The darkness all around, surrounded him and his senses, and Glorfindel sighed as he tried to see through the thick wail of the black color. He was alone in this place, no one around he could speak to, to ask for directions, only silence was his bitter companion. Glorfindel stood there in one place, cold and confused as he waited to wake up from this terrible nightmare, that he thought was his dream. But it was not a dream. He knew that he was dead or somewhere near the death, somewhere where the line between existence and peace formed the gap in between. Yes, he was dead before and he was at Halls of Mandos with the other fallen elves, but this place was strange. He was lonely here, there was no one to share the words with, or at lest to hear them back. Was I destined to spend here my second death? He asked himself as the time passed into the hours, but he didn't get his answer. He sat down on the solid ground as the tears of fear and uncertainty graced his eyes. He remembered the face of the one he hugged in his mind and the warm comfort rushed through him, chasing the cold he felt, from his body. The voice suddenly reached his ears and he stood up to find out the source of it. It was a soothing, calming, soft but powerful voice and it held within itself a magnificent enigma.
"Glorfindel" It said. " You wonder why you are here at this place. Do you not? I know that you want to leave this darkened place and that it scares you to feel this loneliness that you are feeling now. Wait for the light, my child. It will come to you soon. When it appears grab to it and hold on. Love is your savior, my son." The voice suddenly disappeared before Glorfindel could utter any reply. The Valar had spoken to him, but Glorfindel didn't understand the meanings behind some words that were meant for him. (What kind of light was he talking about. I must wait for it I know that, but when will it show. I don't understand.). It gave him some hope that maybe he will be taken from this place into a much lighter one. He hated darkness and he wanted so much to get away from this place. He closed his eyes trying to imagine that he was somewhere else, in the garden full of flowers as the sun bathed his face. He started to sing a song his mother sang to him when he was a child and he was scared. If he was meant to spend the rest of his existencee hee he would at least defy this silence with a calming song.

Elrond slowly rubbed the healing salve on Glorfindel's wounds, wrapping them up with bandages. His assistant placed the cup on Glorfindel's lips coaxing the potion very carefully down the throat, sip by sip. There were no signs of Glorfindel's situation getting better by now. He was so cold and the pulse was so faint. Elrond held a little hope that Glorfindel would make it through this night. They worked on his wounds for about two hours now, and Elrond tried really hard to suppress the tears that were about to burst from his eyes. (I will not loose the little hope that I have. Glorfindel is strong and he will make it). He knew if Elda survived, the memories of this night would make his life a living hell. But he still had to try to save him, because he was not willing to let go and to loose his friend. The door of the healing room slowly opened and Elrond turned to tell the person who disturbed them to go away. The pale figure of Erestor stood there on the threshold and Elrond saw the tears streaming down his eyes. The expression on Erestor's face was the full of the sadness, he almost looked like he had lost all of his hope and all will of life had been taken from him. Elrond bandaged the last visible wound he was working on and moved to his assistant's side to wash his hands. He had no heart to tell Erestor to leave and he quickly dried his hands, slowly walking up to Erestor's side. Erestor stood like a statue, his eyes fixed on the bandaged still form on the bed. The sobs started to wreck Erestor's body and he knelt down on the floor because his legs felt to weak for him to stand. Elrond knelt down with him too, hugging the distressed elf and slowly patting his back.
"Erestor, mellon-nin listen to me. Do not despair. He is still alive and there is still chance that he might make it. You have to have a hope, my friend. Tears will not bring him back to us. You have to be strong."
"He....willl not....awake. He is lost to us." Erestor replied between his quiet sobs, standing up and moving beside the bed where Glorfindel lay. Glorfindel looked so peaceful in his final sleep and Erestor's form flinched when he saw all those bandages on Glorfindel's body and cuts on his face. Erestor's sobs became still and the words that he said came as a bit of surprise to Elrond.
