Dom loves living with Eli He He gets to see his best friend every day and gets to do something he loves - cook - without interruption. Elijah wouldn't dare disturb him in the kitchen. He wouldn't want to, either, because Elijah seems to be allergic to cooking.

"What would you do if I ever left?" Dom asked once when he was preparing steaks for their dinner. Elijah had hugged him and grinned that impish grin of his. And he had told Dom that he doubted that day would ever come.

He also gets to see Viggo quite a bit, because the older man is around a lot to spend time with his lover. And Orli, of course. Orli likes to come and visit them whenever he's in L.A. Elijah's house seems to be a centre for everyone from Rings to visit. Sean Astin and his family are over nearly every week. He and Elijah grew very close over the shoot, and Ally adores Dom like an uncle.

So he loves it here.

He comes down to find Viggo in the kitchen, drinking coffee. He says 'morning' and pours himself a cup before sitting opposite the older man and picking up the discarded paper. Becomes aware, after about a minute, that Viggo is watching him. Grins at him. "What?"

"You don't even know, do you?"

"Know what?"

"About Elijah."

Dom takes a sip of his coffee, frowns. "What about Elijah?"

"He has the hots for you. Didn't he tell you?"

Viggo watches him as he laughs. "Don't be a bloody idiot, mate. He's in love with you, I think you'll find."

"No he isn't." And Viggo looks so serious that Dom immediately stops laughing. "Not yet, anyway. I think he's trying to get over you."

"You are winding me up, aren't you?"

Viggo shakes his head. "I promise I'm not. It's up to you what you want to do...""Th"That isn't...Viggo, I don't love him, okay? I'm not goio tao take him away from you."

"I know you won't try to, Dominic. But..well.."

"If he's got any sense, he'll stay with you. And I don't think he's stupid."

Viggo shrugs. "We'll see."

"Maybe I should go somewhere for a while. Let him be. Let you two be alone. Maybe that would help."

Viggo gets up, chair scraping the floor. "Don't worry about it. Forget I said anything."

But But Dom does for forget. When Elijah comes down for his breakfast anaps aps his arms around Dom for what has become their traditional good morning hug, Dom freezes. He doesn't move until Elijah steps away from him and goes to the refrigerator on a search for ornage juice. Elijah's talking at him a mile a minute, hasn't even noticed.

"Elijah," he interrupts.

"Yeah?"

"I'm going to be going away in a few days. For a couple of weeks. Think you can manage the kitchen without me?"
ijahijah sits down so fast it's like he's on elastic. "Going away? Where?"

"Berlin. Orli invited me over there and I did get offered a job there. I was going to turn it down, but..."

"Can I go with you?"

"I'd rather..I'll be okay on my own. I'm sure you will. You'll have Viggo here.."

The look that flits across Elijah's face then does not escape Dom's attention. He ignores it though, fiddling with the corner of the newspaper. "So, you're leaving me behind then?"

"Only for two weeks."

"Where are you going to stay?"

"In a hotel with Orli. We'll be meeting up with Atti as well. Elijah, don't worry. You'll be okay without me."

"If you say so..."

"Anyone would think we were married. It's only two weeks. Over before you know it."

Elijah gets to his feet and comes round to Dom's side of the table. Dom sits back, watching him. "I know it's only two weeks," Elijah says. And...are those tears in his eyes? Yes... "But I'm going to miss you all the same." And he hugs Dom and this time Dom doesn't freeze up. He hugs Elijah back and lets him cry onto his shoulder. It strikes him he'll miss Elijah too, but he doesn't say that. Doesn't want to make it worse. He doesn't love him, after all. Elijah is just a friend. And that's all Dom ever wants him to be.
