Chapter 10
"THREE" These were the last words Huor said before he started chasing Semar through the halls. The border guard was fast on his feet but Huor was still catching up because his rage was bigger than the need for a breath. Servants who were standing beside the library, talking, were wondering what is going on with those two.
"I will wring your little neck when ....I ..... catch you Semar." Huor breathlessly exclaimed while he tried to grab the other, but he was still behind.
"You are one crazy elf" Semar replied putting as much distance between them as it was possible. He was tired because this chase had lasted for a couple of minutes now. He wished that he had brought his weapons with him, because under these circumstances he needed them. Huor was gaining on him and he prepared himself for the fight. He didn't want to fight Huor because advisors battle skills, as strange as it sounds, were legendary. ( He fought in the Battle of the Last Alliance. I am so dead) Out of the sudden something caught Semar's eye and he gasped, his feet coming to the full stop.
"What in the world?" His face became white as the snow as before him was the sight that he never wanted to see. He stood there in shock as one tear slipped his eye, seeing his long time friend and mentor in the state he would never imagine to see him. He just stood there transfixed, not even caring that Huor stood there behind him.
Huor stopped himself when he saw the Semar doing the same too. He grinned and clenched his fists, ready to fight, but he realized that Semar was not aware of his presence behind him. Instead he was looking somewhere else. Huor's curiosity got gotten the best of him and he looked the way that obviously got Semar's attention. What he saw made him wish that he didn't look. His jaw dropped as he took it all in, and the shaky words escaped his lips.
"Oh, my Valar....."

Elrond entered his room slamming the door behind him. He was so angry but at the same time a little confused, while his thoughts danced inside of his head. ( How dare he. I am the lord of this realm, I deserve a respect. But he told me that he didn't know that it was me he was taking. Maybe I should forgive him. How did this all happen? )
Elrond was taking a walk when Semar told him that he should talk with his advisor about his attitude, earlier thight.ght. Elrond wondered why Huor and Semar are at each others necks all the time. ( I knew that something would happen to me in all of this. Maybe I should reconsider that trip to Lothlorien.)
His thoughts led him back to tonight and his anger subsided a little. Huor had taken him, thinking that he was the Semar, but he would lie if he would deny to himself that it wasn't quite welcome. Huor was a challenge for an elf and tonight he proved that all the rumors were true about him being a wonderful lover. Small smile escaped Elrond's lips and realizing that he was musing like the lovesick elfling, he stopped himself. Suddenly somebody opened the door of his chambers and he looked up to see dis disturbs him in this late hour.
The pale servant approached him and bowed his head respectfully.
"Pen-neth why do you disturb me. What is it?" Elrond asked, seeing the sad expression that lingered on the servants face?
"My lord I am sorry, but you are needed. Please hurry!" Servant exclaimed, while he tried to catch his breath.
Elrond knew that something was wrong when he heard the word hurry. He quickly pulled his boots and turned to his servant.
"Lead." He followed the young one through the halls to the courtyard and when he saw what the other was talking about, he brokenly said ,"OH, NO.......mellon-min"
"Why is everybody standing about and doing nothing. Somebody fetch my healing bag from my room, and call my assistant healer." He yelled at his servants, as he quickly came to the figure of his best friend, praying to Valar that it is not to late.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Erestor walked slowly through the garden, taking the sight of the stars and the night, finally taking the seat on the bench. The dinner with Meleron was canceled because the guard was called off on duty. He felt a huge wave of the relief when that happened because he and his mind wanted to be alone this night. This garden was the only place he could get some peace when his mind was troubled. He still lived with the regret and he cursed himself from time to time. He thought about Glorfinded whd what happened yesterday. He tried to think how to make this all better. He wished that the yesterday had never happened, but the wishes in his life were never fulfilled. Even his study felt cold today and there was no comfort or relief to be drawn from his work. He was lonely and now more than ever he understood what loneliness meant. Empty he was without the arms to hold him, love him, share the night's of pleasure with him. He wished that Valar would send him somebody, anybody to take this feeling he ehe emptiness away. ( But I still want Glorfindel. I wish that I wasn't a coward to admit my feelings to him. Now it is too late. ) He thought with a bitter sigh as he looked at the stars once more, that were shining so brightly this night.
The faint sound reached his ears and he stood up. He looked ahead trying to locate the source of the voices. Somebody yelled and he recognized Lord Elrond's voice. (Something is wrong. I must find out what ). He thought while he walked towards the courtyard. Approaching the elves that stood there he moved himself through the crowd, finally arriving at the scene. The Asfaloth stood there without his master. He looked to the right and saw Lord Elrond leaning over somebody and picking him up. He saw the strands of the blond hair, and his jaw opened wide. His legs were suddenly cut as suddenly he saw the face of the person, Lord Elrond was holding. The cry he let out was the one of the despair, broken hope, as he saw the battered bloody body in his lords arms.
"Glorfindel....."
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
*Earlier that night*( A/N: ummm...no killing me please)
Glorfindel quickly scanned the area before him and returned to his companions, who were riding their horses in front of him. Their task this night was to check on the guards which were on their posts, and to see if everything was clear of any danger. He sent couple of the guards inside of the woods, but four of them remained at his side. They rode slowly, quietly talking, their weapons ready to react on any sound. This area outside of Imladris was very tricky and it had sent many of the elves to their deaths. The major post was located about a one mile from this site, but this area was checked regularly to warn the others that they should beware when the time comes. Glorfindel hated doing this particular task, but he had to secure the safety of the other guards and of the Imaladris. This night was creepy and in back of his mind he h fee feeling that something will happen.
