A New World

Chapter 11: Making new Friends

Uruviel looked around and thought /It's so beautiful here./ She looked at her companion and asked, "Aragorn, are we close to Lothlorien?"

Aragorn gave her a puzzled look and said, "How did you know that?"

Uruviel chuckled and said, "That's a long and a strange story." She took his hand into hers and they kept riding.

Aragorn smiled and looked around and thought /We’re almost at the borders./ He smiled and couldn't wait to see his friends. He stopped his horse and saw Uruviel looking at him and said, "You'll see why we stopped." He waited and suddenly a few guards jumped down in front of them. He smiled when he recognized them. He looked at Uruviel and saw her startled look. He chuckled and dismounted his horse and looked at the two guards. He walked to them and said [" Haldir of Lorien, it's good to see you. How do you fare?"]

Haldir was looking at Uruviel, but a nudge in his side snapped him out of his stare and he looked at Aragorn and said [" I fare well, my friend. But don't you think it's rude to talk in my native tongue in front of her?"]

Aragorn smiled and said ["I guess you're right."] He looked at Uruviel and said, "Come, dismount your horse and greet my two friends." He walked to her and helped her off the horse and guided her back to the two guards.

Uruviel looked at Haldir and thought /He looks so cute. I hope it won’t go as in the movies. I don’t want to see him die./ She smiled at him and then looked at Aragorn. She felt a nudge in her side and she looked back at Haldir again and said, "Hello Haldir. It's great to finally meet a good- looking elf." She placed a hand in front of her mouth when it hit her what she just said. She looked down to the ground and felt that her face was getting a red flush.

Haldir chuckled and said, "Have we met, fair lady?" He looked at Aragorn when she didn’t answer him.

Aragorn smiled and said, "She knows things I don’t know. But, anyway, I or she might tell them someday." He looked at Rumil and said, "Uruviel, this is Rumil."

Uruviel dared to look up again and looked at the elf that stood next to Haldir and said, "Good to meet you, Rumil."

Rumil smiled and took her hand and guided it to his lips. He gave a gentle kiss on the back of her hand and said, "Nice to meet you too, Uruviel. I hope you will be staying here for a while."

When they all were introduced, they took their horses and walked further into the Lothlorien woods.

Haldir was walking next to Aragorn and said, "Aragorn, there is someone else here you might want to see."

Aragorn looked at him and said, "Who?" He thought about it and proceeded, "You don’t mean Legolas, right?” He smiled more when he saw Haldir nodding to hHe lHe looked at Uruviel and said, "Uruviel, we don't have to travel for a while. The other friend I wanted to show you is here as well." He smiled and said, "Haldir, where is he? I didn't see him with you."

Haldir smiled and said, "That's correct he is hunting with Orophin and a friend of Orophin’s. I don’t know when they will return. But when I see them, I will tell him that you are here."

They kept walking till they reached the city. They all halted.

Haldir looked with pride and said, "Welcome to Caras Caladhon. The city of Lord Celeborn and the Lady of Light.

Uruviel looked at the beauty in front of her and all she could say was "wow!"

They all looked at her with a smile. They continued walking again.

Haldir and Rumil walked on either side of Uruviel. Haldir looked at her and said, "Our Lord and Lady want to see you Uruviel, so if you will please follow us..."

Uruviel nodded and was very nervous. She followed Haldir and Rumil. They arrived at their destination and walked up the stairs till they reached a large platform. Haldir turned to her and whispered, "You don't have to be nervous. They are nice, I promise." He turned around again and saw Celeborn and Galadriel descending the stairs. The three of them bowed their heads. Uruviel remembered something in the movie and placed her hand on her heart and after they bowed their heads, they looked up again.

Celeborn and Galadriel looked with interest at Uruviel till Celeborn spoke, "Uruviel, we welcome you to our realm. We received word from Elrond about your problem and we will help you in finding your way home--" Galadriel interrupted him and said, "She has made her decision. She does not want to go home. She wants to stay, but her heart aches still." Celeborn looked at his love and then at Uruviel and said "Haldir bring her to a good talan. We will talk about it when she has rested."

Haldir nodded and the three of them bowed once more and left. Haldir looked at her and said, "Follow me." He walked to a talan and in the meantime Rumil went away to get Aragorn. He returned again with Aragorn and the four of them walked to the talan. Haldir opened the door and said, "Uruviel, we hope to see more of you in the time you are staying here, don't we, Rumil?" Rumil smiled and nodded. They said goodbye and left.

Uruviel smiled and looked at Aragorn and said, "They are nice. I will like it here or anywhere you take me." She walked into the talan and looked around. Once she was settled, she sat down against Aragorn and placed her head against his chest. She fell asleep after a few minutes.

Aragorn wrapped his arms around her and held her close. He smiled and whispered, "You will like ire, re, soon enough, love. Soon enough."
