Elrohir walked through the halls looking from left to right as if trying to find something, or someone. The night was beautiful as the moon and the lanterns showed him the way through the darkness, and the owls voice sounded as the sign that it was almost midnight. He was trying to find his brother who had disappeared since this morning and was apparently avoiding him.
He knew that his brother would probably hate him because of the thing that had happened last night, but he still needed to explain himself. He didn't know what to say that would justify him or his actions but he knew that one thing was for sure. He needed to tell his brother that he loves him, no matter what the consequence of that admission would be. He couldn't keep this to himself any longer. He was thinking about this all day today and only solution that he came up with, was to tell him. And he would have if only he could find Elladan.
But that was a problem. He couldn't track Elladan because his brother was good in hiding himself. Even in the youth Elladan was the one who would always get in trouble, because of his mischievous ways. Sometimes he would disappear for a week's and no one could find him unless he wanted to be discovered.
Suddenly something hit Elrohir on his side and that pulled him from the musings. He almost fell but he stabilized himself in time, and then he heard the thud of the person who had provoked this sudden accident. He turned around to see who was laying there on the ground, and then his eyes caught Valandil's. The youth was laying down on the grass and his breathing was fast, as if he was running from something.
"I......am sorry Elrohir. I didn't see where I was going."
"Ahhh..Valandil. What are you doing out this late at night? No need to be sorry I am not the one who is knocked down, but you are. Here take my hand." Valandil took the offered hand and Elrohir pulled him to his feet.
"Thank you"The youth softly said as he lowered his head and avoided Elrohir's gaze. Elrohir felt the wetness on his hand and he raised it to his face to check the content's on it better. The visible wetness was red and thick and Elrohir's jaw dropped open.
"Valandil are you hurt. There is blood on my hand "Elrohir asked suspiciously as he scanned the other's features. The youth seemed well enough to his eyes and he wondered where did this blood come from. Valandil suddenly paled as he replied with a haste.
"Yes, my leg is cut, but I will take care of it. Thank you for the concern. I bid you good night, Elrohir. With that Valandil turned and left, leaving very confused twin behind him.
"But....." Elrohir replied, but the youth was gone as the wind. (What in the name of Valar is going on. He doesn't look hurt to me. Well, maybe I should believe him. But something just ain't right. I will investigate it later, now I need to find my brother)
He came to the practice area where during the day guards tried their skills but now it all seemed quiet. But it was not. There on the third row was the figure practicing with his bow and arrows, releasing them one by one. He approached that figure and instantly he knew that it was Elladan. He could tell by the voice that released curses every time the arrow didn't hit target.smilsmiled in relief, approaching his brother while he tenderly touched his shoulder.
Elladan suddenly jumped and his arrows were discarded all over the ground.
"Elrohir what are you doing here. Are you trying to scare me to death."
"No, I came here to talk. And I think that we should, I mean..... talk. Elladan where were you today. I was looking for you all over the Imladris."
"There is nothing we need to talk about. So please leave." Elladan spat and turned himself to collect his arrows.
"All right. If you want to be stubborn then I will talk and you listen. Elladan, about the thing that happened last night.."
Elrohir was cut by the angry Elladan's voice.
"Nothing happened, Elrohir. If I were you, I would forget about last night. It was a mistake so don't you dare mention it."
"You want to deny it. Well, I can't my brother. You might think that it was mistake but for me it was the best night of my life. I know you thought that it was Valandil in your bed last night and I am sorry that I didn't stop it. But I don't regret last night. Not at all." Elrohir replied with equally angered voice and his gaze was one of the fury.
"Elrohir, Stop I don't want to hear it. The last night was a sin and I am trying to forget it. Anyway, what were you doing in my chambers last night. Why did you come?"
"I cannot forget what happened last night, so can't you. I am not sure why I came last night but I did not plan to seduce you. You were one one who had started the whole thing, Not me."
"Yes, I did start it, but I though that the person in my bed was Valandil. Not you."
"Elladan...was the last night so bad that you want to forget. I don't remember you complaining."
"Why do you ask that. I told you before, my brother. I thought that YOU were my lover, Valandil."
"Ah Yes....Valandil. I have a question for you brother. Are you sure that Lorien slut really loves you. I mean really." Elrohir chuckled. "You are fooling yourself Elladan"
"Don't call him a slut. Get out of my face Elrohir before my fury acts with my fists."
"OOOOO...My poor brother is not so sure. Tell me what number are you on that slut's lists." Elrohir mocked.
"Why do you care? That is none your business.NOW LEAVE before I do something that I will surely regret."
"I DO care, my brother. Do you want to know why? Do you want to know what beats in my heart this very moment. It is my love for you, dear one. I love you."
Suddenly everything went quiet. Even the owl's voice that sounded through Imladris became hushed.

