Chapter 1

It was a sunny morning as Tamara wandered through the forest, she had been warned not to stray far from home but unusually her natural sense of awareness was overtook with mindless dreaming. It was as she moved into the denser part of the forest that they first spotted her.

They could see that she was not a threat almost immediately, but still they did not like strangers wandering through their forests, who knew what trouble they could bring. It was with a growl of anger that Haldir March Warden of Lothlorien realised that the stranger was wandering even deeper into the forest with no real intention of leaving soon.

Haldir dispatched the rest of the Elves to resume their normal patrols, he would take care of the human himself. He silently stalked his prey as she moved deeper and deeper into the forest. Haldir was inwardly intrigued as no other human had dared to come this deep into the forest for as long as he could remember.

There was no real reason for humans not to enter the forest except their own foolish myths about the Elves, they were scared of the silent figures that skirted the boundaries of the forest, they had for generations spoke about the never ageing magical beings who could disappear into the forest and never be found.

Tamara was not even aware of her surroundings anymore, she was lost in her own troubled thoughts. Cameron had asked her father for permission to marry Tamara, and her family had accepted his proposal without even consulting her. It was not that she disliked Cameron but she did not love him of that she was sure.
She could not blame her family though as they were struggling to survive and a mouth less to feed would be a huge bonus for them. But it was no easier to accept her imminent marriage.

Haldir watched as the human stumbled on a root and went crashing down on the forest floor.Tamara looked around with a start as she realised just how far she had wandered, it was then she saw the figure standing half hidden behind the tree.
Realising he had been seen Haldir walked from the tree and closed the distance swiftly, "Who are you, and why do you enter the realm of the lady?"
Tamara just stared, she was struck silent by the proud handsome creature in front of her.
"Answer me" Haldir insisted
"I....i " Tamara stuttered "i didn't realise how far i had came, i am very sorry i will leave" as Tamara stood to leave her ankle gave a sickening crunch and only Haldirs swift grasp stopped her from landing back on the ground,
"You appear to have injured yourself” said Haldir...
“Uumm it is nothing honest eh.......im sorry i should not be here im sorry” said Tamara with a hint of urgency and panic in her voice that Haldir was not slow to pick up on,
“You have done nothing wrong, there is no reason to be sorry i like to keep track of strangers wandering around our forests, even ones that look as gormless as you” said Haldir with a sneer.
Tamaras cheeks flamed , with embarasment or anger she was not sure but the result was the same, she hated this arrogant creature in front of her of that she was sure.
Haldir sensed the change and loved every second of it, life had been boring these past few decades he needed a new challenge even if it was this silly human it would provide him with a few minutes of entertainment, this he would enjoy.........
