Child of Lorien
Prologue: A Child Of Lorien
Lannyn of Lothlorien walked quietly among the trees, searching for the silver hair clasp that Haldir had given her for her 100th birthday, she smiled as she thought of it and then frowned as she remembered Orophin and Rumil’s prank. They were so mean to her! She remembered their mockery of her eccentricity and the teasing that they so enjoyed.
She was still young by Elvin standards, little more than a child really, but she didn’t care. At little under 2 centuries old she thought herself invincible. Unfortunately those who come to this conclusion are often wrong.
Lannyn had wandered far beyond the boundaries of Lorien’s March Wardens when the prickling of the hair on the back of her neck reminded her that she had let her guard down, and now she was not alone. She looked over her shoulder into the darkness of the forest only to find a movement of something that seemed somehow darker than the black around her.
She turned and ran, as fast as her fleet-footed Elvin legs would carry her. The dark presence was hot on her tail and she felt fear enter her heart for the first time.
“Momma! Father!” Lannyn screamed as she stumbled through the trees, the smell of something large and evil behind her drove her to move faster, “Haldir! Orophin! Rumil! Tua amin!” ((Help me!))
She raced out of the trees and onto the plains below the forest of Lorien, the evil still loomed behind her as she dodged and ran her feet moving lightly among the roots and loose dirt. She leapt across a small stream and landed on the other side in a crouch not stopping her forward movement. She shot arrows over her shoulder at the oncoming darkness, the black mist that chased her away from her homeland. She was swift but not swift enough and as it enveloped her in its deep black depths she felt her world melt away.
Instinctively she knew that the years were passing around her as slowly but surely the darkness around her stripped away her past. Then finally she was released. A young Elvin woman with no memory of her past stumbled into Edoras her clothing torn and dirty and her long golden blonde hair tangled and fouled, hanging in mats and snarls to her upper thighs. Violet blue eyes shone with tears as she collapsed on the King’s doorstep.
It was there that a 16-year-old Shield maiden by the name of Eowyn found her and brought her in froe coe cold.
OOC: This is just the prologue the chapters following this one will be longer, R&R! Thanky kindly!
