I am completely speechless. Really, I can count the number of authors who have made me weep on my hands, and your name has just been added to the list. So heartrending to feel Legolas’ pain at the aging and inevitable death of his chosen companions, and yet so tender. God, that hurts! But it’s a good hurt – I haven’t read anything so beautiful in a long, long time. I can’t add anything more – I need a tissue. Absolutely perfect!

Thank you so much for sharing your work.

This was so wonderful - fresh and evocative and poignant! I've read it twice and I'll definitely be reading it again.

I particularly loved ....

*"My clock runs to the insistence of a faster pace, I know," the King whispered, regret colouring the words, love roughening the edges of his deep voice. "And I am sorry for that; I never meant to cause either of you such pain."*
This feels so as I imagine him, caring and considerate, feeling the pain of others ahead of his own regrets.

*At length he wondered if his friend had fallen into Elvish reverie, while outside the gentle rain that had fallen steadily all day began ever so slightly to turn to a true storm as night began to fall over the capital.*
And this - this is perfect, the pace slows and I can feel time passing in the silent room, I can hear the storm rising, see the light fading, feel the sadness at the passing of the years.

And finally *And ever, always, the sea danced in the eyes of the Elf, calling to him, commanding his tears to add to the great salt depths, while the sea-birds swept through his being and cried out their mournful songs.*
For me you've defined the essence of the sea-longing, you've given it a face and also a voice - the crying of the gulls, and a desolate, drawing-onward sense.

And I could gush on, but truly this only needs one word - beautiful! There is not a single false note or moment of insincerity. Thank you for writing it.

Hi! I've said it once already at fanfiction net and I say it again: this is a wonderful story, and one of my absolute favorites at Aragorn/ Legooas slash, because it portrays the two of them absolutely in character and works perfectly within canon. And the way their interaction is portrayed: Aragorns sensiblity to Legolas moods ad hidden pain, the sentence: 'Aragorn suspected that Legolas made more noise these days so he *could* hear him' - it is so sad, and beautiful and greatly written, I adore it. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this wonderful piece!

I'm so happy to have found this story again. This is devastatingly beautiful. Lovely, lovely, lyrical descriptions. Dead-on characterizations. But the best part - this is so incredibly possible. Leaving aside all the A/L slashiness in movie-verse, you\hit hit upon plausible A/L from the book. It just breaks one's heart. Bless you, child - this is some of the best A/L I've ever read, and I've read hundreds of stories.