Semar sighed as his eyes rested on the Huor's features. He was in the healing room where Huor was laying down on the bed. Semar sat down on the chair near the bed and took Huor's hand into his, praying that the councilor would pull out through this. Huor was not unconscious but his wit alm almost gone with the fever that was upon him. Calaglin, the healer, was at the table mixing some potions together while he checked on his patient from time to time.
The poison that was in Huor's body was a mixture of the serpents and scorpion's venom. The healer had found out that fact from the wound that bled unusually and from the lightheadedness of the patient. The poison was the one that Easterlings perfected and it was a mighty weapon in the war. The Semar was worried because none of the victims of that kind of poison had ever survived. There is no special antidote to induce this poison, but healer mixed the strong ones together hoping that it would work.
"Semar... Is.. that ... you" Huor brokenly whispered as he tried to squeeze the hand that held his own in the grip.
"Shhhhhh.... Don't talk.Save your strength." Semar said softly as he sponged the Huor's wet brow.
"Semar......." Huor didn't finish the sentence because he suddenly lost his consciousness.
"Calaglin....Huor..He is unconscious. What do we do?" Semar called for the healer with the panicked voice.
"The fever was to strong and he couldn't fight it. Put him into a sitting position while I give him this potion. The coming hours will be critical for him, but I think that he might survive this."
Semar did as he was told to and healer started to sip a potion bit by bit through Huor's lips." This would be easier if he was conscious, but the poison is still strong and it is taking most of his body." Calaglin said softly and moved himself to the desk where the rest of the herbs were located.
"Semar Do you know who did this to him?"
"No, I don't. The person who did this was gone when I came to Huor's aid."
"I hope that we will find out soon. This poison is only used by Easterlings and I think there are none in Imladris. This deed was done by an elf. Semar do you know if Huor had any enemies or such"
"I don't know if he had any enemies. I don't know him very well"
"Strange, the worry in your eyes told me a different story. Are you sure you are telling me the truth. Semar I know you two cannot stand each other, but now I think I might be wrong. Tell me have you two become closer. Maybe lovers or such" Calaglin raised an eyebrow in question.
"Valar forbid, No! Where did you get that idea from?"
"No! Hmmmm...why are you holding his hand so tightly then."
Semar blushed furiously and removed his hand from the Huor's. He felt slight twinge of loss and he felt like he had lost some kind of the connection to the Huor's soul, since his hand didn't touch Huor's no more.
"No, I don't mind you holding his hand and I will stop teasing you for that. He needs the support through this time and I think you might be the one to give him that. I already gave him five antidotes and I must wait till morning to repeat the dose. Will you stay with him while I go check on the other patient. I will be back later to check on Huor."
"Yes, I will stay."
"If his situation worsens call me immediately, but I hope that his sleep is helping him to heal. Are you sure that you are comfortable staying here with him."
"Yes, I am sure. If he gets worse I will definitely call you, Calaglin."
"All right I will be back in hour or so."
Calaglin left the room closing the door quietly behind him. Semar took hold of the Huor's hand again, and brushed couple of the hair strands from his face. Huor's breathing was stabilized and his pulse was beating with medium pace. The paleness of his skin looked almost abnormal and his hands were strangely cold.
"Fight Huor. You cannot die. Who would chase me through the halls if you are gone. Fight." He started to talk to the still form on the bed as to cheer him up, but Semar knew perfectly well that Huor couldn't hear him. The Calaglin's words came to his mind and he smiled a little. (Was it so visible, this concern for the Huor.) He wondered if this was something new or it was buried in his mind for so long, and it surfaced now from its depths. He thought that he didn't like the councilor, but sometimes his heart and his desires disagreed.
He knew that from deep, this want for Huor was too strong but he never showed it. He always covered it. Now it seemed to him that he liked this closeness to the councilor and he liked this feeling of taking care of somebody. Anybody in that matter. He was alone for all of his life, never letting any feelings go or loving somebody as strongly as he could. The question that rang through his head was should he let go off his guards now, and could he love this elf, the elf that he thought he couldn't stand but on the other hand he wanted so much. Huor was a strange elf in his eyes. The old this elf was, older than himself in many ways, but never did Huor had the need to commit himself to someone. (Why do I think that there is chance for us? If he survives this ordeal we will go back to the same relationship between us we had before. That relationship is based on hate. But I don't hate him. Do I) Semar had so many questions in his head and his feelings were all confused.
He realized that the hate is not the one of the feelings he harbored for the other elf. He wished that it was so, but the wishing was foul. He only hoped that the Huor would make it through the night and in the morning that he could leave to his chambers and from the councilor's side. He couldn't afford to love somebody, especially Huor. Huor's reputation wasn't the golden one and the other elf frequently had to have a bedmates by his side.
Semar knew that if he ever admitted his feelings, whatever they were, to Huor that the other elf would just use him for one night, and later discard him like the rest of his lovers. No, it was better to hide it all behind the mask than to be hurt by the elf who wore one. He knew that his heart would not survive an actual heartbreak. And this elf called Huor was the danger to all who posses a sensitive heart.
