Good News

Celeborn walked through Lorien reading and re reading the scroll. He still couldn't believe it said what it said. To say the least he was in shock that Galadriel would do something like this! He wandered into their room and saw her packing.

"Where are you going?" he asked her stunned.

"We are leaving for Imladis...tomorrow, first light." Galadriel said as she continued to pack.

"I told Elrond I would leave day after tomorrow." Celeborn was confused.

"I cannot tarry that long and well you know it." she retored harshly.

Celeborn closed his eyes and sighed. "If you regret this..." hs said as he waved the scroll around. "Tell me."

Galadriel paused and went to her husband. "Nay I do not regret writing that but I must go now or I will not have the strength."

Celeborn kissed his wife and nodded. "First light it is then."

Smiling Galadriel finished her packing and she laid down on the bed. Celeborn curled up behind her and they drifted off holding each other.

~*~*~*~*~

The next morning Celeborn and Galadriel set out for Imladis after re assuring Rumil and Orophin. They were to follow in two days time to go see their brother. The trip was short and uneventful, by the second day they could see the gates of Imladis. They saw Glorfindel standing guard over the small bridge that led to the main house. Smiling Glorfindel went to meet them after sending a servet to tell Lord Elrond.

"Welcome to Imladis milord, milady." Glorfindel bowed slightly.

"Diola Lle Glorfindel." Celeborn was pleased to be back here.

Galadriel smiled and thanked Glorfindel for his polite welcome. The servent came back and whispered into Glorfindel's ear before bowing and leaving.

"Lord Elrond wishes to see you in the study...Please follow me." Glorfindel turned and began to lead the way.

Celeborn and Galadriel followed, neither of them saying a word. When they reached the study door Galadriel asked Glorfindel if he'd fetch Haldir. Nodding Glorfindel left to do as they bid. They entered the study and sat in front of Lord Elrond's desk.

"Welcome back. Haldir had missrf you both." Elrond smiled at her in laws.

"Tomorrow I will go West." Galadriel stated.

"What? Why?" Elrond was stunned.

"I can no longer hold off it's siren call. Show him the scroll my husband." Galadriel sighed.

Celeborn handed Elrond the scroll that Galadriel had given him. Elrond read it and looked up at Galadriel stunned.

"You really wish to do this?" he asked.

Galadriel nodded. "Please witness the document..."

Elrond nodded and signed as a knock sounded on the door. The door opened and Haldir stepped inside. He smiled when he saw Celeborn and Galadriel.

"Please have a seat.." Galadriel patted the chair next to her.

Haldir sat but looked confused.

"I am going west tomorrow, Haldir." Galadriel told him softly. He started to speak but she held up her hand and he fell silent. "There is more young one."

Elrond handed Galadriel the scroll and she gave it to Haldir, who read it. Shocked he looked up.

Galadriel smiled and nodded. "That paper is now legal and binding. Celeborn and I are essentialy divorced. I would not leave these shores and let the two of you never be together. I love you both and want you to be happy. Live a long and prosperus life together." Galadriel smiled and kissed Haldir on the cheek before she left the room.

Elrond stood and quietly left the room also leaving som some privacy. Haldir stood and flug himself at Celeborn, he was so happy he was crying. Celeborn held his lover and they cried together in happiness.
