Narya had been having a blast so far with her day. She had eaten
many goodies in the kitchens, she had played in the fountains
(despite looks from Elflings and adult Elves alike) and had picked
wild flowers and made them into flower chains, which she put in her
hair and on the heads of Glorfindel, Elrond, and several others.
So far, she was very pleased with herself and her day, and Narya
wondered what to do next. The forest caught her eye, and she started
towards it, excited about exploring it. As she walked, she glanced
back over her shoulder, making sure no one was following her. She
was not supposed to go into the forest alone. That was Legolas'
strictest rule.
But having been in Rivendell for a month now as his wife, she learned
that she had so much more freedom then she had ever had in her entire
life since her parents died. Narya had been thrilled with this, and
had lived life to the fullest, but today she may have gone a bit
overboard. But having not yet been caught, she felt confidof
of
herself, pretty much. Still, it didn't hurt to make sure no one had
caught up with her antics.
She hurried into the forest, and for about an hour she explored it,
having the best time. Then she figured she had better head back home
before Legolas started looking for her. Little did she know he had
already started doing that, and had also involved the help of others
as well.
As she left the forest she constantly looked over her shoulder, never
thinking that trouble could come from the front instead of the back,
but it did. She took about three more steps before she slammed right
into that trouble.
"Oops." Narya said, looking up to face her trouble, which was
Elrond. He gave her an amused, yet irritated look, a small petal
from her previous gift of a flower chain still caught in one of his
braids. "My Lord." She bowed, and nearly fell over again. Somehow
that bowing thing never got easier!
Elrond caught her quickly before she could hit the ground, and gave
her a stern look, one that Arwen or the twins would have recognized
as the look that came as a warning for impending doom upon their
backsides. "Lady Greenleaf." He said, his commanding voice
grave. "What are you doing coming out of the forest? As I recall,
your husband told you not to go in there alone." He raised one of
his famous, and rather feared, eyebrows, waiting for her answer.
"I, uh, felt the need for some restful peace my Lord." Narya
squirmed under his warning look, as any naughty maiden does when they
have been caught in the act of mischief making. "Perhaps...Legolas
need not know?" She asked in a squeak.
Elrond again frowned at her. "There are plenty of places in my home
and around the grounds to find peace, Narya." He scolded her. "Your
husband has told you many times not to go into the forest alone, not
matter what. You should have listened to him." Narya felt ashamed
and hung her head, a little whimper escaping her pretty lips.
The Elf-Lord watched her for a moment. "If it were up to me child, I
would not tell your husband about this, because it is the first time
you disobeyed him on it. But he is already looking for you, and
since no one has been able to find you in the house or around the
grounds, he suspects that you did indeed go into the forest. He will
not be pleased to know that his suspicions are correct, especially
since you have already misbehaved several times today."
She whimpered again, and her hands flew back to cover her small
bottom. "Perhaps I should go to our room, and if you see him, you
could tell him where I am?" Narya asked, without looking up from her
feet.
Elrond studied on the thought for a moment. "Yes, that is a wise
suggestion. But, can I trust you to go straight to the room?"
"Yes sir, I'm very sorry." Narya told him sincerely. She rather
hoped for a hug, but was too shy to ask.
Elrond smiled softly. "That is good. Because if you do not go to
your room, and I tell Legolas you are there, and he comes to find the
room emptyu wiu will be in even more trouble. Do you understand
child?" Narya nodded her understanding, sniffling a little. She
could feel her backside tingle and was not looking forward to being
spanked by her beloved, but would not make it any worse!
Elrond gave her a comforting smile. "Good." He gathered her into
his arms for a comforting hug, and kissed the top of her head in a
fatherly fashion. He inwardly sighed, knowing she was in for quite a
spanking, and feeling bad for her. But he also knew she deserved
it. Not only had she gone into the forest, but she had also caused
great mischief everywhere she went before that. So far, Elrond had
been told that she had gone into the horse stables and attempted to
ride one of the animals, knocking several things over while she did.
She had run off from there before she could be caught and played in
all of the fountains that were scattered around the courtyard, and
after that she proceeded to run up and down the halls in her wet
clothes, making nose and another mess.
"I should go." Narya said after a few moments in his embrace. "I
will go there straight away." She hurried into the house, passing a
bedroom where some visiting dignitaries and their Elflings were
staying. She heard giggles, and looked inside to see the Elflings
jumping upon the large bed. Instantly her worries vanished. That
looked like so much fun!
Narya then hurried to her room, and began jumping upon the bed she
shared with Legolas, giggling like a wee Elfling, having an absolute
blast!
