This is what I wrote about Oil Slick immediately after I'd written it:
The first section is fairly unneccessary, apart from revealing that Billy doesn't think anything is going wrong in his friendship with Dom. So then, maybe it *is* necessary. I just used it as a starting point, and let the story evolve from there. I had no idea what was going to happen in it when I started writing. And the first section is funny coz it's almost a straight repeat of the intro of 'Interview'. So that makes me laugh. I'm plagarising myself. If I get criticism for that on AFF at least'll 'll show someone's reading my stories thoroughly! And I had fun imagining Billy say those words in his accent. Could you understand a Scot saying "Do you know what we’ll be doing for the shoot?”
The second bit reminds me of the girlyslash I posted in my journal for my pal Plaid, about her doing work experience as a photographer's assistant and being late to the studio. So that's not original either. Note the Makeup Therapist...
The third bit... I'd actually like to see those photos. A stormy sea would be digitally edited in behind them later, of course.
The fourth bit... how many scenes like that have you read lately? If people aren't in a bed they're in a shower.

I wanted to post the incredibly long critique I wrote of this fic when I submitted it to the Showcase Challenge but don't have a copy... Will post it when I can get Kez to send it back to me. Has anyone noticed the extent to which I can discuss my own writing? It's almost embarrasing.

Hehehehe, both covered in industrial waste. Very amusing Veevs, this fic is! But also an idea that isn't used enough (and you think it would be!), the idea of losing touch and doing what you can to rekindle it.
I really liked Billy's shower techniques. If you call it that. It just seems like a perfect ficBilly thing to do...."oh, dom's taking a shower, I think I'll go talk to him"
This line cracked me up:
“Billy, what the fuck is going on? I’m in the shower, naked, having a shower. You still have your wetsuit on but you may not have noticed that I am *naked*. What the fuck are you doing?”
