The White City of Gondor towered in the distance, shining like a beacn thn the dying light. Sitting upon her horse, Valaina made her way to the gates slowly. She was in no rush.

Ever since the coaltion between Men and Elves had been formed, the door the the cities and realms of Middle-Earth had been opened wide, allowing the free passage of all those joined in war against the Dark Lord. The war itself, though, sim simmered long ago; Sauron had retreated and hidden himself away, and Middle-earth had been relatively content for nearly five years. Meager for elves, but a well of peace for Men.

Under her magenta hood, Valaina watched the walls of Minas Tirith with slight distaste. It had been a long while since she had been in the company of Men, a people who she had been taught were dirty and unworthy of honour. She had her orders, though, and she was nothing if not strong. She would get what she came for.

Pale moonlight filled the courtyard as she passed through the gates. Dismounting her horse and handing the reins to a stableboy, she pursed her lips and stared at the many passages around her. "Boy," she said before the young man led her horse away, "Where would I find the Stewards?"

"The highest level, miss," he replied, averting his eyes when hers flickered down to him. He trembled beneath her stare.

Exhaling softly, Valaina left the courtyard and started for the upper levels of the city.
