into trouble for her mistake.

A voice broke in, “Mother, it was not Arwen’s fought, please do not blame her, it was me, I forced her to take me out. I need to be punished for my actions.” Larien said with a sad look in her eyes.

Lady Idril just gazed into those eyes that mirrored her own, “You do not need to be punished as you’ve been punished enough. Just take her back, Arwen. Do not let your father see you with Larien in your arms.” She smiled at them both as she need Larien was missing the outside.

Arwen took Larien back to the healing room and opened the door as she placed her back on the bed. It was just in time because their father had come in to check on Larien as Arwen was placing her back down on the bed.

“Why are you moving her Arwen?” Lord Elrond asked.

Larien jumped in and said, “I had a crap on my side father and Arwen was helping me move around some.” She smiled at her father to see if this would help the situation.

To their luck it did because he did not think any more about it. He came in and started to mix up some more of that nasty medicine that Larien had come to hate. But she knew it was for her strength and getting her well again.

“I know you hate this stuff but I promise if you take it, tomorrow I will let you go outside and into the gardens.” Lord Elrond stated knowing it would be a deal.

She smiled happily ae loe looked at Arwen and winked, “I would like that father, Aye, I shall take the nasty drink.” Larien stated happily.

Larien drank that tasteless medicine knowing it was for her own good. Arwen was so glad to see her sister well, it had been touch and go there for a while. But everything was starting to get back to normal in Rivendell.

Lady Idril went to check on her daughter before bed in the healing room. She walked in and saw Larien up by the window looking outside. Larien was dreaming of Prince Legolas and the kiss that they shared before he left.

“What are you thinking about, my darling?” A soft feminine voice asked.

Larien quickly turned around to see her mother standing by the door. She smiled sweetly and answered, “Nothing really, Desh’mieve! Just daydreaming out the window of a certain, Prince.” Her whole face had brightened up with the thought of Legolas.

Lady Idril’s eyebrow raised up, “Is there something you would like to share with me about Prince Legolas?” Her mother had suspected the two would get involved in time as they were always together when growing up.

Larien did not realize she spoke so fond of Prince Legolas until just a moment ago, “Aye, there is Desh'mieve. My heart tells me there is love between the Prince and I. But how will I ever really know if he loves me? I feel so much for Legolas, I could love him and it could be like the love Father and you share. I am just scared of these new feelings, mother.”

Larien and her mother were always close as they shared many things. Idril waited too many life times to share this kind of intimacy with her daughter. As she heard what her daur asr asked, she tired to think of a way to explain to Larien what love really was and how would she know if it was real or not.

“Larien, my heart, Love is hard to understand and very confusing also but in time when the two of you court each other a little longer you will know if he really loves you or not. I believe deep down in my heart he does love you as I saw it in his eyes the other night when he asked to speak with you.” As Lady Idril finished speaking, she saw Larien’s eyes listening attentively to her advice.

Changing the subject as she stood up, “May I sleep in my room tonight, Desh'mieve? I know I have been down in this dungeon for at least a couple of weeks. I really want to be in my own bed, Please mother.” Larien pleaded for her to say yes as she wished the words to almost roll off her tongue.

Idril smiled and answered, “Aye, you may, my darling. However, before you leave, let me ask your father.” She walked to open the door and their stood Lord Elrond on the other side about to check on Larien.

Smiling at him, “There you are, I believe that Larien is well enough to go back to her room. I was coming to ask you if it would be all right since I told Larien I did not see a problem with it.” Idril’s eyes widened as she spoke sternly at her husband.