"I know there is something I can do to save him and I will do it gladly. Elrond you know what I am talking about. I need to do this"
"I know what you are talking about., my friend. I see it in your mind. But this I must say to you. Erestor it is very risky to even think about saving him that way. You both could die if something goes wrong. I cannot allow you to do that."
"Elrond, I want to save him. He will not make it through the night if I don't do this. I want to give him half of my life energy and I want you to show me what to do. I will not loose him."
"Erestor you need to have a great deal of concentration to do this. You need to have strong will to pull him from the death's grip. Are you sure you want to sacrifice yourself like that. There are other ways which we could try to save him. The danger of death would lie with you both, and it is not safe to say that you will survive this process of sharing the energy. Even I didn't use the energy within me to heal Celebrian after she was tortured by orcs. Erestor what you are demanding is impossible to do."
"Elrond I have to try. I am not afraid to do this. Please.....you are wasting the precious time. I am begging you again, my friend. Please show me what to do."
"All right...Erestor. I will show you this process of sharing your energy. You are aware that with the share of the energy comes the bond of marriage too. If he makes it through he will be your bonded, your husband, and you two must always be together, never apart. If either of you rejects your bond you both will fade. This what I am going to tell you about this process is really important. The sign that you have shared half of your energy is the sharp pain in your heart. You need to watch for that pain, because when it starts, you need to stop giving him your energy. If you don't stop, both of you will die immediately. This process also depends on your strength and on the will to make it. This is very slippery process and concentration is your map through this road my friend. Do you want to start now?" Elrond prayed that the other would say no, because so many had tried this way of healing but few of them had made it. The decision was Erestor's and he really tried to persuade his councilor not to so this, but nothing could stop him from this path.
"Yes, I am aware of all of this and I want to start immediately. What should I do?'
"First you need to lay there beside him on the bed and place your left arm on his chest." Elrond stopped his explanation while he waited for Erestor to settle down beside Glorfindel.
" All right now when you had done that, I want you to close your eyes and relax. Don't utter any words and only think about your task. Reach deep within yourself and find the shimmering light in your mind. You will not see it at first but you need to concentrate on finding it. The best way to reach it is to think about something that makes you happy, something you love the most of all. When you reach it, my friend, only say 'yes' and we will continue." Elrond stopped talking giving Erestor some time to clear his thoughts and to concentrate. He moved himself to the door and locked it so they can have some peace and quiet. He slowly seated himself on the chair beside the bed, careful not to make any noise. He anxiously waited for those words that were sign for him to continue. He waited for half an hour and then finally slow whispering voice said yes.
"All right, my friend. So we begin." Elrond said softly while he prepared himself for the worst thing he had to do in all of his life. He feared that today he will loose both of them, and he couldn't control this faith. (Please Valar let it not be so. Let them pull through this)
"Erestor now I need you to grab that light in front of you and hold it tight. Nod with you head if you had done so." Elrond waited for Erestor's nod and then he continued." Good now pull at it and if you feel the pain going through your body, well, that is the sign that you had started to share your light. You might loose your consciousness if the pain gets to strong, but you will be aware of what you are doing with your energy. Remember, the sharp pain that will occupy your heart is the sign to stop. If you understand, nod once more"
Erestor nodded with a small frown upon his face that told Elrond 'it indeed had started'. Harsh gasp broke from Erestor's lips as the pain started to tear him apart. In the state that he was in, there was indeed the shiny light and he pulled it with all of his strength. The pain was unbearable and it almost seemed like thousands of knives stabbed into his flesh. He tried to concentrate on this light, but with passing minutes it was beginning to get more harder. He gritted his teeth as the another wave of the stronger pain shot through his body. He wanted to scream, to stop, but the feeling of the other body beside him, and the feeling of that warmth kept him going on. The sudden darkness came up behind him and he felt it behind his back, but he still pulled on that light, trying so bad to hold on to his conciseness. The pain that enveloped him finally took that privilege away from him and he fell unconscious in front of the Elrond's eyes. Elrond was in panic, because he saw the pain on the Erestor's face and the tension of the others body almost made him want to stop all of this. There was nothing he could do now, but wait. (Erestor was stubborn elf and he would try his best to save Glorfindel. There is no need to worry. Oh Valar,Yes there is need to worry, but I need to stop thinking like they will not make it. They will make it.) Elrond's somewhat optimistic thoughts made this all lighter for him as he watched Erestor and the signs of the situation in front of him.