His nerves were tight as was his body, and the worry about the other elves that were inside the forest plagued his mind. They were gone for about an hour but none of them returned yet. He decided to go after them himself and he informed his companions to stay put. Entering the woods, he heard a sudden scream coming from behind him and he quickly returned to the clearing. He saw three of his guards fighting with ten orcs, and his gaze shifted to his fourth companion. He saw the bloody body on the grass and he yelled out his frustration as he started picking the orcs with his sword. More of the foul creatures were coming from the forest, about twenty at least. Glorfindel killed about seven of them and he knew that they needed a backup. He tried to reach the guard who had fallen in this battle, so he can get the horn and alarm the others on the post. He turned his horse still working through the crowd of the ugly creatures as he tried to see where the dead body lay. In the midst of it all he forgot to check on the others fighting with him, and he spun around to give them some orders. "Retrieve". His breath was stolen away as he realized that he was fighting alone and that the others had fallen as well. The orcs were gaining on him and his arm ached from defending himself, but he still tried his best to keep them away from him. Suddenly the blow on his head knocked him from his horse, and he found himself on the ground surrounded by the orcs. He tried to reach his sword but the tallest one of them kicked him on his head, and growled something on his foul tongue. Glorfindel's head was aching so bad and his vision was becoming blurry, and he stilled himself, trying to think any means of the escape. He heard the laughter of the orcs surrounding him, while the third blow was delivered and that was enough to send Glorfindel into the darkness.
*
(That stench. What is it? Ai, my head) Glorfindel thought as he was awaking with the pain ringing through his body. He opened his eyes but the darkness was the only sight that had greeted him. He heard the harsh voices around him and he tried to remember what happened and where he was. He tried to lift his arms to rub his eyes but they were tightly tied with something. The kick on his ribs surprised him and he cried out from the pain of it. He opened his eyes again and the darkness still didn't disappear. He remembered the fight, his dead companions, and realization that he was kidnaped by the orcs came to his mind. He heard the growls and the nasty laughter behind him and it was enough for him to start to panic. He struggled against his bounds, but with no avail. The legs around him started to kick him hard, and his struggles became still as the pain crushed on him. The knife slashed his chest forming a deep line and he cried out from the agony. cla claws began to explore his body and to tear off his clothes, as the panic grew to fear in Glorfindel's mind. He knew what was about to happen to him and he prepared himself mentally to receive this upcoming torture. But nothing could stop him from screaming as the creature sheathed himself inside, thrusting violently, bringing the burning pain with every movement. Glorfindel screamed and screamed but that didn't help him to stop all this anguish. ( I will not survive this. Valar have mercy on me, please take me from all of this. ) He didn't know when the one orc finished and the other started, because he lost the track of time, and his body strangely became accustomed to the pain every raping brought to him. The screams stooped itself and his struggles went still as his mind escaped somewhere else, somewhere better, seeing only one person in front of his eyes. He saw the strands of the raven black hair, lucious lips, the slim body of that person, and he smiled as in his thought he hugged that person in embrace. The person spoke to him giving him the comfort in all of this, telling him to hold on, that everything will be all right. His body, he didn't feel no more and everything that was done to him, he wasn't aware of. He held his love close to him in his mind, stroking the black hair, while the reality was lost to him and this state of mind remained. Suddenly the darkness pulled him for his shoulders and he struggled to hold on to his beloved, but the force was too strong. He begged for it not to take him, he wanted to stay here in these soft arms. The darkness wouldn't listen and quickly he was ripped from the warmth that he cherished so much, and he was led through the thick fog coming to the place so cold and dark. The orc realizing that the other wasn't reacting reached to check if the Glorfindel was still alive. He slapped him couple of times but he got no reaction from his prey, because the elf bellow him was already gone. The orc pulled himself from the elf and screamed as the arrow pearced his chest, it's body falling down. The orcs started to panic at the sight of their companion with the arrow embedded on his chest and suddenly they heard the horse footsteps so near them.
The guards marched from the forest killing everything in their reach, as the foul creatures started to flee. The Meleron got off his horse quickly as his eyes caught flash of the sunny strands. He saw the blonde figure laying there on the ground, naked and still. The others were still fighting around him and more of the foul creatures had fallen under their swords. Meleron ran to Glorfindel, gasping at the state of the elda. He quickly checked the pulse, and the fear came over him because it was very faint. He called for the other guard to bring him the blankets, and he slowly wrapped Glorfindel in them, trying to get him warm.
Meleron decided that he shouldn't waste any time and ordered for others to bring him a horse. Carefully he deposited tortured figure on the saddle and took his place behind Glorfindel. The Glorfindel's horse was the one he was riding and the Valar's gallop was fast but Meleron kept reminding himself that he raced against the time, and whispered the horse couple of the words, cheering him to go with the more speed. He was praying to the Valar that Glorfindel would make it, but holding the coody ody so close took all his hope away. All now depended on Lord Elrond healing skills, and on the Valar's mercy this night.
