CH 12. The prank and first encounters

Haldir rode with Gandolf and the others followed behind him.

Haldir spoke to the lovely lady, “Lady Chrissy, tell me about thy self?

Gracefully Chrissy answered, “Well I am not from here and to give you the short version, I am trying to find out why I am here and I was hoping Lord Elrond could tell me.”

Gandolf broke in, “Haldir, I do not know how much Galadriel has told you for Lord Elrond and his army will need you.”
Haldir and Gandolf spoke for a while about what Galadriel had share with him.

The time went by and they ran into a party of Elves that were sent by Lord Elrond. Before they knew it they were in the borders of Rivendell.

Chrissy looked at the party of Elf’s, she began to think how her and Arwen would greet them. She saw the Merchwarden, called up to him and said something to the familiar Elf that only Larien used when she was coming home. She jumped down from the horse, grabbed Legolas’s bow and Shot an arrow at the tree.

Laughing Chrissy said, “Llie n'vanima ar' lle lle atara lanneina!”

Chrissy ran fast like the wind, dropped Legolas’s bow for something had come over her senses. Legolas couldn’t understand why would she say you're ugly and your mother dresses you funny.

Was this some kind of code she used with the guards, he thought. Legolas jumped down and ran after the strange woman.
The guards froze when they heard her say this, for Larien said this when she came home. They ran after this young woman who use Larien’s code word!

The woman was fast and gave them a run they would long remember. She ran into the gardens and hid behind some bushes. Chrissy saw them running to catch her but they could not see where she had gone too.

She gazed upon this wonderful garden. It was very breath taking and there was something familiar when she recognized the Sweet Peas and Lilac’s that were growing. She went over to the bench and sat down, closed her eyes, to let the smell illuminate her body.

Someone said in a soft voice, “I have been waiting for you to arrive and the mess out front must be of your doing.” The lady’s giggle was so soft and light.

Arwen remembered when Larien and herself would play games with the Merchwarden, when they came home from a long journey. They would get into so much trouble for playing tricks.

She opened her eyes to see who was speaking to her and it was the Lady Elf, Arwen, she had recognized in the dream.

Chrissy about fell off the bench and said, “I thought you were apart of my imagination and Gandolf said you were not a figment that I made up!”

Then Chrissy got up and walked over to the Lady Elf. Arwen hugged her and had missed her sister dearly.

This blindsided her because she felt apart of Arwen’s world here at Rivendell. She broke from the embrace and took the Elf’s beauty in. Arwen was tall, with Brown hair and blue eyes that matched her own eyes. But wondered why her hair was brown, if they were truly sisters.

Embarrassed Chrissy stated, “I am sorry for the mess, I meant no harm to anyone, I was just fooling around. Something came over me to say those things.”

Before Arwen could speak Lord Elrond was standing across the way of the garden. Chrissy then knew where the dark hair that looked like amber came from.

Soothing, Lord Elrond said, “Come forth, Lady Chrissy.”

Chrissy glanced over and saw this Elf speaking to her directly. In that moment, she had a flash back of the Elf on the balcony, she remembered that his face was hidden from her eyes and knew this was the Elf Lord in her dream because of the silver crown that was around his head.

Realty soon hit her when the Merchwarden came to put her in some sort of binds.

Arwen’s face turned red in anger and said, “Do not put my sister in binds for she was only playing.”

Both of the Merchwarden faces were stunned as they gazed over at Lord Elrond to see what his reaction would be.

Sternly Lord Elrond, “Let her go, my daughter gave you a command, for Lady Chrissy shall not play pranks again.”

Lord Elrond laughed at the incident that was played on his Merchwarden. He remembered how Idril would laugh and tell him that they were playing. He knew that the two girls need to be punished, however, he could never give them a punishment. Then Legolas, Gandolf and Elendil walked in to find that all of them were out in the gardens.

Gandolf looked at Lord Elrond and hadn’t seen him laugh like that in years. Gandolf started to laugh also because he thought it was funny that all she had to do was yell at them and off the guards went chasing after this woman.

Not amused, Legolas said, “What has gotten in to you?”

Arwen looked at the now irritated Legolas and said, “You should not throw stones at someone who used to play foolish games on his own guards.”

Legolas turned three shades of red when Arwen said this to remind him of his own foolishness.

Legolas knew that Arwen was right and apologized for the tongue-lashing he had given Lady Chrissy. Arwen giggled at Legolas for his careless behavior.

Chrissy stood there in astonishment because she didn’t know that she could cause such a ruckus and get away with not being punished. The whole thing was rather harmless as Gandolf pointed out and he knew that it was all in fun.

Rivendell went back to normal and the woman walked over to Lord Elrond. He was so happy that she had returned back into his life and Arwen’s. He was confused about how she had turned into a human. He looked at her long honey blonde, curly hair, the big blue-green eyes and the way she resembled Idril in many ways.