The darkness behind him was frightening and it touched him while he was still in front of the light. It was cold and the warmth he felt before was now gone. The Glorfindel was there beside him and he could feel the others small light of life which was barley becoming bigger. (What am I doing wrong. His light is still small) . He wondered what he was missing in this process and he knew that he needed to try his best to give Glorfindel more of the life's energy. He felt like he had been doing this for hours and suddenly that sign he was so dreading, showed up. The sharp pain, sharpest of it all, went through his heart. He concentrated on Glorfindel and on his light but the pain didn't diminish. He knew that he needed to stop or the consequences would be dire. (Remember what Elrond told you. You must stop now or you and Glorfindel will die. Stop Erestor You must stop.) His mind was screaming at him but his stubborn heart wanted to give more of his energy to Glorfindel. Something pulled at him and he fought to stay there beside his energy, but the more he tried , the stronger was this darkness around him. The darkness indeed had mind of it's own and fought for its prey, but the will of the light keeper was not about to fail.
Elrond felt the disturbing aura around the Erestor's body and he yelled into his ear, praying that the councilor will hear his words. "Erestor, cease now, mellon-nin. Stop it or you will be lost. Erestor...."

"He is coming now. He is going to pay for what he did to me. He will pay now." The figure hidden in the shadow of the darkness talked to himself as he waited for the person he was seeking, to come closer to this site. He was hidden behind the statue as he looked upon with fury at the others features. He gripped the knife in his hand, ready to use it when the time was convenient for him.
Huor stopped himself in his walk, immediately sensing that something in the air was wrong. He had a feeling that somebody was watching him and his senses became more aware at the danger that he may encounter. He moved himself beside the bench, turning his back to the statue while he scanned the rest of the garden.
He was knocked of his feet in the surprise and before he could react the pain shot through his stomach. He didn't know what was happening and looking down he saw that on the left side of his stomach was embedded the knife. (What in the name of Valar) The pain was to strong and it suddenly made him lightheaded. He turned to see who attacked him but the person was gone as quickly as it came. The blood started to pour out from his wound and he knew that the knife lay deep within him. Suddenly he saw the blond haired figure beside the gate of the garden and he brokenly called for the help, letting out the painful groan. Semar stopped himself in his tracks, beside the gate as his ears caught the small voice and strange moan coming from the right side of the garden. It called for the aid and he didn't hesitate to find out the cause. Quickly scanning the area he saw that there beside the statue, figure was laying on his back. Approaching the scene he saw that it was Huor and he quickly came to his side.
"Huor what is it. Oh my Valar who did this to you ."Semar paled as he saw the knife embedded inside the Huor's stomach. "We must go to healer. Can you walk."
"No, I can't. I can't feel my legs anymore. I feel strangely light headed. I think the knife was poisoned"
"I will carry you to the healing house. We must hasten, now. Your wound looks bad"
Semar carefully deposited the Huor onto his arms careful not to touch the blade, and walked out of the gardens towards the healing chambers. The blood that was pouring from the wound got on his leggings and he knew that the other was lng tng to much blood. He heard Hour's groan and he quickened his pace..He could feel that the elf in his arms was slowly on the way to loose his consciousness and he wondered how grave this wound was. Huor's eyes were closed and Semar said these words with loud demanding voice, but also there was something else in that voice that surprised him a bit.It was a concern, but not just concern but also the hint of the care.
'Huor stay awake. You cannot fall asleep right now. You are loosing so much blood and you need to have your wits with you. Stay awake. Please do not let go."
