Final Notes
Final Notes for Undomiel:
How Glorfindel felt about spying for Thranduil on Elrond and his family while dealing with a growing attachment is not clear. Whether that is because he avoided considering the subject or he had no qualms over betrayal I have not detailed and made certain, as I saw no real need to.
Erestor and Legolas have crushes on Glorfindel in the beginning, both of which are destroyed when he was imprisoned and when he agreed to become consort to Thranduil. For the purposes of the story, they become and remain instead, good friends with Glndelndel. Legolas even accompanied Glorfindel to see to the noldor in his father’s dungeon, later going down by himself. This from a sindar prince would have been seen as 'too open-minded'. Erestor later shares a tent with Glorfindel without any troubles relating to his passing attraction, and shows enough of an interest in his daughter that she is left with him now and then.
Mithrandir was a surprise in an otherwise entirely planned out story. I had my out lines and notes, and he just popped in and smoothed over a very difficult and tenuous point in the story. 'A wizard is never late, he always arrives precisely when he means to.' I suppose. Nevertheless, his brief, unplanned for appearance was unsettling to say the least, and had me up extra hours reviewing plots and notes to make it feasible. He stayed in Lothlorien with Celeborn, if you're curious about where he went off to.
In the final archived version of Undomiel, the sex scene between Elrohir and Elladan is removed. It does not add to the story, but rather takes from the point, thus it has been excluded from the final cut of the story.
Due to the attack of a truly cunning and vicious plot bunny, Celebrian has undergone a sex-change in the final, true version to make Undomiel a sequel to The Prince of Lothlorien. Please note that earlier versions do not have this edit.
All in all, Undomiel was a surprising success. I didn't plan for it to be of this quality, it was originally supposed to be light work, a vacation of sorts. House of the Golden Flower improved every other story I’ve worked on, quite unintentionally. Now that Undomiel is finished, I’ll be going back and finishing part two of House of the Golden Flower, then taking a break and writing The Prince of Lothlorien, which is another Mpreg based on the idea 'what if Celebrian were male?'
If you liked Undomiel, I recommend The Prince of Lothlorien, its prequel. It will only be half as long, five chapters, and have no pregnancy and birth, but plenty of the haughty prince of Lorien and his wild noldor husband. *grin*
Well in conclusion, thanks for the read and all the reviews. May you all write better stories than me one day.
