Narcissist

During his pray Orli hadn’t noticed Legolas began breathing again and opened his eyes.

Legolas slowly moved his hand up and wiped away the tear that trickled down Orli’s cheek.

Orli felt warmth spreading over his cheek and slowly opened his eyes, the first thing he saw was Legolas smiling up at him. Happiness filled his body and soul and he pulled the elf into a tight embrace as if afraid that Legolas would disappear if he didn’t.

Legolas was startled at this, his body still a bit shaky from being touched but he fought that because he knew Orli wouldn’t bring him harm and after a while hugged back.

Orli tightened the hug, almost squeezing the air out of Legolas, who squeaked and said, “If you…don’t mind, I’d like to get some air”

Orli smiled and let go of him and said, “I was so scared that I’d lost you, I promise Viggo will pay for what he did, one way or another”

Legolas looked at him and said, “He’s no alone in this blame”

Orli arched a brow and said, “Yes, I heard that victims of rape mostly blame themselves for it, I did too, but luckily you helped me through”

Orli trembled immensely by the time it got night and refused to go to sleep, afraid it would happen again, he locked all windows and doors, believing it was his mistake the balcony door was open which allowed Bryan to come in easily without being noticed.

It pained Legolas to see his beloved like that, he had tried to take him into his arms to give comfort, but Orli had pushed him away, afraid to be touched. He sat down in front of Orli and said, “Love, I want you to listen to me. You’re safe, I won’t harm you, nor anyone else, I promise. Stop doing this to yourself, it grieves me to see you this way.”

Orli shivered and said, “You don’t care, y-you just want to get close with m-me”

The words stabbed Legolas’ heart like a dagger would. He had to fight hard to keep his tears inside, but he knew Orli didn’t truly mean those things.

Orli looked down, knowing he had been wrong to say that and said, “I-I’m sorry, I-I didn’t mean to say such a thing…I-I’m just scared. Will you stay with me, please? Don’t leave”

Legolas sat behind him, legs on either side of him and pulled him close, into an embrace and said “Sssh love, it’s okay. I will stay, will never leave, I promise”

Orli looked at him and said “I was afraid you’d break that promise”

Legolas ran a hand over his cheek and said, “I will never break that promise, but it was the truth, I was the one who…I don’t know. He was making dinner, with the zucchini you’d told me to use that morning and…and I got aroused by the thought of it, what you had make me do and…he believed it was because of him, he mistook me. I know he didn’t purposely take me against my will, he thought I was willing”

Orli was at a loss of what to say or do and said after a while thinking, “Baby listen to me. It was *not* your fault, what he did to you was bad, it doesn’t matter if you were the motive or not, you made clear you didn’t want it. He should have stopped. Don’t blame yourself for what happened.”

Legolas felt a tear role down and cuddled up against him and sobbed.

Orli wrapped his arms around him and softly rocked him and whispered, “Sss wil will be all okay, I’m with you, I won’t let anything like that happen ever again. I will quit my job and stay with you.”

Legolas looked at him and said, “N-no, you can’t, you love your job”

Orli smiled and said, “I do, but I love you more and your safety means a lot more to me than my job”
