CH 10
Arwen and Legolas raced to the aid of Larien whose fate was now in the Rider that held her life into the palm of his hand. The Warg was now in front of Larien and was about to devour her life.
Something unexpected happened to the situation, Larien got the upper hand as the Rider turned and looked at the two riding forcefully riding. She kicked the hellish creature off her as she punched the Warg in the face.
The blade went flying in to the air as it fell to the ground. The two creatures were stunned at her wistfulness. She ran fast as the wind to get to the sword. The other two ran quickly after the young maiden.
Larien turned around as she saw the two horrible creatures racing towards her at the speed of lightning. She knew it was now or never as the blade some how sliced the head of the Warg as the blood splattered once again onto her and the ground. Then she stabbed the Rider several times until it was dead. His eyes were frozen as he laughed to his death.
Larien hit the ground with her knees as she saw her Evil opponents dead as their blood lay on her clothing. Something was wrong, as if illness had taken over her body. Then, She dropped to the ground as that took all her strength to fight the two nasty beasts.
Legolas and Arwen gasped as they saw Larien cutting up the two as a fierce warrior. Arwen was so happy for her little sister but it was short lived as she passed out on the ground near the dead creatures. She gasps as Legolas did the same. He knew that their blades must have been poisoned for they’re tricky animals.
Legolas was the first to arrive at the scene as he jumped off his horse and ran quickly. Arwen was not far behind as she slid off her horse and ran closely behind him.
Legolas picked her small frame up into his arms, ”Are you alright, Lady Larien?” He asked, eager to hear her voice.
She twitched slightly a voice came over her, “Legolas, I do not feel well.” Larien cried out in pain as she held on to Legolas.
Legolas careful examined the wound on her arm, “I believe you have been poisoned by the blade that cut your skin.”
Arwen dropped to her sister’s side as she heard her cry out, “We must get her to our Father, and He will know what to do.”
Legolas let Larien ride with him but Arwen protested a little. They both rode fast in the night air. Larien was fading in out of consciousness due to the poison spreading throughout her body. As they approached the gates, Arwen was thankful to be home but her sister was in such terrible distress.
She yelled out to the guard, “Hurry find my father, Larien is very sick!”
The guard ran in fast to Lord Elrond’s study, “ord, ord, Arwen asks for your presence, Larien is very ill.”
He did not have to say another word as Lord Elrond ran fast to save his precious daughter. Lord Elrond could not believe his eyes as he saw the blood all over his daughter.
“What happened?” In a scared tone, Lord Elrond asked.
“Father, we ran into a Warg Rider and Larien fought bravely.” Arwen replied rather out of breath.
Lord Elrond felt Larien’s hands ice cold and he knew that if he did not get the poison out of her system, she would die.
“Legolas, give me Larien and I shall start the healing process.” Lord Elrond gently lifted his daughter out of Legolas’s arms.
Lord Elrond spoke, “ Thank you so much, old friend for leading my daughters back to safety.”
Legolas handed over Lady Larien to her father as he spoke, “It was my pleasure, Lord Elrond.”
He gave the Prince a look of appreciation as he turned and went inside the walls of the Palace.
Larien could not see very well, “Ada, is that you?” The voice was faint and was onlyhisphisper.
“Yes, my darling, do not try and speak. The poison in your body is spreading fast, I am going to try and counter act it with some herbs!” Lord Elrond spoke softly as tears began to build up in his eyes but he had to stay strong for his daughter.
Lord Elrond laid his daughter on the bed in the healing room. He called for his assistant as he came quickly. Lord Elrond went to the healing drawer where the herbs were located. He pulled out some leaves and began to crush them quickly as he stirred in some hot water. Adding a few more ingredients the potion was now ready.
He placed some into Larien’s mouth for her to drink as the medicine would counteract with the poison and flush it out of her system.
“Drink, Larien.” Lord Elrond spoke.
Larien drank the horrible tasting liquid, as she knew it would make her feel better. After taking all the medicine, the assistant was putting a cream substance on her skin where the blade struck and bandaging her arm up. They both finished and prayed that they had gotten to the poison in time.
Lord Elrond sat in the chair next to his daughter,st mst my Larien, Ada is here.” Larien fell fast asleep as her father stroked her cheek softly.
Meanwhile, Arwen went running through the palace trying to find her mother, “Desh'mieve where are you?”
Lady Idril heard Arwen yelling out her name as she spoke, “I am here, Arwen, What is the matter?”
Arwen stated franticly, “Mother, Larien is very sick! Ada has taken her to the healing room. A Warg Rider had attacked Larien and she was struck by the beast’s blade that was poisoned!” Arwen had tears in her eyes.
“Oh, my, Arwen!” She gasped as her worst fearse noe now coming to reality!
“Take me to her at once!” Instructed Lady Idril.
Theth hth hurriedly went to the healing room, Idril was most afraid for her spirited daughter. As the approached the room, the assistant was speaking with Prince Legolas.
Lady Idril said in the distance while walking, “Prince Legolas, How is thee?” She smiled as she neared. Arwen was looking down as worry hit her thoughts.
Legolas answered, “I am well, it’s thy daughter I am greatly worried about.”
Lady Idril stated, “How is Larien?” Tears welted up in her eyes.
